Went to Rob at "Pro Audio Service Ltd" a few months ago to get my Mackie SRM amps repaired, was greeted at his house and not a business as mentioned so might be best to be updated, HOWEVER, he did an OK job at repairing the amps for me.
I don't have as much experience as Rob with amplifiers hence why I gave them to him to repair, personally I wouldn't have said the repair job itself was done 100% professionally, it was more of a "give it to a guy that likes fixing things" sort of thing as he is now semi-retired (which also should be mentioned on the website), he used hot glue to secure the capacitors in place and didn't bother to clean any of the stringing up from the glue (or at least that's what I looked like to me). I will say I was really impressed with the soldering job he did though as it was very neat and tidy on such a small part of the board.
****I did have to go back to him twice as it seemed like he struggled to find the cause of the problem the first time which was a problem because he lived two hours away, he was extremely nice through the emails and told me if it was too much of a trek he would refund me the full amount but as I needed the amps fixed I went up there for the second time and he finally managed to fix them for me.
I would still recommend Rob but I suggest that you let him identify the problem rather than tell him as he has the attitude where he thinks he knows more than everyone else because he has had a slight bit more of experience in the industry.
How long will the amps last hough? I don't know.. but hopefully a few more years!
Thanks again to him for fixing the amps for me.
