I live in Switzerland and I regularly order from Germany. Usually the tax is included in the cost but sometimes you have to pay the 7.7% VAT on delivery.
I ordered from probikekit.de and I expected my order to come from Germany but it came from the UK. On the Probikekit website, it states that they will cover the import VAT cost for EU countries but I could not find any additional information about non EU European countries. The VAT in Switzerland is only a fraction of the cost compared to the UK and Germany. No VAT was paid by Probikekit for my order which is disappointing but not the real problem.
Because the order was shipped from the UK rather than Germany, and because Probikekit used DPD as their courier, my order was just under 80 Euros but I had to pay just under 60 Euros in delivery charges when the tax was Only about 7 Euros.
There is no information about additional charges on the Probikekit Germany website, despite them saying their is. There only is on their UK website.
I contacted Probikekit twice since yesterday and they did not care to comment other than just saying the following(check at end), almost exactly the same message twice. I will never order from this company again and I advise Switzerland based customers to take note of my experience before ordering. The order would have been around 45 Euros cheaper if I had ordered from Switzerland, taking into account the overall cost. A stupid mistake on my part to have put trust in a company like Probikekit.

Initially trandportation is mentioned one day. When it comes to pay it says 5-7 days, but within one day is 16€ extra

The Item was 20% more expensive than in other shops, BUT in stock and available for shipping. 2 days after ordering I was informed that the item was sold Out / Not available... I had to wait 2 weeks.
This is highly irritating.

Wrong item sent. Partial refunds & annoying customer service

I have purchased through ProBikeKit before without issue, but i guess when things go wrong they go really wrong.
I ordered a pair of GRX400 Levers and Calipers, i received 2x left levers and rear brakes!! :/ I sent them back but only go a refund for the left lever & caliper (which was the cheaper) when obvioulsy i paid for a right lever...
Lots of hassle and wasted time on my side.. Problably wont buy again from them..
