I popped into the store on Saturday afternoon. The shop was very quiet, with two members of staff and only one other customer present. That customer was speaking with one of the staff members, while the other member of staff was behind the counter.

I approached her for advice on buying a good frying pan, as one I had previously purchased from another brand had not performed well. I'm not an expert when it comes to cookware and was hoping to receive some genuine guidance. I was fully prepared to spend more on a quality pan if it meant getting something durable that would last long term.

The staff member showed me two options, but when I asked about the difference between stick and non-stick pans, she seemed disinterested. It may be a basic question, but I genuinely didn't understand the differences and was looking for expert advice. I explained that I simply wanted a good pan for everyday family cooking.

At that point, she told me she needed to return to her other customer, despite that customer already being assisted by her colleague. As a result, I left the shop disappointed and still without the advice I had come in for.

I had been ready to make a purchase with a budget of around £100, but instead I felt ignored and unwelcome. It's a shame because the shop itself is lovely, but based on this experience I won't be returning

Having been a regular at Lakeland for a decade and needing a new chopping board the array of quality products on offer and the nice environment on the shop allowed for a sensible selection to be made and browsing. Lovely shop, nice staff and very reasonably priced. Will go back 100%

I needed a frying pan for a very specific purpose and the assistant showed me lots that might suit. He took them out of any packaging so that I could judge the cooking area better, and told me which would suit induction hobs, how best to use them and care for them. I didn’t have time to browse for anything else, but will definitely go back.
