Absolutely useless! Not interested when you report a problem. Currently waiting for a contractor to ring me to arrange fixing my shower, I reported this 4 days ago and haven’t even received a call yet let alone arrange for it to be fixed. Hardly surprising though as I still waiting for a hole in my ceiling to be repaired after it collapsed 6 years ago!

I wrote this complaint email in August…no response

I wrote this complaint email in August to the company's CEO and founder. I did not receive a response which I think says everything about The Property Shop's contempt for potential buyers.

Dear Steve,

I am sorry to write to you with a complaint about one of your team. I have not made a complaint before, so I apologise if this email is not the correct approach but I felt it was only right that I inform you of how I was treated by a member of The Property Shop sales team this weekend.

I had an appointment to view [removed] on Saturday. I believe the person I was due to meet was Michael.

Like many buyers I had booked several viewings for Saturday and had planned my day meticulously to allow travel time and to ensure I was punctual for every appointment. This was the case for the viewing with Property Shop, and I arrived at the property 10 mins early.

When I was waiting outside the property, I answered a call from one of your team (again I believe Michael) at around 1:50pm and I confirmed to him that I was at the property. He said ok I’ll set off now.

I then waited at the property – sitting on a wall with my mother who is in her 70s – until 2:15, at which time I realised I had to set off for my next viewing, so as to be on time – as I allow 15 minutes for a first viewing as this seems to be what agents expect.

When I was called at 2:16pm by a member of your team (again I believe this was Michael), he informed me he was at the property. I politely (and with an apologetic tone) explained that I hadn’t been able to wait any longer and was walking to my next appointment. (I hadn’t been able to call to tell him this as I didn’t have his direct number, only the office number).

Your colleague did not apologise for being late – in fact he made a huffing sound and said in a very rude tone “well that’s unfortunate because I have travelled all the way out here for you to view it”.

At this point, I replied “Hang on a moment, you are the person who is late” and he spoke over me to say “I have been trying to confirm with you that you would be there for the last hour.”

I then explained that I had been in back to back viewings for the last two hours and had not looked at my phone, and I tried to also explain that no one from property shop (or indeed any other agent) had ever informed me that I had to confirm the appointment on the day so I had no idea that he would be expecting me to be in touch. He then spoke over me and said, “I am ending this conversation" and hung up on me.

I believe that I was treated badly by this member of your team (who I believe was called Michael) and so I wanted to let inform you of how I was treated. I would be very happy to speak to you over the phone if this is helpful. I did try calling this morning but am on a train and was cut off so I thought email would be the best route.

Many thanks, and I am sorry that I am contacting you under negative circumstances.

The agency and customer service they…

The agency and customer service they provide is really poor. Everytime I went to the agency woman was rude, I not gonna mansion about phone calls. I rent property there for 3 years, on the beginning everything was okay after a year issues start, worms in the house, broken pipe in the wall twice. So I not highly recommend, for this price you can find much better property and service.

Massive thanks.

Ended up buying a house from another agent as we missed out on the ones my daughter liked, but have to give a fantastic review of the Accrington branch. Staff were big help and went out of their way to provide help for my daughter who suffers badly with anxiety. Thank you

STOP - do not use!

It’s telling they there are so many bad reviews on this company. The owner is so bullish and aggressive, and has no care for following processes or treating people fairly. The worse company I have ever had the displeasure of coming across. Didn’t have a clue what they were doing. An awful experience. As a landlord do not trust what the owner says - he is the epitome of why people don’t trust estate agents. Avoid if you can.

Fantastic

Just want to say a massive thank you to all at Property Shop for the speedy sale of my property. Your service has been amazing, 3 months from putting it on the market to completion. You kept me up to date and informed all the way along and answered my many questions in a friendly informative way. Thank you so much. Wendy Ashton 🙂

Surprised to see negative reviews to be…

Surprised to see negative reviews to be honest. All the girls in the Accrington branch couldn't have been more professional and helpful. We had so many viewings compared to other estate agents. Lovely bunch of girls. Very professional, efficient and always happy to help wherever they could. Big thanks to Kirsty, Shelley, Abbie and Amy in particular. Excellent customer service 👏 1st class and a cut above other estate agents by a long shot. Will always recommend Property Shop.
Thanks Girls

A studio from a great agency

I rented a studio from the property shop by the sea.

Thomas Jeeves at The Property Shop has been very understanding and helpful throghout my tenancy with this agency.

He arranged a viewing for me and I secured the flat straight away. He then informed me of the next steps and helped me with the referencing process. I once accidentally contacted him out of hours, but he still helped with my problem and advised me on who to contact!

All in all the property shop has been a professional and helpful agency. We had one misunderstanding, but it doesn't end the world.

They cleaned the flat before I moved in, helped me get my keys out of office hours and fire alarm tests etc are done. Communication worked well and professionally even during the pandemic. In my experience they reply to calls quickly and reply to emails promptly.

They have been a good, respectable property agent where some other agencies lack in Brighton. Thank you!

5 ☆ plus

I can not fault the property shop lettings they are professional and thorough through and through. They offer an excellent, great value service. As a landlord it is imperative we get the right tenants in our property and even if this means the checks take a little longer it is worth the wait to ensure all parties are an appropriate fit. The ongoing property and safety checks throughout the length of the tenancy offer you peace of mind.
I recently recommended The Property shop to my friend and they sold her house in 2 days. She is elderly and shielding.
The safety measures The Property Shop had been put in place due to the current Pandemic meant she was able to continue with her plans to move. The 360 ° virtual tour meant only truly interested parties came to view. She too has been thrilled with the Service provided and would also give them a 5 ☆ review

Fantastic service

Fantastic, professional and excellent communication. We sold our property within 6 weeks with 48 viewings which property shop took care of whilst we were out of the country. Lovely staff thank you to Lisa, Abbie & Lucas. Not the best experience for us as we were let down by poor service from the buyers solicitor so the sale took much longer than it should have. However property shop have been brilliant throughout the whole process. Can’t thank you enough xx Lisa & Jack x

Disappointed isn't the word really

Disappointed isn't the word really. I feel cheated, lied to and heart broken. Me and my husband saw a house and fell in love with it. We had to wait 2 weeks to view it as they didn't have any times available that would be suitable. We viewed. The gentleman didn't seem very interested in showing us around really but that's just the impression I got. We applied. We got bank statements together, wage slips, photo I.D and references in less than 48 hrs. They emailed me to pay a holding deposit and i rung and did so in 20 mins. It came to light about a 5 year old CCJ about a parking ticket that we had no clue about. They asked for a guarantor. We couldn't get one. They said they needed to do a house inspection. The only time we could do it was 9th March. My sons 1st birthday. We had agreed that we really wanted this house so it would just have to be that day. I made sure the house was clean and tidy as I didn't know what to expect. In the meantime we paid another £800+ to secure the house and we booked a meeting to collect keys this Thursday 12th at 3pm. I was so excited. They even rang my husband to ask if we wanted to keep any furniture. The inspection date arrived. The gentleman came in, sat on my couch and read our application back to me. He stayed 5 mins. Viewed the kitchen through the glass door and said "no pets here right?" To which I replied "nope". He didn't go upstairs. He said "we have to do visits with everyone now, the landlords like it" to which I replied "I understand". He left. I rung my husband to say that i thought it went well! 30 mins later I got a phone call. "Our inspector suspects a pet in the house, the landlord no longer wants to proceed with the application." I broke down and said I DON'T HAVE A PET HERE. what can I do to reassure the landlord. 'Nothing. He no longer wants to proceed." But why? There isn't a pet here?? "We suspect there is". Broken. Our plans shattered. I gave them my bank details to refund me. The listing was never taken down the whole time it was meant to be under application with us. There was never an update on the listing to say *under application* like most do when a potential new tenant pays £1,000+ holding deposit and 5 weeks rent. To have the house pulled from under us ruined not only my day but my day with my son on his 1st birthday. They suspect I have a pet. I don't. I suspect they took another application while ours was proceeding and someone new will be moving into our dream home over the new couple of weeks. That's what I suspect. We will be forwarding this to the property ombudsmen and I'll bet they aren't members of the NAEA so they will just do as they please. Hopefully the property ombudsmen will investigate my suspicions of taking an application while a property was under application and let me know what just happened as something isn't right here. I wish I'd have looked at your trust pilot before applying as we can't all be wrong. Your staff are rude to customers. Ruthless and commission chasing. Only out for yourselves and F anyone who gets in the way of your pay day eh. Nice one property shop Accrington. Now I know why you don't sign your emails with names, so no one knows who to direct their complaint to. With all of your negative reviews, you will probably reply with something clever and make out we are in the wrong and you're in the right on this one. Go ahead. Brush me and my husband under the carpet. See where it gets you.

unprofessional lying company. Ridiculous!!

After making myself and my wife jump through a multitude of hoops and having us sign a tenancy, they did a property inspection on our current house 2 days before we was supposed to get the keys to our new property and denied our application because their inspector ‘thinks’ we have a pet. This is not the case, there was no pets in our property or has been in our current property, so because of their super-sleuth inspectors assumptions we have now lost the property. The most unprofessional agents I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I WILL be forwarding a file to the property ombudsman and although it won’t help with the lovely property we have now lost due to their ‘assumptions’ it will make me feel better to have sheisters like this investigated. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

The worst letting agency ever I have…

The worst letting agency ever I have seen .
Do not waste your time with them.
They took whatever needed to rent a house but didn’t give any response for about two weeks and whenever I tried to talk to them all they could say was , we are waiting for the landlord. Really?? Then what are you doing as agency??
Taking money from my account and relax????

Not even one star

Let me start by saying I wouldn't even give it one star.

I went to view a house that smelt disgusting. So bad in fact that the so called expert showing me round was trying to find what it was. Now I say expert but I knew more about property and the legal stuff than them. Up until today my Mother had been dealing with rental and sale properties. She had dealt with the Accrington branch and found them to be rude and dismissive. After my tour of cat p!*s heaven today I went into store to discuss me renting it on the condition it was cleaned. I was told by the dismissive, rude, unknowlegable staff member it was not her job. By this point the dismissive nature of the rude staff made my mind up for me and I wouldn't be using the company. When I called to speak to the manager Steve who wasn't in, a different manager called me back calling me a liar. They apparently knew about the smell and the staff hadn't said what was said.

Either way I won't be using them for either renting cat p!*s heaven or buying a house.

UNNACEPTABLE, UNREASONABLE AND RUDE

BEWARE OF THE PROPERTY SHOP IN ACCRINGTON, VERY RUDE UNHELPFULL
WILL CUT YOU OFF THE PHONE AND WONT DO ANY THING TO HELP, WE RECENTLY WANTED TO MOVE HOUSES, WE ARE CURRENTLY RENTING A PROPERTY FOR £800 WE HAD NO PROBLEM IN GETTING THIS, I HAVE NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT AND I FOUND A HOUSE CLOSER TO MY SONS SCHOOL FOR CHEAPER £550, WE GOT INTOUCH WITH THE PROPERTY SHOP IN ACCRINGTON, THEY WANTED 2 GUARANTORS DIDNT BELIEVE A WORD WE SAID, WE WERE CALLED LIARS,DOESNT MAKE SENSE SO JUST THINK TWICE BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY AS THEY WILL SHATTER YOUR DREAMS AND ANOTHER THING THE MANAGING DIRECTOR IS NOT ANY BETTER THAN HIS EMPLOYEES AS HE EVEN PUTS THE PHONE DOWN ON YOU SO BASICLY THEY CANT COMMUNICATE WITH CUSTOMERS. SO IF YOU ARE GOING TO PUT A HOUSE FOR LETTING THROUGH THIS COMPANY, DON’T, AS YOU WONT GET ANY RENTERS IN THE PROPERTY OR EVEN BE ABLE TO SELL. THEY WANT A LETTER IN WRITING AND I WONDER WHAT THEY WILL DO WITH THAT, I KNOW IT WILL GO STRAIGHT IN TO THE CLOSES BIN.
