Environmental charge levied to repair a puncture
I suffered a nail in a tyre, thankfully it could be repaired. The staff were polite and the repair was done. I was happy with the cost to repair, much cheaper than a new tyre! But when I got home my wife saw a £4.15 + vat environmental charge had been levied. Having searched the reason for the charge being made, I fail to see why it had been added. At the time I was told that a small section of foam was removed from the inside of the tyre to enable the patch to be fitted during the repair process. The charge is a very small amount in the grand scale of things, but it is the principle. Why should I bother returning to question the charge, it may just create ill feeling. Whilst I was very happy with the fee to repair, I would have been even happier without that charge having been shown on the invoice or for the reason it was applied to be relevant when a puncture is repaired and there is no tyre to dispose of or seat covering used. Perhaps someone will reply to this? I'm happy to learn more and understand why it was charged. I have used the business before and this wont stop me using it again, but in the future, it will make me view the invoice and ask for clarity before I leave.

Excellent service from everyon. Martin the manager and all the men were…
Martin the manager and all the men were very helpful from the first time I went in there a year ago with a flat tyre. This prompted me to look at Protyre when I was worried about the condition of my tyres. They looked at them very thoroughly and didn’t even persuade me to have new ones, so I will certainly go back to them when they do need replacing. It makes a great change to deal with people who don’t always try the sales pitch on you. Definitely will use them again and no hesitation to recommend them. ( I haven’t been paid to say this either, one always wonders.)
