Quick and friendly service to fit 4 new tyres

had a fantastic experience at Protyre in Ilkley. I went in because a warning light had come on in my car, and they managed to diagnose and fix the issue on the same day. The whole process was incredibly efficient.
What really stood out was the level of communication. When I went to pick up my car, they actually brought out the broken part and showed me exactly what had gone wrong. No garage has ever done that for me before, and it gave me real confidence in the work they’d done.
A special shoutout to Ryan, who handled everything from start to finish. He was absolutely amazing — polite, easy to talk to, professional, and provided excellent customer service throughout. I honestly can’t fault him.

I have used Protyre on numerous occasions and on every visit they have been professional and will endeavour to resolve my issues. Some classics are "Daughter back from University, oops forgot the mot, or there is a funny noise in the car" All resolved by Protyre within a short time frame with major work done to resolve the matter before she went back ! I had a wheel balance issue and presto they were there sorting it. Courteous and good pricing I would highly recommend the skilled team here.

The car failed its MOT but the staff gave some helpful constructive advice as to what needed to be done to get it through the retest. Whilst I was waiting in the reception I overheard another customer booking his car in for a service and some other work, who commented "you guys look after our cars well"

I was looking for new summer tyres for my F10 M5 - order 3000573086. I wanted to try the Falken RS820 and so how they compared to premium tyres that were twice the price.

Protyre had them at a good price, about £130 cheaper than black circles.

I should have gone to black circles.

When I arrived at Ilkley I was told I was the first car they had booked in and changing 4 tyres would take 2 hours. This seemed a little long in my experience.

I went to have breakfast nearby and came back an hour later ready to wait (and my 2 year old was keen to watch a garage in action). It was clear to see why it would take 2 hours because 2 of the staff were just stood around. The one and half staff that I saw working on my car after I waited were working on one of the employees dirt bike’s tyres. This was whilst my car was on trolley jacks half done….

2 hours is fine if the work is right and that time is spent on my purchase. But it wasn’t and could easily have been done in half the time if my purchase was given the full attention is deserved. Last week I did my first long journey following the fitting and the vibration is off the scale. 50-70mph felt like cobbles.

I had all 4 wheels rebalanced today and the local garage showed me the before and after for each wheel. They were all off by 50-70g with 2 wheels only being ‘single/static balanced’.

The Falken RS820 tyres are good (really good to be fair to Falken), but the quality of fitting, lethargy of staff and respect for a customers time means I won’t be buying returning to protyre.

Pay a little more and have it done right first time by a company that treats it’s customers properly

Highly recommend Ilkley Protyre garage. Nathan and the team are exceptional. They are always super friendly and helpful, and I have to say they often go over and above, I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Tyres fitted as arranged and on time. Just one observation. Maybe advise customers to reset tyre inflation monitor. Mine went off on M1 following day.

I use these guys all the time for my mot on both cars always great service .

It was my cars MOT and service day,it failed! Big parts needed and work but it was done by closing time despite a parts search at one point.
As always they couldn't have been more helpful and thorough.
