Building and staff were very calming
The PSICON building is decorated in a colourful, modern and welcoming decor.
It was noticeably clean and the fish tank is a lovely addition.
Offering complementary tea/coffee/water was also a nice touch.
There is parking in the side street for people with a disabled badge, which isn’t mentioned.
My assessment was in a room at the top of 1 flight of stairs, which were not too steep, so I was able to manage them.
The room where I had my assessment was large, bright and airy, with different seating options (at a large table, or on couches by the window).
My assessment was done with Patrick, who was calming, patient and professional.
Overall I would recommend PSICON for an assessment, once I had been referred to them, I was seen within approx 12 months.

ADHD assessment
My son was diagnosed with ADHD at Psicon. We found the process to be smooth, communication excellent and the assessment itself was carried out by an amazing clinician. They took their time, were extremely patient with my son who was very chatty and active during the appointment. The doctor also made sure to consider my child’s views during the assessment by directly asking for his own views, not just those of the parents.

Don't know how anyone gets a response. 21 people in phone queue and not answered my 2 emails. They asked me to book an appt, perhaps they can advise how this can be done!

Great for ASD assessment
The whole team in my experience were super kind and understanding of difference. Going through an ASD assessment can be a little draining at the best of times, but everyone that I spoke to was very friendly and patient.
The booking system can be a little stressful given that you can only book appointments by phone and during office hours. However, everyone that I spoke to throughout was very helpful.

5 reasons why
1st reason: gender of our child was wrong
2nd reason: names spelled wrong
3rd reason: factual mistakes written in report
4th reason: due to gender child we feel our child has not got an accurate diagnosis although ticking all other boxes except gender! We feel discrimination in this area!
5th reason: due to an admin error on other party’s behalf, not being able to get a diagnosis
We feel that Psicon did not give us fair treatment from the start and whether or not the outcome is accurate, we feel let down!

Outstanding service
From the referral being made to receiving a diagnosis, this took a total of 6 weeks. The team and communication throughout was excellent. The Psychiatrist undergoing the assessment was very thorough and made me feel heard and understood. Overall, I am very pleased with this service and would recommend to family and friends.

Psicon - A fantastic service
Psicon can not be recommended by me enough. I have been lucky enough to use their services twice now and each time they have gone above and beyond to help my daughter. They have ensured she felt safe, adapted the assessments so that she could take part in them (& they didn’t have to be cancelled) and gave her lots of praise - something she really needed at such stressful times. The Clinicians are incredibly professional, patient, kind and caring. They really listen and genuinely want to help. The whole experience was a refreshing change and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

However, in order to maintain the integrity and clinical accuracy of our reports, we are unable to issue generic versions that omit this contextual information but we can offer a shorter letter to solely confirm the outcome of the assessment that can be shared with the workplace (or other setting) if required.

Absolutely brilliant service and so supportive, friendly, efficient and understanding in this crazy world of neurodiverse brains such as mine and my sons.
