Easy initial forms to fill in and shorter wait times to be assessed. I had an appointment with Dr Khalid, who was wonderful and made me feel at ease. Wait for medication has been over 3 months now... See more

I was talking to a lady on the phone called Dulcie, and before I spoke to her, I felt so overwhelmed, with everything, as I have recently been dignosed with ADHD and Autism, with everything else I am going through, she was so kind, and calming, very very helpful, texted me things, and just made me feel bit better and my situation. Thank you so much, I cant thank you enough

The whole team from booking clerks down to the health professionals. The booking team explained what can be expected from each stage of my child autism appointment. During part a of the assessment we were made to feel welcome with adults being able to have a tea or coffee whilst my child was in for assessment during part B the Dr was so attentive and compassionate it made me feel heard as a parent. The process after with waiting on report was clearly explained in email and a resource pack was sent via email which will be of use to some parents. Thank you for being so kind and compassionate.

My daughter's assessment was great, the whole process only took a few months and the assessor, Rakel, was brilliant with my daughter, really putting her at ease and helping her feel comfortable to engage in a way that suited her abilities. Overall very happy and I would recommend their services, all interactions have been timely, informative, friendly and helpful.

All interactions with staff members were positive. We felt listened to and felt that a thorough assessment was made. I did not feel rushed. I felt that our child was also listened to and very much involved in all discussions.
The only downside was the lack of forward planning of appointments.

The application process was very smooth and simple. The waiting time was given as 1 year but my daughter was assessed in 6 months. The assessor was an incredibly kind, happy and reassuring lady and the assessment was a pleasure.

My son has been struggling for years now and finds it very difficult talking to people. This morning he had his adhd assessment. He was reluctant to join the meeting. Rakel was amazing. She put no demands on him and said he was welcome to join us in the meeting when he was ready. He did manage to join for a small amount of time. He’s not good with eye contact, so Rakel wore an eye mask which was a brilliant idea, my son was more willing to speak. The whole time Rakel made us both feel relaxed, listened to and not judged. For the first time in years, I feel that my son was truly seen and heard. Thank you Rakel.

Really bizarre and disappointing. The person assessing me on Teams seemed wholly bored or not interested, whilst also being judgemental. Made it very difficult to feel like I could trust him with my answers and that I could speak openly - could see him smirking or rolling eyes or getting frustrated at me.
I was then told that he could not give me an outcome from the assessment because the weight put on my family members answers, rather than my own and this 90 minute Teams assessment, didn’t match up with what I was expressing. To not trust the patient sat in front of them but someone they haven’t or spoke to face to face more is really patronising, upsetting and disempowering.

My son and I had an ADHD assessment via Microsoft teams on Thursday, with Rakel Morenike.
Rakel was amazing with my son, put him at ease and spoke to him directly made him the focus whilst still discussing things with me.
We have been seen much quicker than I expected and I’m so grateful.
Thank you Rakel for making the assessment so positive for Ryan and reassuring for me. I’d highly recommend to any parent!

I would not recommend this service for high-masking autistic women.
I have just received a diagnosis of ASD level 1 at the age of 30 from a different service. Had I been properly assessed by Psicon, I could have received additional years of support and understanding.
Instead, the assessment felt superficial and did not take into account the female presentation of autism. Emphasis was placed on my ability to make eye contact and dress myself appropriately, and a lot of weight was placed on my family member's account of my childhood and not delved into further, when many of my traits were actually identifiable in childhood. I was dismissed as having anxiety and spent a long time trying to reconcile this with how I knew I felt inside. I was devastated by the experience and it took me a long time to get the confidence to seek a second opinion.
I know other women like myself will look to Trustpilot for recommendations if going through Right to Choose, so I would recommend that you look elsewhere, seek out a service that uses the ADOS assessment tool and doesn't just rely on the DSM-5 criteria and has experience diagnosing people like you, and steer clear of Psicon.

Rakel was incredible when assessing my daughter. She put her at ease straight away and she knew instinctively the best way to support her and assess at the same time. Rakel listened and she made her laugh which was such a great way to interact with my daughter.
Rakel you made such a hard process so much better, you are such an incredible person, keep doing what you do. You are great at it and such a lovely way at supporting young people.
Thank you again.

Took just over 9 months from start to finish through right to choose, that was having to appeal for my son in that time too,we sent in more evidence and he had the assesment and got an autism dignosis, people we saw were friendly and all emails were replied to when needed to find out things.

My ADHD assessment through NHS Right to Choose was a genuinely positive experience, but everything surrounding it has been a frustrating lesson in how not to run a service for people with ADHD. The initial wait was around six months, which I understand is standard - but why no tracker or communication along the way? There's no continuity of care once you're seen - no case manager, no direct contacts. My medication appointment came four months post-diagnosis, nine months after starting the process, and even then it wasn't straightforward. As my prescriber was about to send the prescription, he asked me to email an up-to-date blood pressure reading. Fair enough. But I was given only a generic email address and now find myself in a repeat prescription email inbox with a blanket two-week wait. Once you get this far, a delay like this just makes you want to chomp on a piece of leather.
The phone system has queues of up to 25 people, no direct lines to anyone, and a labyrinthine menu that had me hanging up and redialling multiple times as an ADHDer.
I understand the pressures of NHS Right to Choose but that's not an excuse for a contractor this bloated and chronically understaffed. I know of friends with other RTC providers who got assessed and prescribed on the same day. The bar exists, Psicon isn't quite hitting it.

The communication is poor they have left my 15 year old son now twice without medication when we did all the correct procedure by asking 2 weeks in advanced, not only that my son was diagnosed that day after an Autism assessment the psychiatrist went off for a good 20 mins then came back, now my daughters we have to wait up to 6 weeks when we was told 2 weeks we have complained on 2 occasions about there communication and how they deal with autistic and |ADHD patients at appointment, not impressed the lady who we had with my daughter was not profesional enough and rude, how can 1 person say at the basingstoke office yes autistic and she can see ADHD and the onew on zoom said no cant see ADHD at all, we are all ADHD and autistic in our family including myself its inherited.
had no reply I would not go with this company its been so stressful and to diagnose a child so late at 15 he has missed out on so education and childhood

Psicon are amazing, my son has struggled for many years and within seven months we have a diagnosis which is life changing for him. All of the staff are incredible.

I cannot thank the Psicon team enough for the ADHD diagnostic report for my son. After a long and difficult journey, we finally feel heard and supported in this country.
A special thank you to Richard Adabonyan. His assessment was incredibly thorough and professional. What touched me most as a mother was that he didn’t just look at the symptoms; he noticed the child behind them, even highlighting my son’s musical talent with the accordion. Reading the report brought me to tears because it was the first time someone truly understood our challenges and provided a clear path forward.
The report is comprehensive, and the recommendations for medication and further ASD assessment steps are very clear. We feel a huge sense of relief knowing we are in such capable hands for the titration process.
I highly recommend Psicon to any parent seeking a professional, empathetic, and detailed neurodevelopmental assessment.

Easy to use service, although my anxiety was high I was treated with sensitivity and am very hopeful their support will bring a brighter future.

The process from start to finish was 11 months, we was told my son will have to wait 4/5 years with the NHS for a diagnosiswith adhd and asd, I found rtc and it was the bestest ever thing I did, psicon have been professional all the way through and can not fault 1 thing at all.

Exceptional service! Having gone through a very long, complicated and frustrating adhd assessment with cahms previously for another of my children, being turned away twice by cahms for my son, without seeing him, contacting nobody ect, I went down the path of right to chose with my gp. I had an email with a questionaire for myself and for my sons school before I had even left the gp’s waiting room!! Received confirmation emails when the had received the questionnaires back, received check in emails just to be curtious, the whole process was just very easy, very informative and stress free. From start to finish it took less than 6 months! My son got a diagnosis, that my daughter had to wait 2 and a half years for through cahms, and that timescale has now increased to 4 years!
I was told by pscion it could take up to 9-12 months to get an assessment. I was happy with that. So to receive one and a diagnosis within 6 months is absolutely fantastic! I have recommend them to anyone and everyone who is going through a similar situation. I cannot praise these people enough! Utterly amazing service!

I can't thank Psicon enough. Not only was our NHS assessment done extremely quickly, the communication while waiting was reassuring. Mark was amazing with our son, he quickly found a common ground with him which made my son feel at ease. The assessment was very relaxed which helped us and our son to answer all questions asked in more depth. Thanks again Mark!
