11 months start to finish, the people during the ados assessment made my child very comfortable and plenty to do whilst we waited a short time, paediatrician for the development history and adhd assessment was also very good with my son. He was diagnosed with autism and adhd after the 4 hour video call

Very friendly and professional staff. They were so great with our 6 old boy, going through Right-to-choose ASD and ADHD assessments. Their premises in Basingstoke are so lovely, feeling welcoming and very clean. We are so happy that we chose Psicon.

Absolutely brilliant from start to…

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Good communication, good timelines, always very helpful! Our trip to Basingstoke was brilliant, it took us 3 hours to get there, but we were met with friendly faces, coffee machines and clean facilities. Our zoom call for the diagnosis was brilliant too, such wonderful stuff! Would recommend to anyone going through this process. They made my daughter feel at ease and safe!

Amazing experience

The whole process was much qicker than i expected, all staff i spoke to were helpful and kind. The doctor that did my final video appointment was nice, patient and put me at ease as i was very nervous, overall a great service and i am very greatful.

Disappointing experience

We’ve been really disappointed with our experience of a self funded ADHD assessment and following diagnosis, medication consultation. The assessment itself was comprehensive but the psychiatrist who delivered the diagnosis framed it in a negative way for our seven year old son (it’s about problems with being easily distracted and getting into trouble at school) which caused him anxiety and led to an escalation of challenging behaviour. We went ahead with a medication consultation and whilst the prescribing clinician was very nice and knowledgeable her video camera wasn’t working and so that consultation had to take place over the phone instead. She said that she would be issuing a prescription in the post and more than one week later we still have not received anything which is frustrating as we had hoped to start the medication during the Easter holidays to better monitor his response to it. I’ve called Psicon twice over the past couple of days, have had to wait for some time on hold to speak to someone and despite being told that they would look into it have not had any response and am continuing to have to chase. I speak to someone different every time I call/email and whilst individually they are polite and try to be helpful there just doesn’t appear to be any communication between themselves and any continuity for the service user and I feel as though I am constantly having to follow up. As a clinician myself working in both the NHS and in private practice, I understand the pressures but think that the service is lacking and would not recommend it to others.

ADHD assessment for 14 year old

After having a really hard few years with my son and gradually becoming more withdrawn at school, I decided to go to my drs about getting him tested for adhd. My son showed every single sign that he has adhd and I felt so awful that I’d left it so long to do this for him. After 3 months of sending the application off (longest part was waiting for the school to fill in the paper work), he was seen and had his test. Confirmed that he has adhd.

The assessor we had was so lovely, gentle and calming. He was so patient and gave my son the time he needed to wonder off back and forth.

I was so pleased that at the end of the assessment we had an answer as I thought that we would again have to wait for this.

I received an email from psicon and I have chosen to add my son to the wait list to try medication.

I would highly recommend psicon. They keep in contact the whole entire time. Their response time is amazing. Over all extremely happy. Thank you

We have always had a great experience…

We have always had a great experience with psicon and our paediatrician/Dr. He is absolute amazing. He is very caring very understanding. He knew my son before my son even knew him in the sense of he knew every single trait and everything about ADHD and how it makes them feel and what they act like my son always feels very comfortable and happy when we see our doctor and it is always been an amazing experience they are very understanding very helpful and caring.

I was referred to Psicon through my private medical insurance Aviva Health

The entire process from start, screening, dual ADHD & ASD assessments to current day has been brilliant and could not recommend enough. The doctors and clinicians are very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and are collaborative working with you instead of just telling you what to do. The support staff are great too and when you ring you actually speak to a real person which is great as this whole process can be confusing if you’ve never done anything like this before. Would highly recommend considering your neurodiverse care with Psicon.

Psicon ASD assessment

Whilst we were waiting for the ASD assessment we were kept updated with checking in emails, if we ever rang with any questions staff were always friendly and polite.

On the day of the ADOS assessment the clinic was very clean and staff were really kind, we were provided a comfortable place to wait.

Great smooth process with lots of support

I’m a bit disappointed by a few aspects…

I’m a bit disappointed by a few aspects of Psicon’s service. It’s been really mixed. My assessments were good but at other points, I’ve struggled, including getting appointments booked in. They don’t seem to ever want to try calling you to book appointments; instead, they’ll text right at the end of the day, and get you to call on the next working day (which can be the next week if they text on a Friday), after 10 and before 4, and you’ll have to wait on hold for approximately an hour before you get through, with a silent line which I think I like less than hold music. I would really like them to try contacting me to book an appointment in the first instance, as waiting on hold for a long period isn’t at all ADHD-friendly, and elsewhere, people always call you to book appointments, rather than making you endure a long call (that, if you’re in a bad signal area, may drop before you get through to someone an hour later).
