UNRESOLVED REFUND OF €952.49 - AVOID - AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE
I am writing this review as a last resort. I have been waiting for a refund of €952.49 (Order #R358726169) for over a month now.
Despite my constant follow-ups, Public.gr only provides automated responses claiming that my bank (Bank of Cyprus) is rejecting the transaction. I have double-checked with my bank multiple times, and they have confirmed that no such rejection exists and no credit attempt has been made by the merchant.
I have repeatedly requested a refund via Bank Transfer (IBAN) to solve this 'technical' issue, but the customer service continues to ignore my request with bot-like replies. This is a significant amount of money, and the lack of human intervention is unacceptable.
Current Status:
- Amount owed: €952.49
- Delay: Over 30 days
- Legal Action: Formal notice has been sent to their legal department, and a complaint has been filed with the European Consumer Centre (ECC Cyprus).
I strongly advise caution when shopping here. I expect an immediate human response with a valid proof of transfer (SWIFT/SEPA).

Of course she didn’t call and Following my communication, I spoke with another gentleman, who told me that my purchase could not be completed as the item I wanted to buy was not available for purchase in this way.
Of course, he didn't give me the name of the lady I spoke to, nor any of the porters, nor did he complete my order as he didn't want to serve me.
I wasted my time and I will never buy the drink from public again, I am very sorry.

A month and still no delivery!
Ordered a tumble dryer on 28/1/26. On the website it showed that shipping would be within one week. I waited 3 weeks and then sent an email - no response. I waited a couple of days and sent another email - no response. I called the telephone number and was told I should have it by 3/3/26. I have yet to receive any further updates. Had I known it would take so long, I would have ordered it from somewhere else.

I bought the ASUS Vivobook 15 X1504VA‑BQ3093 from Public during Black Friday because the product page clearly stated it came with Intel Arc Graphics, even featuring a dedicated section highlighting its gaming capabilities and Arc performance.For that reason, I chose the version without an operating system, purchased a separate Windows 11 license, and spent several hours on installation and setup. In practice, however, the laptop only includes integrated Intel graphics (Iris Xe eligible) rather than a dedicated Arc GPU, as confirmed by both the processor specifications and the Windows Device Manager.After I filed a complaint, the product description on the website was changed from “Arc Graphics & UHD Graphics” to “Iris Xe Graphics,” while my order history and the automatic confirmation emails still display different versions of the same device.
This shows that even the company itself doesn’t have a consistent or transparent understanding of the technical specifications it promotes—something quite problematic when a consumer chooses a product based on expected gaming performance. Even assuming the system operates as Iris Xe, its GPU performance falls far short of what one would reasonably expect from a laptop advertised with a dedicated Arc card and claims of “unique gaming experiences.”Public’s official response was limited to offering a €70 voucher with a warranty extension or a return option—without any genuine acknowledgment of the actual loss (Windows license cost, setup time, missed Black Friday deal) or a proposal for an equivalent model with a true Arc GPU.Despite providing additional technical clarifications, I received no improved offer or meaningful attempt at resolution. Based on this experience, I find Public unreliable when it comes to accurate specifications and serious after‑sales support—especially for technology products where performance details matter.
Selling IPS for OLED
Ordered a Samsung OLED monitor for 400€. The order was delayed. The monitor that arrived was an edge lit ips panel, typically 120€ cheaper, and with a one letter different code... This level of incompetence seems intentional honestly.
Unacceptable post-purchase support and refusal of refund for a defective TV
Extremely disappointed with my recent purchase from Public.gr. I received a brand-new TV on January 22nd which was defective straight out of the box (severe panel uniformity issues/Dirty Screen Effect).
I immediately reported the issue with photographic evidence, requesting a DOA (Dead on Arrival) replacement or a refund. Since then, I have been subjected to a week of empty promises. I was told multiple times that I would be contacted within "2 business days," yet I have received zero follow-up calls. Every time I try to reach their technical department, I am left on hold indefinitely.
It is unacceptable that a company is lightning-fast when it comes to taking your money, but completely disappears when they deliver a faulty product. I have already filed an official complaint with the Hellenic Consumers' Ombudsman (Synigoros tou Katanaloti) and I am exercising my legal right to withdraw from the contract.
I demand an immediate full refund and for the defective unit to be picked up from my residence.

I will start by saying that I will never shop there again. Unfortunately I cannot rate less then 1 which is way more than they deserve.
I got a dehumidifier from their online shop. I used for a day and decided to return it because I was not satisfied by the appliance. Ok I though no issue I have all the original packaging together with every miniscule sticker and protector. I went by and requested a refund which by law it should be a non-issue for every online purchase. Long story short they did all they could to make it as hard as possible to get a refund and decided to get store credit.
Then they sent me a link from Feefo to review the returned product and decided to not post it since I didn't recommend the device and named another model and make. Now they tell me go send an email to Feefo so they can tell you what you are able to write and not.
The most worst company ever
If i can give -100 rate i will. Oct 2024 we bought a washing machine,first week of October 2025 the machine had a terrible noise i called them and said a technician will come in 3 days, which happened and according to the technician the machine is ok so i just used it even my neighbors were complaining about the horrible noise it is creating. Some days after i used the machine again and to my surprise my kitchen is flooded and the machine is not working so i called them again and said a technician will come again, after a week the technician came took photos and check and he said someone will take the machine to their service center. Been waiting and waiting, calling them and sending them messages and nothing they just ignore. after 3 weeks technician came to take the machine and promise us 1 week and they will send back the machine. Now 1 month has passed and still nothing been calling them everyday but they say the same thing. The person from their call center just say we will call you back when there is a news omg. Been calling their partner service center and the same thing . I will never ever buy even a pen to this Public. Terrible Service

I ordered and paid for home delivery, selecting a specific delivery date. The courier partner ignored that date and redirected the parcel to a drop box. This may be more convenient for the courier, but it isn’t for the customer and undermines the service I paid for. Public.gr should choose partners more wisely and ensure the “choose your delivery date” service is actually honored, otherwise you are going to lose clients.

Following over two decades of international Quality and Customer Service Consultancy and corporate training (thats 32 countries and over 80 cities), I can assure you that in my professional opinion, public.gr is the most unprofessional, despicable, uncaring company I have ever, and I mean EVER, had the misfortune to use. They literally do not give a dam about customers, their rights and the laws that are in place to protect consumers from company's like public.gr.
I ordered an item online, then almost immediately realised I had made a mistake.
I emailed the company to cancel the order and ask for a refund. They ignored it, and finally, even after a second email asking them to cancel they still sent the item to a courier.
Several more emails to Public were ignored. Their website, through which I could normally also communicate, was not working.
Finally, over a week later, I was forced to escalate and send emails to senior executives to lodge a formal complaint:

So I used my legal team team to write to them pointing out their unlawful and unethical conduct. They still failed to reply but finally they did respond - by sending me a 'credit note' to the value of my purchase.
My legal team again wrote to them pointing out that a credit note does not comply with their legal obligations and that I am entitled, both as a matter of law and of proper business practice, to a full refund to the original method of payment used for the transaction. My lawyer reminded them that the issuance of a credit note does not satisfy their legal obligations, nor does it represent an adequate or lawful response to my repeated and clear requests.
Without comment nor any reply, they finally issued a refund. Since then, no one has apologise or acknowledged any of my communications nor my complaint.
I know that not one single person at Public.gr will care about this review, so I am writing this review, not for them, but for the consumers as a warning to stay away from them. They do not deserve to be in business. They are a disgrace to the retail industry and an affront to the customer service industry.

We went to buy a kitchen mixer
We went to buy a kitchen mixer that was on display. They told us it was the last one and couldn’t be transferred from other stores, so we agreed to buy the display model. The staff wasn’t even sure if all the accessories were included, and when I asked if it could be cleaned and boxed (during Christmas time!), the answer was basically “we’ll see”.
No gift return was allowed because it was a display item, only the warranty. We paid €150 with a 10% discount (which seemed standard anyway). Checkout took forever, no one knew about the home delivery we requested, total confusion.
After we got home, they called saying they couldn’t find the box and offered a blue version instead. Then they called again saying the blue one costs more — same product, just a different color. On top of that, they removed the delivery option, meaning we’d have to go back ourselves.
Extremely disorganized service, poor communication, and a very frustrating experience overall.

I purchased a laundry machine 1 month ago that now broke down, a technician came (1 week later after reporting the issue), left my house flooded with water and used my personal belongings to put on the dirty balcony floor. After all of this, I got informed the laundry machine is broken and they need to replace a part, which will take about 20-30 business days! I'm in my first trimester of pregnancy and have some complications leading to me not being able to lift things, my partner is away for work, how do they expect me to do my laundry? I am a foreigner here, I don't have family I can ask to do my laundry ,we are now 2 weeks already without machine with a huge pile of clothes to be washed, this is unacceptable!
Failed service support
I have paid for a guarantee extension for my home appliances, one of which broke down and as per the terms, the technical team should have arranged an appointment to fix it within 48 hours. It has been now almost 10 days and noone has contacted me despite repeated calls. I have sent an official complaint.
