I give two stars as the Gravy in the ALL STEAK pies we bought was really nice , just a shame there was next to no steak in it , certainly not like the packaging suggested , tiny pieces of meat that small that you only knew they were there if you sucked the gravy through your teeth 🤦♂️I guess for a £1 each you get what you pay for .
PUKKA Please don`t respond as I am not really bothered about contacting you about 2 £1 pies , I left the review due to disappointment rather than annoyance.

I included the term regular customer to show that this isn't a one off, this is a consistent decline in quality.
I've been buying Pukka slices for years now, I travel a lot and always buy them as Airport food, as well as a quick snack now and then. And the decline in quality has been evident for a while now.
At first it was smaller things like removing the convenient cardboard insert to help with eating on the go, but the actual slice remained the same.
But the last couple of years the amount of filling has been getting reduced little by little, to the point that now they feel like 70/30 - 80/20% pastry to filling. And I actually find that unpleasant to eat. It's dry and it's bland.
Im autistic and tend to stick to familer foods, I think that's the only reason I've stuck with buying Pukka slices for so long, but that has meant, however, that for the last year, every time I've bought one I thought "maybe the last one was just bad, maybe this'll have more filling" only for it to have even less than last time.
To the point that now, I got a steak slice with one and a half bits of steak, barely any gravy, and a chicken and bacon slice that felt like eating cardboard there was so little filling.
I'm aware that so many companies are commuting shrinkflation atm, Pukka aren't unique, but they are a more egregious example imo.
For example, gingsters recently introduced a new range that's similar to the slices called pockets, I've been buying the Chinese salt and pepper pocket, and despite the fact it's smaller than the Pukka slices, it has WAY more filling and is cheaper to reflect the size.
There are now much better alternatives out there.
I'm also aware that customers are way more likely to leave feedback for a negative experience than for a positive one, but many food companies still manage to have a good rating here despite that, take one look at the recent reviews.
They all say the same thing for a reason...

Absolutely horrible steak and kidney pie. In small writing I noted that it said something like 'Minced Kidney' and you begin to wonder why. There was no taste of kidney at all and they must have minced it so finely it may have disappeared into the gravy. Never again. If this is the quality of their pies it couldn't be lower. Avoid at all costs

The worst filling to pastry ratio I have ever seen in any pie. I feel cheated, even scammed. I will send a photograph to the company if they reply to my direct complaint.

Individual steak pie had the tiniest amount of steak in it. Pretty much pastry and gravy pie. Do not recommend.

Avoid at all cost. And cost is the point.
Value for money is AWFUL. I bought a large size ‘All STEAK’ steak pie. You know what’s coming next, right?
Right.
‘All Grissle’ might be more appropriate, or maybe ‘Two bits of actual meat and a whole lotta pastry’.
Absolute garbage and a complete rip off. The sooner this company goes under the better.

Hardly any filling, mostly gravy. Filling had no solid meat or vegetables. Not worth the money.

Pukka Jamaican Jerk Chicken, taste nothing like Jamaica jerk. They should get a real Jamaican to show them how to Jerk. I have bought 6 Jerk chicken pies and was disappointed everytime. I have been eating Jamaican Jerk Chicken and Pork from 1973 and this is the worst imitation I ever had. I will not waste my money again. Please remove the Jamaican Jerk from your title because you giving it a bad name.

Since my original complaint and 1 star rating, I must compliment Kirsty from customer services. She was very professional, friendly and courteous which has prompted me to leave credit where it is due. Lovely person to deal with

Solid enough for the price I paid on offer.
A bit gloopy but definitely edible.
Worth the offer price but I'd be disgusted to pay the full price they were asking.

Unfortunately l have to give a star to write a review, l grew up eating pukka pies but oh my god, the steak bakes are by the worst l have ever tasted, followed instructions how to cook, came out a little burnt but there is practically no meat and no gravy inside, l certainly will not be buying these again and will just go to greggs in the future
Hey Pukka, get new cooks please, your food is absolutely shambolic now

Bought 2 Chicken and Mushroom Pies from Tesco as not had them in a while. I found 2 tiny pieces of chicken and the rest sauce. I am still waiting for the mushrooms. I would love to know their definition of Puff Pastry. They were truly awful and I will never buy again.

We normally purchase a Asda Chicken pie which is different I accept but similar size.We thought we would purchase a Pukka Chicken and Mushroom Pukka pie.Firstly I accept the cooking instructions are advisory but I set it in the bottom of our small oven on the recommended setting for twenty five minutes the crust across the top was burnt after this time so I question their recommendation. Secondly the content was very poor only a small amount of filling(Chicken and Mushroom)plenty of the sauce/gravy .On what we found certainly think twice before buying again .

Not a single piece of meat in the Pukka steak and pepper pie I tried, just gloopy thick gravy and pastry. What amazes me, is that anyone would ever buy one more than once. dreadful. I've had more meat in a nut roast

I was disappointed with the meat & gravy content as soon as the pie went in the oven the top sank, never seen that with the individual ones.
I have ordered the chicken and mushroom one to come on Wednesday I hope it is the same as the small pie as Pukka chicken and mushroom is my favourite with that back taste of pepper
Sometimes your better not reinventing the wheel stick to what your good at, most family size pies don't work

I brought the beef and vegetable pie. Expectations of the quality were not that high, and I wasn't disappointed. It far exceeded my disappointment. I cautiously cut into the pie; the smell should have warned me not to eat it, but I did, and it was awful. The smell of the pie lingered long after I had forced myself to eat it.
If you enjoy a pie with minimal filling and it tastes terrible, this pie is for you.
The rest have gone to feed the fox.
The chicken pies are okay.

How disappointing. Dry, pastry hard as a rock, very little meat.
