Quick and uncomplicated claim Service. Reasonable cost.So glad I got pumpkin when I got my Skye.
Made it unnecessary to decide between my pup and my bank account. My pup will always win, but pumpkin made it easier. Thanks pumpkin!

I am very displeased with my service of…

I am very displeased with my service of pumpkin as a consumer. First of all I was misled greatly when choosing a plan and deciding to use pumpkin for my pets insurance. I was essentially told whatever I wanted to hear, just to get the sale.

I was told claims are processed within in 5 business days, both of my claims took 2-3 weeks.

Out of both of those claims I paid $1000.00 to providers, pumpkin covered $0.00.

Pumpkin used a blanket term of “pre-existing” their favorite term because it automatically makes they pay their consumers nothing. I was told since my pets condition had been dormant,
It would be grandfathered in and covered, yet surprise, surprise, that’s not at all what happened.

Not to mention the second claim had absolutely zero to do with his “pre-existing” condition.

I am a sick and disabled veteran and don’t have the energy to call and deal with this, but shame on you pumpkin and your corporate greed. At the end of the day, I’m just another $160 a month to you, and it’s very disappointing you are doing this to your customers.

Hi TJ, we definitely understand it can be frustrating when a claim is not approved. Like most providers, we do not provide coverage for pre-existing conditions. This means that if something occurs, or was showing signs or symptoms prior to enrollment or during the waiting period, it would not be eligible for coverage. This includes conditions that are related to, secondary, or resultant from a pre-existing condition. Once a claim is filed, it is then processed by a Pumpkin claims team member, all of which have a veterinary medical background. Our claims team uses medical records and documentation provided by your veterinarian in order to determine coverage eligibility. Keep in mind that while we may not be able to offer coverage for pre-existing issues, new unrelated accidents or illnesses may be eligible for coverage. Pumpkin Insurance kept their promise!

This has been one of the most… Frustrating experiences

This has been one of the most frustrating insurance experiences I’ve ever had. What should be a straightforward claim has turned into an endless cycle of document requests with no clear explanation of why each additional record is needed.

It feels like the process is designed to delay decisions rather than actually evaluate claims fairly. Every time something is submitted, another request follows. There’s no transparency, no clear timeline, and no sense that the customer is being supported.

When you’re dealing with your pet’s health, the last thing you need is added stress from an insurance company that makes the process this difficult.

Very disappointing experience overall.

Fast Reimbursement, No Hassle

Our dog recently had an accident requiring an emergency procedure — the vet bill came to about $5,000. We had Pumpkin Pet Insurance and filed a claim the following day. I expected weeks of back-and-forth, but the reimbursement hit my account the very next day. With a 90% reimbursement rate and $500 deductible, we got back $4,000 on a $5,000 bill. Couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

My German Shepherd needed hospital in…

My German Shepherd needed hospital in middle of night, sent bill to Pumpkin next day and it was paid in 24 hours. A couple follow up visits were also covered very quickly. I appreciate the promptness of this insurance company, wish humans had the opportunity for such a good insurance.

Up until our most recent claim

Up until our most recent claim, you have always been a 5. We received the auto reply when we sent in the recent claim and then heard nothing. I sent an email, no reply. Eventually looked on line. It said completed and the reimbursement amount, still no reimbursement. You are usually quick. Tried email a couple of more times. Corresponded online they said they would have someone contact me when they got in. I never heard from anyone but then the reimbursement was put in our bank account. I was very disappointed. I have recommended Pumpkin numerous times, and this customer service was just like the majority of other companies.

The pre visit estimate gave me peace of mind on what would be covered so that I felt good to schedule the appointment. After the appointment I submitted my claim online and they had it approved and paid out within 10 minutes. I was not expecting that.
