Pure Gym is amazing value for money and the equipment is well maintained and clean. The staff are really supportive and responsive too.
I recently experienced a problem with a parking issue. Pure Gym Manager Stephen Radford took up the issue on my behalf and had it resolved really quickly. He communicated his progress professionally throughout the matter.
He is a great example of problem solving skills in all aspects of membership. Cheers Steve 👍

I was so anxious when I walked in and the trainer I can’t remember his name but he made me feel at ease and he very simply showed me how to use machines without making me feel he judged me in anyway and you have great variety of machines

Recently joined in January, the gym equipment has improved, cleanliness is outstanding. PT Luke & staff are dedicated to ensuring the gym equipment and areas are immaculate. Highly recommended as gym.

The gym has four bikes, which is perfect for people like my with joint issues as it’s low impact. All four bikes have issues. One has been broken for almost two months. Two have issues with straps which continuously come out, making them very hard to pedal. The other has awful tension so it feels like you are treading through mud and you can’t fix it. This gym massively requires people to fix the facilities. We pay for a fully equipped gym, not broken equipment.
UPDATE: still broken, what a surprise! This place is beginning to feel like a scam, what am I paying for?
UPDATE 2: Still broken, except they moved the broken sign off of one but it still doesn’t work. I’m just going to keep this up until this is fixed.

I have so many good things to say about this gym that I don't know where to start: the cleaning my God is extraordinary the machines are clean without dust, the showers are extremely clean and especially the toilet are my god! The women-only area is very inclusive and appropriate, the gym has good ventilation and aroma everything is so clean 😍 I feel so safe and confident I RECOMMEND IT 1000% if you have any hard you can come to see the machines and have a look around as I did and I didn't finish going out and I automatically got my membership

I lack willpower :) so I go the amazing classes at this gym at least 4 days a week. I genuinely think you won't get better trainers than Eddie, Kristian and a new person (I think Samer?) - they go up to every single person in each class and make sure they've got the right stance and doing the exercises correctly and they really push you. In a genuinely kind, inspiring way. The music's great too + they dim the lights in some classes so you can feel like you're in a club again like in your twenties :)))). I am a chubby lady who doesn't really enjoy exercise but I LOVE going to this gym and my body's completely changing because I'm consistent with the classes! BTW, these 3 names I've mentioned are the only trainers I've met, I'm sure the others are equally great!

It's fairly affordable, particularly for myself as Pure Gym offers a 10% discount for carers who have a carers card. The 24 hour times allow me to fit in a work out as and when it suits my busy life. There is a good choice of equipment and the gym and changing rooms are always clean and tidy.

The gym and the dedicated gym goers is good value for money and keeps you motivated to get fit! Nice energetic atmosphere

It's friendly and there is enough equipment about to share with the number of people who are there when I go. ( 09.30 weekdays)

Pure Gym equipment and machines are top draw. It’s always clean and a great atmosphere. Staff are friendly and helpful. The app service is good and the FB messaging service is brilliant for any queries. Also the web page is the first place to go if you can’t navigate the app. It’s a 5 Star gym all round. RR

Terrible behaviour to payments. Please be careful with your payments, and fyi paypal is easier to get a refund but not impossible with your bank.
I used puregym since a new store opened, literally since day 1 of opening and kept my gym membership active after being made redundandent in february this year. The gym really helped my mental health while going through this and as I had vitality with my ex employer, I had a discounted membership. This had been fine for months and with no prior warning, they have upped my payments 3 times the orginal price. From £15.99 to £46 passing the blame onto vitality, saying they should have notified me, not pure gym. Despite pure gym being the company who takes my money and spams my emails for everything else.
Asked for a full refund, to be told no. As some of the payment is also back payment from the previous month, as they have randomly decided when my membership went up.

I've been a member now since January 2026, I love how spacious the gym is, your never waiting for equipment and staff are very friendly. I've also got a PT martin timmins at Pontefract branch who is really knowledgeable on nutrition, training, physio, and is really good in helping me achieve my end goal, I love that it is open 24 hours so you can get there at any time🙂
