Raleigh Motus Low step

I have had the bike for 6 months now and can say it is everything I was expecting. Raleigh Motus Hub Low Step
has been great and is a quality product perhaps it was because I brought it from a local cycle shop who set it up perfectly (Samways in Wimborne in Dorset) which is why I have had a great experience.

Overpriced junk

Apart from the spokes nothing on those bikes in made in the UK. They pick the cheapest suppliers around the world and make their parts there. Even the company itself is not English, owned by Chinese. Raleigh bikes are hugely overpriced and make really poor quality products. Save yourself thousands and bike literally anything else but Raleigh

Raleigh not what they were honestly don’t by e bikes from them

Bought very expensive folding e bikes 26 months ago one of them stopped working 6 weeks out of warranty
Raleigh have told Halfords where I purchased them at £3200 for the pair that they cannot supply the electronic parts which have failed
These bikes are still on sale in the UK it is now up to me to try to source the correct parts or through the bike away
Halfords cannot order them but aere willing to fit them if I order them which I understand as they won’t have a n account with the 3rd party
I paid a premium for well known brand but it has been a kick in the teeth from Raleigh so think again folks you may as well buy s=cheap & hope for the best

Raleigh cycles

My partner bought a Raleigh electric foldaway cycle about a month ago from the Cycle King Benfleet before she took possession the manager said it will need a safety check which was done. When we got it home my partner tried it out which she had to terminate the handle bars were loose when she turned a corner and she went straight on. She phoned the shop and the manager told us how to tighten them since then it has happened numerous times and the bike is going back to the shop. Since then because the cycle wasn’t checked the electric cables have been cut
because of bad build quality and now the lights and electric pedalling assist doesn’t work. Summing up this bike didn’t have a safety check as the handle bars would have been tight she has lost confidence with this cycle it’s a bloody death trap

bought a stowaway folding bike

bought a stowaway folding bike, arrrived reflector light broken and bar bented.
clearly poorly packed with no protection and has been brutally handled in delivery.
I asked for a return and full refund, but they just sent me a spare reflector, without consulting me if it is an acceptable way to resolve the matter.
Wasting a lot of time and energy to deal with the damaged product.
I am not happy with the damaged bike but i am stuck with it now
Not a happy shopping experience
I will not recommend buying from them

10/10 support

I bought my ebike through Evans and had some issues with the app and some bits on the bike didn't seem right. I called their support line and spoke to someone based in the UK who talked me through the app and got it working. The bits on the bike that weren't right were of concern to them and posted out replacements at no extra cost. I was really happy with the way they dealt with my issues and I'm really happy with the bike I bought (Raleigh ONE).

In love with the new bike

I just bought the new Releigh ONE bike they launched recently , and absolutely love it. I had a small issue with connectivity at first, but the customer care was outstanding. Martin from support was patient, kind, and extremely understanding—even when I lost my temper. Every friend who’s seen the bike has complimented it, and honestly, it feels great to see heads turn when I ride by. Excellent product and even better service. May be app needs a bit more work.

Mostly OK but some BIG irritations

Ordered Motus Step through direct from Raleigh. Arrived safely and overall a good bike. 75 Nm motor smooth and powerful and worth the upgrade.
Bike cost £2300 and came without the chain guard shown in the current pictures for all the Motus bikes. Contacted Raleigh who told me the bike pictures are " for illustrative purposes only " .This is not an unimportant cosmetic change , chain guard is probably more important on a step through.
I think this obvious penny pinching change and the excuse is pretty outrageous. Perhaps I should be grateful that the wheels or saddle were not also just illustrations ?

Rebecca is a star

Rebecca from Raleigh/Accell support team was incredible.

I had a problem with a motor in my bike. Since replacement part was not available, I was offered a new bike up the stack, and a collection of the old one. Everything was quick and smooth. The new bike arrived in slightly banged up box (thanks, you complete bufoons from DX). Everything inside was fine, other than a banged up bell. Rebecca offerred that I will take the bike to a shop for a service to make sure everything is okay and, without even telling me, sent me a new lovely bell that is still on the bike to this day.

I cannot recommend Raleigh enough. With the support staff like this, any trouble you can get will be resolved to a full satisfaction.

Low quality avoid.

Bought Raleigh ( Wellgo) trekking pedals.
The bearings were so overtightened, they could hardly be turned.
I stripped and readjusted the bearings correctly applying good quality grease correct for the application.
After a 10 mile ride, there is >1mm play in the bearings.
I am going to throw these pedals away and won't buy anything Raleigh branded in future.
Clearly Raleigh is just a marketing name to sell low quality far East sourced rubbish.

Very disappointed in Raleigh

Very disappointed in Raleigh, and you think names still stand for something they clearly don't. I ordered a bicycle for my daughter's birthday; it arrived in an open box with multiple points of damage and missing items. It's an absolute disgrace. After phoning them to tell them I've refused the delivery due to the state of the packaging and the bicycle itself, they tell me it will take another six days to send a replacement, so my daughter won't receive her birthday present in time. So thanks a lot to whoever decided to throw the box around; I hope you're proud of yourself. You've ruined a little girl's birthday, and there wasn't even an offer of a different delivery service to speed things up. I even offered to pay; your customer service is terrible. Raleigh used to mean something, the reason I purchased there in the first place, but it seems it's the same as everywhere else these days: a scam, money-grabbing, with no care for customers.

Raleigh Array awful quality!

Brought a Raleigh array bike in Jan and had nothing but issues. Fair enough with wear and tear on brakes etc you can get fixed, but bolts have been dropping off left right and centre. Also my back wheel is buckled to hell and I only ride 10-15 mins to work. The back tyre has also stretched and ripped. Absolute terrible build quality! Wished I never touched this bike now and invested in a cube or something.

Poor quality bike

We took delivery of a Raleigh chopper which cost £999 and nowhere near worth it. It arrived with no pedals and the chain guard hanging off and chipped paintwork. So I rang Raleigh up and the answer was take some pictures and send to them and they will look into it. So I said I will return it for a refund and they didn’t care or apologise. I will not be purchasing anything from Raleigh again

Best Customer Service Ever !!!

With even the best engineering in the world, sometimes things go wrong and that is when good companies shine and bad companies get really bad reviews.
In the case of Raleigh/Haibike after 12 months we had an unfortunate manufacturing issue. Raleigh/Haibike customer service namely Rebecca Houlden, was exceptional in organising collection of the bike, tracking its return, liaising with the retailer and organising a refund.
Raleigh may be a bike manufacturer and retailer but they provide a Rolls Royce level of service both in sales and aftersales service to its customers.
It is very rare to say this but even though we had an unfortunate issue Raleigh/Haibike were very quick indeed to put things right. From my much prized Retro Raleigh Chopper to cutting edge E Bikes this company has not lost its edge.
Buy with confidence knowing that Raleigh/Haibike and Rebecca Houlden and the whole team will fix problems not cause them.
Fingers crossed for a retro-Raleigh Grifter in Red.
Thank you to everyone at Raleigh excellent customer service is what sets you apart from the rest.
Thanks again to Rebecca
Very Best
Ron

Very poor quality

Very poor quality. The bicycles look nice but after a short time things start to fall apart. And not just in a poorly bolted together but the metal is just terrible quality. Within 6 month the bracket that hold up the mud guard had eroded away. On the other bicycle the M8 bolt holding up the saddle snapped in half while riding. It's a shame they make their bikes from such poor materials.

Superb

Superb, one of the world’s oldest and most trusted bicycle brands, ordered a Chopper mk4 online which was delivered in perfect condition and is a spectacular machine, stunning in every way and fantastic workmanship, a credit to the company.

Horrendous customer service

Bought the bike online for my daughter’s birthday, with 2 weeks notice. Details on the website and the confirmation says the lead time is 3-5 business days and there will be a confirmation email when dispatched. Over a week had passed and it was now the Monday of the following week (9 days since order), I contacted through the website to ask for an update.

My daughter’s birthday was the upcoming Saturday and I was keen to know that the bike would be arriving. I was told that there had been delays in the factory (this was the first we were told) and the bike would be dispatched on the Wednesday. At this point I asked if I could pay for expedited delivery as it was cutting it fine for it to arrive. I was reassured by customer service that the bike would be dispatched on the Wednesday and it would arrive either Thursday or Friday.

On Thursday, I contacted again as I had still not received any delivery details. This time I was told that the delivery company (DX) have not been communicating to customers but the bike was definitely dispatched on Wednesday.

On the Friday, I called the customer service team keen to find out if the bike would be arriving for my daughter’s birthday. This is now nearly 2 weeks since the order. I was told on the phone that the bike was in fact dispatched on Thursday and it’s a 48 hour delivery service, therefore it wouldn’t be arriving until the Monday (after my daughter’s birthday).

I pleaded with the customer service team to see if there was anything that could be done, including (again) me offering to pay for next day delivery. I was told this couldn’t be done as the bike was set for a two man delivery and would therefore be delivered on Monday. The bike was not delivered by two men so this was yet another lie.

The bike eventually arrived, however you get no tools provided to put it together, despite the instructions saying that you do.

I have complained to Raleigh in email and asked for a call regarding the issue, nearly a week has passed since I complained and I have had no reply and no phone call which is outright rude.

The customer service and lack of communication regarding the order is horrendous, I was truly disappointed that I have been lied to continuously and would certainly not be buying another bike through them again.
