Poor RBC branch experience.

Just came from TD bank - 5tellers on and 2 clients in line. The. Visited RBC across the road on Willowbrook Dr langley. As usual 3 tellers and the line up was out the door. The bank machines were off line. Terrible experience. RBC should focus less on selling us product and more on customer experience.

RBC discrimination

Aucune gene.

This message is for STUDENTS and MINORITIES. I ask you to pay attention to the due date of your student loan because this dishonest bank does not send any email or letter to notify you of the repayment of your loans. They deduct directly from your bank account without your knowledge. So, if you don't have any funds, you'll soon find yourself overdrawn. In my case, they used the excuse that they didn't have my contact details to send me the notice, even though I'd received my new credit card in the post. They don't have your contact details to send you useful information, but they don't mind harassing you with bogus survey-related e-mails. No embarrassment. Then every time I called for information, I was either hung up on, told that a supervisor would call me back but never did, or asked to go to the bank. I went to the branch on boul. Chambly in Longueuil, Quebec and the agent (a black man) planted me at the counter to answer his cell phone. A white employee (the savior) saved the day. As luck would have it, it's the minority people (divide and conquer) who commit these misdeeds. It's all done expressly to fool the world. If that's not racism, what is it? So, I wasn't born in Quebec, I'm not entitled to services (Ouin ouin)? Please don't pay any attention to their usual mumbo jumbo during Black History Month, because behind the scenes they couldn't be more racist (pay attention to what they do). When challenged about the situation, they see you as a threat and this causes them discomfort or racial stress, even if they threaten your integrity and values such as diversity/equity and inclusion on a daily basis. Their so-called discomfort is a weapon used to perpetuate racism. You'll see when you lodge a complaint they redouble their efforts and do worse, as if to defy you. Unfortunately, there are no impartial resources that can put an end to this kind of abusive situation (they agree to let it happen). So I ask new immigrants not to let themselves be fooled by slogans that aim to attract them in order to abuse them with impunity. A well-informed man is worth two !

Rbc has the worst customer service I've…

Rbc has the worst customer service I've ever seen with any major institution, regardless financial or otherwise. I could not speak to an agent when dialing in using any of their local or 1-800 number. It is a horrible consumer experience that makes you question why you even bank with an institution that is not consumer friendly. I am considering moving my business to other institutions as a result of the last half hour

Infuriating experiences with RBC.

Infuriating experiences with RBC.
i repeatedly get the message "technical difficulties" when I try to log in to do my banking. But not always, so clearly there isn't an issue with my computer software etc, etc. When I search their site for how to make a complaint - it tells me to log in to do so! So, instead I call the customer (dis)service department, struggle through being forced to enter a client card, a mystery pin (won't accept mine), and endless questions to confirm my identity BEFORE even speaking to anyone - only to be told there is no problem. I'M TELLING YOU.....THERE IS A PROBLEM!!!

Bad and expensive services

I spent 20 minutes on the support line only to be told that I had to visit a branch in person because I asked to transfer my RRSP for a downpayment of my new house. But they weren’t able to book an appointment in town because there were no available slots entire week. I was advised to try at the branch.

When I arrived at the branch, I waited in a line for at least half an hour, only to be told by the bank staff that they wanted to fit me in, but all the specialists were currently in meetings. I was politely brushed off. I then asked if they could check later and left my phone number with them. They didn’t call back.

Not to mention that transferring to another bank takes 5-7 days. If I want the money sooner, I have to open an account with them, which I don't want to do because I don't want to pay extra fees and make unnecessary double transfers when paying for the house.

I am extremely concerned that I cannot access my funds when I need them and I’m pushed to products that I don’t want.

RBC Managed Payout Solution Mutual…

RBC Managed Payout Solution Mutual fund. Do not get this fund. The fund manager Sarah Rapiolle is useless. She’s been the fund manager for at least 20 years and in her hands the fund does nothing but lose money. They just don’t care at all. I originally put in $300k and it’s now down to $245k. Industrial Alliance insurance segregated funds operate at 12%. They are so much better. I can’t get out of the RBC fund because they’ve lost all my capital the fund manager should have been fired years ago. My brother who is an accountant said our RBC investments are terrible. You have been warned do not touch any RBC mutual funds with a barge pole they don’t care about increasing your capital.

Virtual Assistant = JOKE!

I don't bank with RBC due to a personal preference and which may be a good thing reading all theses online complaints, but I had a car loan with them which l recently paid off in full 2 weeks ago. l just noticed they're still debiting my account for the loan amount. l called every single phone number available online and everything leads to a joke called "virtual assistant"... being that l don't have a credit or debit card with them l cannot get passed this "virtual assistant" to actual talk to someone about this issue. Get your crap in order, RBC. People want to chat with people, not some stupid virtual assistant...
l was lucky enough to chat with an actual person in the collection department, which they weren't able to help me one bit with my issue and then the lady forwarded me to Customer Care which ended up being the "virtual assistant"... again back into the clown show...

The worst bank I have ever encountered

The worst bank I have ever encountered. It is almost comical how diabolical this bank is. I have had issue after issue, but the latest one is opening a business account and after 4x “attempts” to send my client card and 5 months later … still not arrived … thank goodness I still have access to my European banking accounts that are in the 21st century. AVOID THIS BANK AT ALL COSTS!

RBC STOLE my money after 46 years of banking there...and after Appealing to them-Kept my money!!

RBC after over 46 years of my giving them my banking, mortgages, visa cards (plenty of high interest paid), giving them clients, investments through RBC Dominion Securities - they have robbed me again. I travel and EVERY time - I call and let them know I will be travelling - still my card never works... I call and call and No one helps me. I needed to pay bills online and they started asking me to scan QR codes, scan my passport - NO!!!! I have 7 different services and have over 46 years and still they treat me like a fraudster!! Maybe they should take care of great clients like me - I was unable to pay bills (that I pay every month)... I always get the code sent to my phone and that security works well - but after being charged interest on many bills - I asked to be reimbursed on Home depot no pay for a year - that pays a huge amount if you missed the date!! Because NO ONE at the bank would help me - offered no solutions and after I tried to claim (FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 46 YEARS) - they declined. All the interest from being forced to do cash advances on my credit card since my interact card would never work - they did not help me AT ALL!!!!! I am trapped as my RRSPs are there and my mortgage so I can't leave them (yet) RBC DS also cashed in all my investments without my authorization (because the account mgr got a promotion and could only have people over $1M) therefore she dumped me and cost me over $55,000!!!! Garbage service - Corporate giant with 14 Billion in profits - rapes the little guy!! And has a nice person call and say 'Sorry', send you a survey and think it's OK. I am on way to tell 500 people personally about this - we have to find a way to stop this corporate mis-treatment!! Please find a Credit Union or other bank (Not TD) to entrust your money to! I have been treated like garbage here.

DEBANKED without warning or reason after 30 years as a customer.

After being an RBC customer for over 30 years - with multiple business and personal accounts, they sent me letters cancelling every single account (DEBANKED) with no reason given. Despite attempting appeals, or even trying to get an answer as to why there were just more levels of incompetence to deal with. Never got a reason - just forced to find a new bank for every account. They are an unfeeling corporate monster - and I highly recommend everyone look at switching to a more personal bank like ATB or local credit union.

When I received my payroll deposit

When I received my payroll deposit, I took a mental note of the total on that date on my R.B.C. App. A few days later, after several purchases I acquired a paper statement and the total after the payroll deposit (paper statement) did not match the total on the app total, it was about $40. Less. And this in not the only time this happened, there were other times my account was short missing funds, though they are small amounts, they are still missing. Being a big procrastinator, I didn't do anything about it, till now, I went
Into the bank and told the teller.I know you won't be able to solve the problem and you cannot do nothing about it. I know the total i saw and that you won't be able to do anything about it,I realized that, But I took a mental note at the amount and it did not match in the written statement and it's missing forty bucks at that time. They offer you $300 to open an account there with a few requirements. But the more than got that three hundred dollars back from me out of my account. I told the bank teller, I will not use my card for 30 to 60 purchases ever again, I will take 2 or 3 k out and use that, keep ing trake of my account from now on and told him R.B.C. Will not be able to rip me off ever again!! Furthermore near the time I opened the account with them, they sent me an email saying that " you are checking your account too much on the app, I was really missed at that, what right do they think they have to tell me that in an email!? I can't believe i'm wishing god damn crooked bank right now!

All the best if you have to deal with Pathetic RBC credit card customer service.

Had bad experience with RBC credit card customer service. In summary, there was a payment made towards outstanding balance, however RBC didnt had that record and send me an email about the payment for outstanding amount. Upon clarifying about this payment made, the customer rep still was stubborn on the outstanding payment ( without deducting the payment amount made).
More details below
I had RBC credit card which was roughly having balance of 1603$ in the month of April. As part of debt consolidation, TD had made a payment for 1603 on 19th April, but RBC claimed that they have not received this payment and projected me as missed to do the payment and sent me a letter about outstanding balance with 45$ + 12 $ as interest. I also visited the RBC bank on Thursday evening and got a printout from front desk (as my card is closed i could not view under my account) and that too didnt showed the payment made.
I made a call to customer Representative on Friday around 11 AM MST, and she at first confirmed that there was no payment done in April and balance is 17xx (( as I had made some transaction before the card got closed till 9th May). Then when I talkked about debt consolidation, she then said yes, she could see payment on 19th for 1603.
All I was saying to that lady rep was without payment of 1603, the outstanding was showing as 17xx. Now if RBC consider this payment then the outstanding would be less than 500. But THIS SIMPLE thing lady rep was not able to understand, As a customer I tried to understand her point of view and those were , I had still progressed to use the card since 19th (( the date when TD made payment) For which I asked her cross question, will that amount for those transaction done past 19th will make it still to 1700 ( because there were small amount transaction, which i beleive shouldnt be more that 300$) . SHE SAID YES . I again asked here Intially the outstanding as per letter received on 20th june 2024, was 170x.xx and if there was a payment for 1603 on 19th, with some transaction done past 19th ( may be 300$), will it still be 170x... ? SHE SAID YES.

I have been in Canada for more than 10 years, this is first time as hearing something like this, where service rep is not able to understand what customer is saying. Pathetic

-----
Since I didnt received any communication for my request posted on 22nd, did a follow up today, 26th june and received a response . Here it goes
-- [ abstract from RBC message ] start --
Based on information provided to us, our understanding was that your complaint was related to the following:
A claim of rude behaviour by an employee.

As discussed, the following outcomes occurred / were confirmed when attempting to address your complaint:
Thanked client for feedback and advised complaint would be recorded.
-- [ abstract from RBC message ] end --

They said, as discussed ? they havent discussed anything about this with me .

So dont expect that messaging anything with RBC will help your problem. Its a waste of time in spending time in writing about this under RBC online account. Instead post in public forum so that atleast it helps someother about the consequences.

I’ve been with RBC over 23 years and if…

I’ve been with RBC over 23 years and if there was ever a problem the ladies at my local branch were always there to help. If I have to call customer service they tell me exactly what I need to ask for at the branch to save time which I appreciate. Everything has always worked the way I wanted it to and I love having the ability to do whatever I need on the RBC app without always stepping into the bank. If you like having complete control over your accounts RBC makes it easy.

What a headache

What a headache. RBC bought out HSBC Canada and my accounts were transferred. One of these accounts moved to RBC British Pound eSavings. Recent statements however does not show this account. I contacted RBC by phone but the agent could not see the account and the recommendation was to go to a branch. This is where the problem starts. Simply walking into a branch will likely be a time wasting undertaking, so I tried to setup an appointment? In order to do so, you must have an online mobile account. To set this up, one needs to accept RBCs online terms and policies which are very intrusive and I refuse to accept. No other option is offered. After much searching, there does not appear to be an easy way to contact this bank. Not even direct email to a general customer service agent. As a result of this experience, I will be looking to close all my accounts, once I can find a way to contact the bank.
