Every time I think it can’t get worse, RBC sinks even lower

Every time I have anything to do with this bank it is an exercise in abject futility. RBC should stop using the term, “service” to refer to the appallingly inadequate customer experience they subject their clients to.

The app and online experience is so limited as to be virtually useless.

Telephone banking is even worse. Their security questions are designed to make you fail and then they end the call without ever telling you which question you got wrong. After several attempts I came to figure out that the branch listed on my statements was not the branch they had on record for me so there was no way I could pass their security screening.

Invariably I am advised to go to a branch to solve the issues they have created. Even when I tell them it is either a 3-hour plane trip or a 16-hour drive to get to the closest branch they can offer no other options.

I am switching all of my accounts and investments to CIBC because it took me less than an hour to download the app, create an account, order a bank card, and transfer funds into my account. My account is immediately accessible for debit transactions on my phone.

RBC has been so exasperatingly inadequate to my very simple banking needs that I can’t get my money out of this institution fast enough.

If it were possible to give negative stars I would.

Garbage telephone call customer service

Will give Negative number of stars if by all means possible. Their AI dominated phone call customer service is just a piece of garbage in any sense, providing no value what so ever to customer. At today's time, if a customer calls, it's about something not a so called AI can solve. Just get a capable REAL human being. Shouldn't it be that simple. Not just a stupid Ai telling you to go to the website. Anyway, whoever decided and or implemented this Ai customer service, is a moron, SOB. It does not help customer in any way. Waiting for one more frustration to leave this company that never care about customer but just SAYS they do.

Excellent service when we needed credit cards

We received really excellent and fast service when we urgently needed credit cards for our trip to the US in September of this year. The process was painless and the immediate action saved us hundreds of dollars though flight specials.
Special thanks to Calvin Yip who always assists us with fast, friendly, and professional service!

Worst investment I ever made

Worst investment I ever made. Invested in RRSP 50K, I came from Congo, this was all my savings. In 3 month they said - I cannot withdraw the money and offered me credit line - I took it, I needed to send the money to my parents. They block my transfer and after 1 week talking to the bank manager - they said that credit line is not available anymore. Right now I have no money.

Long waiting times and poor service

I’ve been with RBC for several years now, and it’s been a frustrating experience, to say the least. If you ever need support, brace yourself for a minimum 3-hour wait time on the phone. The irony? If you call the sales line, they’ll pick up in minutes. Clearly, RBC prioritizes getting new customers over supporting their existing ones.

The online banking platform feels like it’s stuck in the early 2000s. It’s clunky, outdated, and lacks the basic functionality you’d expect from a modern bank. To make matters worse, the fees are ridiculously high for the level of service provided. RBC is clearly behind the times, and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

If you’re considering banking with RBC, I’d strongly advise looking elsewhere unless you enjoy long wait times and paying premium fees for subpar service.

I wish I could give 0 stars

I wish I could give 0 stars. This bank is pure garbage they issue temporary cards that work nowhere and are useless, been waiting for my card for 3 weeks. Was in a branch twice yesterday for 3 hrs my card still doesn’t work today. I tried to go online now the fraud dept after I was on hold for another 49 minutes tells me it’s a in branch security issue I must visit a branch. I work oil and gas there are no branches 9.9/10 places I work, I’m gone 30 days at a time. I don’t think they are the worst bank I think they are the worst business I’ve ever dealt with as far as a complete pain at every turn it’s more than an inconvenience to be shut off from your money when you work on the road I’ve literally gone days without food on multiple occasions what do they say? We are sorry, well I’m so glad your sorry how bout you get with the times get rid of garbage temporary cards, bring blockchain crypto and ai into your horrible business and get a grip with your security already I’ve entered my credentials and one time codes 40 times still don’t have access to my money I work my bag off for 16 hours a day rain shine or 40 below. So done with RBC PURE GARBAGE.

British Airways RBC Visa - Complete Scam

Applied and got the RBC British Airways VISA card with RBC for the bonus British Airways AVIOS Points. According to the card, when you 'dine out' you are supposed to earn 2 AVIOS points per $ spent. However, what they don't tell you, is that it only depends on how VISA classify the business. It does not matter how much you complain or PROVE that you have spent money on dining out and show them the restaurants you ate at, they just will not do anything. In July & August, in 4 transactions (four restaurants), i spent $2165.26 which should have been almost 4330 AVIOS points. They classed 3 restaurants as "Groceries", and 1 restaurant as "Travel". How is this even possible? They simply turn around and blame VISA and say there is nothing they can do. I would not have EVER used this card for these expensive meals had i have known, My AMEX Platinum would have been a million times better in terms of rewards. Not to mention this RBC BA VISA carries an annual fee of $165. It is an utter and complete SCAM and RBC do NOTHING to help at all. I am fuming.

Rbc Markham area will not rent out SDB to customers

Hotline agents don't know how to communicate clearly and some dont even speak fluently.

I was rejected for safety box rental at all branches in Markham area (Macowan and Bullock dr.) The branch manager never call back to tell me weather they have sdb or not. Even hotline agents named casar and Alex i spoke to told me those branch has lots of safety boxes appear on the system.

RBC has the worst customer service…

RBC has the worst customer service ever! They put you on hold for hours, transfer you to the incorrect department and then puts you on hold for another hour before it abruptly disconnects. This has happened every time I call them.

Rbc sucks

My father had a loan with rbc for my car he just passed earlier this year. I had everything done, and they were paid in full for the amount owing on my car. Here's the issue because it was paid in full I had overpaid for 5 months and trying to talk to someone was absolutely ridiculous and being hung up on, can't get information needed to speak with my father who's deceased, how would like to speak with him???

After that ordeal I finally said just give me a phone appointment because this is getting me nowhere, they called today telling me the amount is lesser than what was actually paid into the loan, I said that's not right, you can't pay me less amount then what was paid told me I was yelling, no had you on speaker to confirm weather or not I was correct and I'm a loud talker. I had enough and told them to email I rather not speak with them and she hung up.
