They were on time, professional and did a great job on explaining what was wrong and how they would be able to fix it.

Needed emergency electrician who came out and didn’t check one simple check and the engineer blamed the error on the boiler so hundreds of pounds on getting boiler engineer out who wasn’t needed. It took a few attempts at communication but the company has now refunded me part of their cost which has helped.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Called as I had a water leak. Was told the call out fee was £95 and the cost per half hour £105. At no point was it said those amounts excluded VAT.

Plumber arrived within an hour. Problem was quickly identified but he needed to get parts - which took about an hour (there is no incentive to work quickly). Job started at 8.30 and finished at 11.07am - but, charged up to 11.30 (as you pay for a full half hour even if you only use 1 minute - in my case 7 minutes).

Total cost was £915. To replace a ball cock in the tank in our loft. Website says TrustATrader score is 4.8 out of 5 (based on 60 reviews). It’s what caused me to use them in the first place. When you go to TrustATrader you can’t find Rennils.

I have reported to trading standards. On this occasion, I’m going to chalk down to my own foolishness - you tend not to make great decisions when you’ve got water pouring through your ceiling. But, I hope that no-one else uses this firm.

Having been badly let down by another 24/7 emergency plumbing service, Rennils stepped in to the rescue and were not only there within the hour (at 9pm) but had already fixed the problem. Great communication with the plumber and the customer support line too. Very impressed and will use again.

I called to and ask is they do call outs for non emergency, this woman said yes in broken english, the call out will £50, and £85 an hour.
The electrian kept stalling and taking his time and told me it would 85 per half an hour. I was like ok... this company is setup to confuse and con you out of money.

I keep an eye because he kept taken call and was clealy trying to extend his time.

When is was all finished, the woman calls me to tell the total is £540, I thought it was was to much just to wire up a bathroom fan. I just thought whatever fine. My card is charged £540, then later another £60?? Then they invoice me for £600?? I called to query and she just started shouting at me down the phone, i cancelled my and opened a pay dispute with my bank. DO NOT USB THEM.

The electrician came on time and seemed to have sorted the issue but within two hours, the same problem occurred again. The part that required replacing cost £18 and was a simple change of a switch. Because it took 2hours for the electrician to find the issue, I was charged £520 for a problem that is not sorted. They advertise their services as affordable and I completely disagree, I feel that they make sure they take time to find the issue so they can charge you the maximum. They do announce their fees on the phone indeed, but they do not tell you that VAT is not included. I will not be using their services again and I would not recommend them. I don’t know many trades that would charge £250/hour, it is robbery and a use of people’s desperate situations. Also do not trust their positive rating and reviews on the website, they clearly select which to count but online you can find many other negative reviews similar to this one.

The plumber who came was polite and arrived quickly. They tell you on the phone the call out fee is £69 and that they will tell you the remainder of the fee once the plumber has assessed the requirements.
Upon arrival I learned that in addition to the callout fee of £69, the per hour cost is £195.
I had a small leak from a loose pipe in my new kitchen but the plumber would not commit to completing in an hour so I agreed to pay for one hour and then ask him to stop. Luckily, it was a loose fitting as I suspected and he finished the job in 30 mins or less. He then calls the office to agree the work is complete and they email an invoice immediately and the plumber waits for you to pay online before leaving. All in all £348. That includes VAT along with a hidden £26.40 admin charge they don't mention at any point. Pricey for 30 mins work at over £100 per 10 minutes. I can't say if they would cope well with bigger jobs. The guy was nice - the job is done - but the whole experience feels a bit scammy.

Very happy with their services. Called them for an electrical problem, arrived on time and resolved the issue very quickly. The electrician was polite and friendly. Definitely will recommend them to friends and family.

Engineer called us and helped to isolated the leak and arrived on time.
Leak was repaired within 40 mins of arrival and tested. Engineer kept us updated through the job and very happy with professional service provided once more by this company. Recommend !!

Booked for a one hour emergency appointment but after phone calls their technician came in about three hours. However on a Sunday in the UK now you are lucky to get anybody to come out at all! The guy who arrived was very efficient and sorted our problem, and although we had to wait a bit and make a few phone calls to find out when he actually was coming, he did an excellent professional job and we were very satisfied with the service.
