The convenience of RTR is awesome, and I’ll definitely use the service again, but the dress and purse that I got this time around need to be taken out of commission. The dress was obviously worn by so... See more

The sizing is off and the quality of some of the clothes isn’t the best.

The best customer service! Quick response, understanding and helpful. It's always easy dealing with RTR.
RTR never disappoints, it’s my go to for events. I like shopping from their designer closet so I never have to wear the same thing twice.
Love Rent the runway. I've only had 1 issue since I've been a member. The issue was resolved quickly
I love RTR. the styles are up to date. I get to dress up for any occasion without a closet full of dated dresses. If I ever have an issue, the customer service team are always eager to help. Ver friendly team
I have been a member of RTR for more than a year. They usually don't have the right size in stock. When I have received a great piece, there is usually something wrong with it like the button falls off or a tie is broken. I tried to cancel my membership in November. I never received any email cancellation about it. I had major surgery the next week and wasn't thinking about it and didn't recontact them. Honestly, I wasn't sure my cancellation went through since THEY NEVER EMAILED OR TEXTED ME... until yesterday when they said if I didn't return the items THAT DAY they would charge me for the cost of all of them. I was at the airport going to a work function so that was not possible. I tried to negotiate with ELISA via email but she would not accomodate me returning the clothes the next business day without charging me. I have already been charged over $1600.
All in all, their inventory and customer service suck. Would not recommend. I have also been a customer or stitch fix and Nordstrom's monthly membership (before it was discontinued). Nordstrom's was the best. RTR is the worst. Not worth the price. You pay $150-250 to receive clothes that don't fit and you don't wear.

Response to Reply: When an item is past its return date and not yet returned that should kick off an immediate notification to the next customer that they need to pick a replacement style, and give them only options available now (already cleaned and waiting to be shipped). The fact that I wasn't notified until evening the day before I was supposed to receive my dress either means:
1. Someone dropped the ball on notifying me when the dress wasn't returned on time by the previous client
2. You leave less than 24 hours between rentals to receive the return, clean it, check its condition, and get it back in the mail.
Going to guess 1. And your response does not take accountability for that error. A free rental for a future date on top of a refund would have made sense. If that is problematic, because it happens so frequently, then you have major issues in your model.
On November 10 I paid to rent a dress for my black tie event December 13. It wasn't cheap, but a nicer dress than I could afford to actually purchase, so I picked my style and selected my complimentary two sizes and placed the order to arrive 12/11. On 12/10 at 5:01 p.m. I get a text saying I have one hour to pick a different dress as mine is cancelled due to late return and damage from previous renter. Um, what? Shouldn't it already be in the mail? I also missed the one hour window because I was out to dinner and didn't check my phone right away. Why didn't they notify me when the dress wasn't returned on time? Why last second when it should have arrived in less than 24 hours? No answers from their customer service, just a refund and a lame offer of 20% off my next rental or a free exchange with no guarantee it will arrive for my event. Another person going to the same event also used the service but they ordered more than one style of dress so when one was also cancelled on their order they were still covered. That's fine, but then charge the same fee for multiple dresses to prevent these issues, not more money so I can guarantee the service I already paid for. It shouldn't be a gamble for the service you advertise. Poor first experience and lame customer service.

I’m a new customer and my experience has always been excellent. When I needed help with my orders they were always polite and professional. Still learning to shop. I would always invite new customers to try Rent The Runway
I give them a 5 Star 🌟
Both of the sweaters I ordered are completely shrunk. The arms barely reach my forearm.

Every item has been great and if it wasn't then they sent me a replacement. Such a great company.
Customer service is amazing! I hose just had a couple items I couldn't wear due to a flaw. They just need to double check items before shipping.
I would give negative stars if I could but not because of thw actual service, because of a shocking incident in which my husband and I were racially profiled.
We went to the pop up store in the Seaport district of Boston because they were having a big sample sale. Upon entering there was a coat and bag check which we bypassed because we didn't think we would be there long. I heard another customer ask if it was mandatory to check bags and coats and she was told not really. I was wandering around with my husband for a few minutes when a woman ran up to me from the back and said oh you need to go check your bag and coat and so does he, its mandatory. They saw you on the camera and told me. Hmmmm okay well I wasnt happy but I'm not one to be confrontational so my husband and I went and checked them in and then went back to browsing. Not 30 seconds after I turned around I saw at least 3 women in oversized coats and someone with a backpack!
Now let me explain that I am a white woman and my husband is Hispanic but he is very dark skinned. I was carrying a Louis vuitton bag and wearing Gucci jewelry. I have money. So does my husband. We are both government employees. Clearly I would think I that would signal I dont need to steal, nor does he. But yet there we were, BEING RACIALLY PROFILED BECAUSE OF HIS SKIN COLOR. Disgusting!!!! There is absolutely no other explanation why we were approached and forced to check our things when the managers had to have seen other people wuth big coats and bags and did NOTHING.
We left quickly and I said point blank to the guy at the coat check to tell his managers to make sure they pull everyone aside who had a big bag and coat and that was absolutely did not feel good about what had just happened. I left, in tears. It was so wrong. Neither of us needed to be made to feel like that, especially over clothes that arent even new, they've already been worn God knows how many times and they are probably not even in season!
I just want to put this out there for others to know about. That rent the runway has people working under their name that behave this way in 2025. It's not okay, EVER. I have never used RTR and sure as hell never will now.

I first used RTR last year to find a dress for my company Christmas party. It was the best dress I’ve ever worn! The deals and discounts were amazing and provided me a chance to wear a dress I’d never would have found myself! I knew this would be how I find special dresses, jewelry and outfits from now on. The offers are incredible and the selection is mind blowing. Customer service is excellent! They are quick to respond with the answers I need. I’m very excited about the dress for this year’s party. Also, the deals that give me a chance to purchase items are unbelievable.
They are wonderful. Always respond right away and are so pleasant to work with. Truly, my favorite customer service experience of any company and I feel like they always do the right thing.
In a society where customer service seems to have fallen to the wayside RTR keeps it top of mind. I've consistently been pleased with all my rentals, but if there is a rare issue it has been resolved quickly and thoroughly. Quality is always there and I'm a dedicated customer because of it.
My concerns were addressed promptly and resolved. Feedback was asked and the clothing was replaced.
It took over a week to respond and I still have to make two trips to the post office
