We unfortunately only understood this fully when we arrived. Like most smaller Italian rental agencies, this company only accepts a credit card without the full insurance coverage. If you show up and don’t have a credit card / only a debit card, you have to purchase full coverage car insurance which ended up nearly doubling the cost of our rental. We were completely stuck with no other option and had to swallow the bill. While they did apparently state this in the fine print, it was not explained clearly enough. We did read it beforehand but didn’t understand that we would have to purchase full coverage and I put that down to a lack of clarity for English speakers/tourists.
Also, when we arrived, apparently our petrol meter had gone down a bit so we had to get all the way back in the car and leave the airport to refuel maybe €5.00 to avoid extra charge.
Completely inflexible and frustrating experience. I’d go with a larger more trusted company in future that accepts debit cards because even though this one seemed cheaper it ended up costing us just as much in the end.

We would like to clarify that both on the booking voucher and on our official website it is clearly stated that we only accept traditional credit cards as a security deposit for car rentals. This policy is standard practice among many rental companies and is in place to guarantee proper coverage and vehicle protection. In the absence of a valid credit card, the only alternative is the purchase of full insurance coverage, which is precisely what was offered to you in order to ensure that you could still receive a vehicle and not be left without transportation. We consider this solution a way to accommodate our customers under such circumstances, rather than a restriction. The terms and conditions are written in English as well, and while we strive to be as transparent as possible, it remains the customer’s responsibility to carefully read the rental conditions provided at the time of booking.
With respect to the fuel issue, please note that according to the signed rental agreement and our company policy, if a vehicle is returned or delivered without a full tank, we are entitled to charge both the cost of the missing fuel plus a refueling service fee of €30.00. In your case, instead of applying this legitimate charge, our staff acted with flexibility and professionalism by allowing you to refuel the small amount yourself, thereby avoiding an additional cost that would otherwise have been applied in full compliance with the contract.
We regret that your overall impression of the rental was not positive; however, we are confident that our staff operated with full transparency and in strict adherence to the rental agreement that was acknowledged and signed by you.
