We decided to purchase a new television but wanted to know more about the choice of sets and their various features. After looking on line and not finding out much of what we wanted to know, we realized that the only way was the ‘old fashioned” method of going to see one and ask for demonstrations and try-outs of actual tv sets – not possible on line. Going to big popular high street stores is useless as most of the staff in them can hardly tell the difference between a tv and a washing machine! They only ever read the shop labels.
We needed to find better than that so we tried (for the first time) Richer Sounds. We were amazed at the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff. They actually knew what they were talking about. We spent the best part of an hour looking at and trying out different sets with the staff’s help. They could even answer many of my technical questions. (I’m a life long electronic design and development engineer.)
Satisfied with a final choice, we purchased a high spec. tv there and then on our first visit to the shop, which we normally never do. Now we have installed it and used it at home and the whole family are very pleased with the choice that we could not have made without the very helpful staff at Richer Sounds. We were really impressed with the shop which is extremely unusual for us. Well done Guildford Richer Sounds and thank you.

Bought a cassette recorder/player to listen to and possibly digitise some very old (50+ years) tapes. Received one that had a slight fault. Spoke to Telesales who suggested I take it to a local store. Took it in to Richers Sounds in Guildford. They couldn't have been more helpful, even though I forgot to bring along cassette tapes for them to try and see the fault. Received a brand new functioning version the next day (they had none in stock in Guildford). Friendly, helpful, good knowledge of equipment, I would always choose Richer Sounds for audio and a/v equipment. Brilliant organisation.

I arrived 10 mins before the shop opened but the staff let me in anyway,gave me sound advice and sold ne the tv i was after

Roland made sure he understood exactly what we were after and drew ups plan. He explained why he had made his selections, what our options were and then let us hear the result. He was great throughout.

My original review (below) was intended as constructive criticism rather than a complaint. The response from customer services has been fantastic and it seems they have taken my comments on board and will be offering other video sources for demonstrating TVs. I should add that the Samsung TV we bought is excellent!

We came to buy a new TV.
Unfortunately, all your TVs were only displaying cartoons in garish colours, totally unsuitable for comparing image quality. Can you not have a selection of perhaps nature scenes, studio scenes, modern films and (important to us) old B&W films?
However, your 30-day return policy gave us the confidence to take away the Samsung set that we had already pretty much decided on. Having got it home and set up to our liking, we have been very impressed with it.

Ordered online, collected from store. Seamless service.

Helpful staff, great to be able to buy from a real shop and prices beat a lot of internet retailers.

Great advice from the Guildford branch as usual, purchased a Wiim Ultra which sounds fantastic plugged in to my older separates.

Great products and great advice

Excellent advice and demonstration from Daniel, DM019 in Guildford which was followed up by an email. I planned to purchase direct from the Guildford store but was not able to return due to work committments so purchased on line. However the advice in store was essential.

Went in with a clear vision of getting a record player, but with no specific model in mind. The guys were really informative and patient. When I phoned up later that day to purchase what I wanted (needed 😉) they made sure I got exactly what I came in for.
Also my stuff got delivered a day earlier than expected so that's always a win.

Anyway the record player and speakers are mint and I'm really grateful to everyone on the shop x
