After a fair degree of research on Streaming devices I decided on upgrading my current streamer.
Richer sounds offered me a home trial on my chosen equipment, and with the VIP discount added this was just too good to pass on.
As always - staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Suffice to say I made the right choices all round and with the help of Richer Sounds this was a pleasantly easy experience.

I ordered a SHARP 40HE3245K TV from Richer Sounds online with collection from the Nottingham store. I could see it was delivered by DPD to the store and arranged to collect it same day. on getting it home I unpacked and connected it only to see the screen had a crazed pattern across it. I called the store who agreed immediately to replace the broken screen . So a replacement arrived at my house the next week, the driver collected the damaged one, and I noticed some damage to the front of the new box, I pointed this out and he said he wouldnt recomment getting a TV delivered by DPD. I unpacked it and set it up, starting to get proficient at this. Turned it on and saw that one side was damaged so badly the screen was detached from the surround and again it was crazed all over. Another call to the store, I made my views about DPD very clear. The store ordered a third TV as part of their normal consignment and agreed to test it before delivering it in person. They were as good as their word, it arrived the following week, was delivered in person and works fine, so I'm satisfied with that. It seems there have been problems with the DPD delivery systems and I understand from Richer Sounds that these have been raised with the distributor. I have been favorably impressed by the motivation from staff at Richer Sounds to resolve the issues, and I'm happy to continue buying from them in the future.

We bought our previous Sony tv from Nottingham shop. What we like about Richer Sounds is you call them and a person from that shop answers the phone it was Dave this time and nothing was too much trouble.My wife and I went to the shop to view the tv ordered it delivered job done.No call centres just real professional people.

Following the review and the Richer Sounds reply I was contacted within hours (the same afternoon) by David from the customer services team.
The situation was discussed in more detail and it seems there may have been some wires crossed (pun intended).
The call was highly productive and David ensured I was set up moving forward with everything I needed to get the project moving again with a very kind gesture.
The rating has been amended from 3 to 5 on the following basis.
1. The resolution was incredibly fair and solved my issue.
2. The effort and efficiency of the resolution was incredibly swift as well as the honesty and knowledge of the agent (David).
There may be some skepticism among readers on the response being driven by a TrustPilot review but on reflection I don’t believe that the store had an opportunity to be aware of my dissatisfaction. Also would attest that this mishap is not representative of my overall experience of Richer Sounds however this was the first review Iv written which is a reflection point for me on the impact of reviews and a balanced picture.
In conclusion more communication from both of us may have prevented the lapse as such my advice and title stays the same. Talk to the sales team about your needs in detail and that includes your process of set up and use case. That includes wires.

Staff were generally helpful and created a bundle for what I needed including cabling.
However after receiving my order I noticed the provided 20 meters of cabling wasn’t long enough (which for a 5.1 system was likely to be a stretch generally).
I also raised a question of the cable quality (24 gauge AWG) which my research yielded was likely a bad option for that length due to audio degradation.
When contacting them for what the extra cable would be they wanted another 30 odd quid.. for another 11 meters… Quick looks online and audio cabling is easily a third of that at much better quality than the 24 gauge AWG they provided.
Also, the yes electrical cabling they bundled was about the same price they quoted me for 100m. (They did mention it was different from the bundled wire)
I raised a question about the cable quality for rhe length I need and they assured me they had “done their research” which I don’t doubt but just do a quick google search and you’ll see most reputable audiophile websites don’t agree. (I’m certainly no expert so I’ll let you arrive at your own conclusion…)
My advice before purchasing.
1. Ask about the length and specific cabling they are bundling
2. Perhaps front load what your setup is and how it will be wired.
I haven’t managed to set it up yet so it remains to be seen if there are any issues following this and now I’ll need to make another purchase for wire but not sure if I’ll be making it from them.
2 stars removed for the inconvenience.
It’s worth noting my previous experiences with them have been better so this is a shame.

Exceptional customer service. I ordered a CD player and wasn't happy with it. They arranged collection, advised on alternatives and shipped the replacement a week earlier than expected. Tony kept me in the loop throughout the process with email and phone calls. Bear in mind this was all my fault! Add in great prices, the best warranties in the business, and an ethical business model and it's hard to see why you'd shop anywhere else

I have to say that great retail customer service is rare these days and in a ever increasing online only presence it is great to see real stores where you can see, hear and compare products. My experience both on the phone to the Customer Service team and in store at Nottingham was excellent, the whole team were friendly, knowledgeable and focused on helping me resolve my problem. To the team I say thank you for resolving my problem quickly and professionaly and to Julian Richer, the founder, I say "you have created a team of people and a customer experience to be truly proud of"!

Called into the Nottingham shop for advise on a soundbar. Advised by Ben as to the correct one and given clear recommendation. Agreed to buy and item delivered three days later. Installed easily and dramatic benefit of hearing muffled voices on TV without increasing the volume thus enhancing the experience.

In December 2025 ,Rob the senior sales advisor demonstrated a Taga Harmony HTR 1000 hi fi system which I was so impressed with that I bought one. By the time March 2026 arrived it had developed three different faults. I contacted the shop on Sunday 29 March and spoke to Ian who talked me through how to complete a repair form. I received an automated thank you reply and on Monday 30 March I received another email from Gary in the service department acknowledging the fault. On the same day I received a call from Rob apologising for the issues and advised that rather than a repair, the unit would be replaced. On Tuesday 31 the unit failed completely which just added insult to injury, however during this time I had constant updates from DPD advising of a day/date for a delivery of the replacement unit. On Wednesday 1 April the new unit arrived well within the allocated time frame. How can you fault a service such as this - absolutely first class :)

Very happy with my purchase. The Denon amp and wharfedale speakers complement each other, and sound great. The price was extremely competitive, and delivery time was less than estimated. Overall cannot fault Richer sounds. Best service bar none.
