AVOID! See Google review, replied and lied

AVOID!
Noticed a chip in the window screen on day of collection, which took them over a week to arrange a repair. The repair man they use (Glazetech), was sent to my home address, which was the only positive feedback I can give to them. No less than a week later I had gone over a pothole and this "repaired chip" had cracked (I had this car no more than 2 weeks)
Upon calling them to arrange a replacement, they would not take any responsibility and blamed me for going over a pothole and said I would be liable for the damage. I admitted that had the crack appeared in different location on the window screen I would have taken responsibility and replaced it myself.
I also explained that this damage had been caused because of a minor fault (chip) to begin with and the repair provided was defective and had clearly not been done correctly. I also asked if the repair man provided (Glazetech), garunteed his work like autoglass, they completely ignored this question and Continued to blame me for the damage.
After numerous phone calls chasing them for a replacement they continuously gave me excuses and eventually blocked my number refusing to deal with the matter.
This is the most shocking customer service I have ever received and do not advise buying from them as if you do have a fault with your vehicle, I assure you they will give you the same runaround.
AVOID!
After reading other reviews, it's also this kirsty that I delt with over the phone, and I'm sure the last call before I got my number blocked I was told there is no Kirsty that worked there 🤣 joke of a dealership.
Also i was polite and patient on the phone, no abuse, no raising my voice, I see this in replies to thier negative feedback as to why they acted the way they did. I see every positive review they have is from people that have had no issues with cars, (assume Riverview had bought/PX them with 0 faults). I cannot see 1 positive review where someone has had an issue that has been resolved without major negligence.
Also over a month since I purchased and picked up the car and still have not received a V5C and the window screen is still cracked making the car undriveable, I picked the vehicle up on the 10/6/22 and has been undriveable since 21/6/22.

Lack of care in customer service and advert accuracy

I found a van on Autotrader being sold by this company. The description stated the details of the van including that it had cruise control. After travelling 370 miles (over 12 hours on a coach) from the south of England to go and get the van, I discovered it did not have cruise control as clearly stated on the advert. There was no understanding or hint of an apology for my wasted journey. When I noticed that the van didn't have cruise control they weren't concerned about the mistake and didn't seem to see it as a problem. Upon telling Riverview Cars that I no longer wanted the van as it had been incorrectly advertised, there was no offer of compensation for their fault or even a lift back to the guest house which would have taken 5 minutes. The customer service was poor and I left feeling incredibly disappointed. I didn't think I would need to double check that the features listed were correct as it is the up to the dealer to check! If you're interested in buying from this company I would recommend checking all of the features listed before making the effort to visit.

Do not buy from this company!!

Do not buy from this company!!! Had to get a refund on a car after owning it for 5 weeks. In the 5 weeks we had the car it broke down three times. The attitude of the owner was disgusting advising he’d just left a few wires loose after the third time they had it back for repair what’s the big deal. The big deal is you returned a car from its third repair unroad worthy. To add insult to injury we had filled the tank with £50 worth of diesel just before the third breakdown and paid £150 on parts out of our own pocket and we’re told we wouldn’t get any of this back. The lady was lovely who sold us the car but as soon as there was problems we were promised call backs which never happened, texts were ignored and we had to keep chasing. Please everyone avoid this garage if you want to save yourself money and hassle!! Had to give one star to leave a review but if I could give zero I would. AVOID AVOID AVOID THESE CROOKS!!

Car (2012(61) Peugeot 3008 automatic)

Car (2011 Peugeot 3008 automatic), bought 8 months ago. I should have realised things weren’t right when it broke down within 1st month (Gearbox error – Needs repair). Broke down further 5 times in 8 months with same error. Each time I was assured the fault was fully understood and fixed, I was also assured it couldn’t happen when the car was in motion, but guess what, it did whilst turning right at a busy junction??!! This was only 1 hour after it had been returned to me for the 4th time. Still scares me to think what could have happened to my partner(driving) and other road users. After this I refused to drive the car despite depending on it for work (I’m a frontline worker), and vowed never to put my 1-year-old son’s life at risk of that car.

According to Citizens advice the car failed the Consumer rights act 2015 criteria on 3 counts 1. Not of satisfactory quality, 2. Nor free from faults and 3. Did not last a reasonable time. I’m angry at myself for not having the energy to peruse this but my life means I’m busy at home with a 1-year-old, and at work coping with events I could never have imagined I would experience. I just couldn’t face another stress point in my life right now.

In the end I need a car that I can trust from a garage that I can trust to look after me. Despite all the reassurances on repairs and words on the importance of customer satisfaction my perception is that the personality of this business is defined by the “Main Man”, who’s measure of success seems to me to be very simple, ££££’s!!!. Sad when you consider what has been happening in the world over the last 12 months.

I’ve been left with no option (realistically) other than to accept the trade-in value for the car. Attempts to exchange the car at a reasonable cost to me for one of similar or lesser value failed and I’ve lost over 40% of what I paid only 8 months ago not to mention costs of taxis to/from work. I’m now massively out of pocket and without a car but at least no one got hurt. My old car is back on the forecourt (with the 40% added to the price I sold it back for), and interestingly states 1 previous owner. I think I was the 3rd when I owned it, and the photos don’t show the actual cars interior as at 16/02/2021 !?? I've no measure of how well it has been fixed but good luck to anyone who buys it.

It’s not my place to advise others on whether or not to deal with this business, though as you can imagine I never will again. My key message is to know your legal rights as per Consumer rights act 2015 and not just rely on the warranty. The car could and should have been returned on the 1st failure (within 30 days) with a full refund, or at worst after the 2nd failure within 6 months again with a refund. I failed to do either, instead trusting the warranty and assurances from the garage that the fault was understood and fixed. I’ve learnt a lot from this experience though shame on those who’ve taken advantage of me.

Major Faults with Vehicle - unuseable

Purchased a vehicle that has had ongoing faults since point of purchase. During first 3months the dealer had the car back for more than half of the time. Still having more issues and dealer has got a solicitor to contact me after I asked for a refund. Car is unusable and is now off the road.
