I’m off sick and wanted to join RMT to get help with returning to work but they refuse to help. Small wonder less and less young people join these money grabbing unions.

Striking for a few extra pounds on their already high wages compared to someone at the lower end of the spectrum it’s US the CUSTOMERS that are paying YOUR STAFFS WAGES should us customers STRIKE TOO?!! grow a pair bunch of wet wipes 65k to sit on you rears and drive a train if i had my way you wouldn’t exist nor would you get paid 65k a year time for us customers to strike and bring you money grabbing clowns down
No need to add to comments below. Pathetic, selfish and economically ignorant national socialist (NAZI) union and the so called workers. I'm looking forward to walking right through the UCU lecturers pointless picket line in the future
The misery the strikes will cause to people going about their lives is shocking...you should be ashamed!!!! Morons
Initially tried to get in touch with Mrs Jenny Adams The St Albans Branch Secretary but without any success(both phone call ,emails sent)
Just got a phone call - she did her best to get to the point to hang up on me.
She had rudely cut in every time I started to talk when I pointed this out to her she did hang up on me...when I had referred to her as "Ms" she corrected me to say " It's Mrs " so sensitive- what for?...the nature of her phone call was not to help but make me quit RMT as I am a bus driver,so I have...as there is no help for members unless you're in Railway sector.
No RMT Support working for the Railway. Reps always say that they do this voluntarily during their own time and can’t have the audacity to help. When there’s other issues to voice at RMT meetings, the reps just sit next to you and don’t defend your corner like they are meant to do. The worst of all is the majority of Reps who attend are railway clerks and train managers doing a voluntary good will scheme (in the click with management)! If they don’t like you then they will try and sack you! This has no bearing on the individual because the can’t and don make suggestions, they are not independent and work with the same managers and colleagues. All of a sudden P & O staff loose their jobs and they want to help! That’s the job of a solicitor anyway not dealing with real work related issues as per the reviews below. A clear example is if you work for GWR and need RMT representation. The reps are not interested and take the managers side. It’s not Gods wonderful Railway!
The recent strikes called by this union pre christmas during a dangerous surge in Omicron has resulted in overcrowded trains . I have witnessed staff not wearing masks . The subsequent actions of this union has directly put the lives of its customers at risk and badly affected small business in London relying on people being able to travel properly to their destination.
I was a member of the RMT for 28 years when I joined they were called the NUR I PAID MY UNION DUES ON TIME ALWAYS I HAD TO RETIRE AT 48 YEARS OLD IN 2015 I WAS OVER EXPOSED TO ILLEGAL POWER TOOLS WORKING FOR BRITISH RAIL FIRST ENGINEERING AND THEN NETWORK RAIL I AM NOW LEFT CRIPPLED FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE AND HAVE BEEN CHEATED OUT OF ANY COMPENSATION WITH THE COLLUSION OF THE ANTI IRISH CATHOLIC BIGOTRY INFESTED RMT UNION AND THOMPSON SOLICITORS GLASGOW
Useless Union to distrust everyone’s lives
I am former member of the rmt and had been for a number of years ' but when I was faced with difficulty they were the first people I contacted with poor outcome from the representation to the advise. Hugely dissapointed ' when I did eventually got some help they refused to help and caused my appeal to run its expiry time ' very sad indeed ' look else were if you want to throw your money chuck it in river.
The RMT needlessly and single-handedly have cause untold pain and damage to business. They hold society to ransom. They have pushed up the wages of uneducated staff far beyond they deserve and resist reform. As a result, we have overpriced train travel, too many useless staff. A menace to society who should be ashamed of their actions.
