First and Final

I had never heard of this site before, but I ordered a backpack $50 cheaper than I could find anywhere else. The order went through and my account was charged. The next day I receive an email informing me that I have cancelled the order, which I did not, and my money has been refunded. No questions for me, no chance to fix any possible incorrect information, just a cancelled order that I purportedly cancelled myself. Long story short, their antifraud company cancelled my order, and they want me to go through PayPal instead, but the backpack is no longer in stock. This was my first and final experience with rockymountaintrails.com. Now I will be paying the extra 50 for the bag anyway, but I have wasted alot of time as well, and feel inclined to leave this negative review.

Great service and price, no issues

I was hesitant to order from rockymountaintrail because of bad reviews, but their price was the best. I placed an order on May 31 for a North Face travel backpack through Paypal, just in case of any problems. The backpack shipped the next day and arrived today, June 6--less than a week to arrive with free shipping. It was a gift and my stepson is really happy with it. I had a perfect transaction and would order from them again.

Ridiculous!!!

I ordered a bookbag and it was supposed to come 4-10 days. 4-10 business days would be OK but its been 3 1\2 weeks past the the days it was supposed to come and still hasn't came!! That's ridiculous! Definetly NOT ordering again!!!

Horrible Service

Atrocious service. I ordered a jacket from this company back in December (about a month ago now), and it was lost in the mail. Fine. Not the company's fault. While the jacket was in USPS purgatory, the price actually went down, so I not only didn't have the jacket, this company had more of my money than what it was worth. I sent a few emails and left about 3 messages, and finally spoke with a customer service representative (Jayne) about resolving the issue. She was very condescending towards me. She was trying to spin some yarn about how with the shipping option I chose, the coat would've taken weeks to arrive anyway. She finally offered to refund me the price difference plus $10. Um, OK. I still don't have a jacket, so what good is that going to do me? I said I would wait and see if I got the jacket and let her know, and then we could decide if I got a partial refund or a full refund. I finally got it, so now I've been emailing back-and-forth with Customer Service reps, including Jayne directly, who normally don't respond. At some point last week I was told I would have my refund by the end of the week. I did not. I told the last rep (Crystal) that I was going to have to file a dispute with PayPal if they didn't take care of it. She finally emailed me back and said "OK. I talked to my manager. File a dispute with PayPal." What? So apparently, if they decide to respond at all, they don't want to take care of any of their customers problems. I have literally spent hours going back-and-forth with this company to no avail. I would never buy from this company again. Atrocious service.

Helped me a lot

RMT helped when I made a mistake in ordering some jackets for my groomsmen. They cancelled everything I asked them to and made sure that what I actually needed was sent. Extremely hassle free. Will shop with them again

Great experience; no problems

Like others, I was skeptical of this site since I'd never heard of it and it had some bad reviews from others. (The site itself also looks a little simplistic and sketchy.) BUT I had a had a great experience. Got the color, size and style of Marmot jacket I'd been shopping for at $40 less than the store price, and it arrived in just three business days.

Great Service

I was shopping for a North Face jacket on sale post-winter season. I found one on this website, but since I had never heard of it before, I decided to Google reviews for it. I saw this site with multiple bad reviews. I also saw a few good reviews. I'm one of those online shoppers who never shops at a place with bad reviews and believes that reviews online are a fixed thing - that the store actually has employees write fake reviews or like Amazon, just hires reviewers, if they have bad reviews. I took a leap anyway and bought the jacket I wanted on the website. I immediately received an email from a person after my order with some misinformation I had given them for my credit card. They emailed me back so kindly. I did receive shipping confirmation and tracking information (I checked my Spam folder). The shipping by the way was FREE. The jacket arrived promply, brand new and in perfect condition.

All this to say, that some customers go out of their way to write a bad review. But seriously, give these guys a chance. Would recommend this online store to anyone.

Fast delivery, great service

I ordered a northface bootie in the website of rocky mountain trail. The regular market price of the bootie was $95 but rockymountaintrail offered a discounted $67 price. The delivery was fast, service was great. I am satisfied.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I ordered an item and bought it at full price. 3 days after receiving the item, it goes on sale online. The customer service representative, Kelsey, would not adjust the price. She said that I could return the item and reorder it. WTF IS WRONG WITH THEM!!!! I will never order from here again or rec to anyone.

arrived right on time! no problems :)

I ordered a marmot backpack and at first, after reading all the reviews, I was very sceptical but the price was perfect! So I went ahead and took a chance and I'm so glad I did. The package arrived when the tracking date said it would and I had no problems whatsoever! Definitely would order from them again!!

Fast service, no problems!

I too read all of the bad reviews from this company, and was very leary about ordering from them, but when I saw that they had the Patagonia Nano Puff jacket on sale, I decided to take a chance. I've been wanting this jacket for awhile now, but I just didn't want to pay full retail. Rockymountaintrail.com had the jacket on sale at a whopping 30% off! I couldn't pass it up. Because of some of the customer complaints, I decided to go ahead and pay the extra $6 for expedited shipping. Well, I received it on the day it was promised (just 3 days after order), and the jacket is in perfect condition, exactly what I ordered. Absolutely no problems here! They even included a complimentary sample of 5 hour energy (which I probably won't use, anyway, but hey, that's just me), and also $10 gift card to use on future orders from the site. I'll definitely shop with them again. Thanks!

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!

I have been in contact with customer service to be told that "they are having technical difficulties" multiple times.This store had no problem charging my credit card but as of 11 days later my jacket was still not shipped!!!! I was called numerous times to verify my information when I paid through paypal (which my account states..verified customer). I will NEVER purchase anything from them and I will highly discourage anyone who thinks about purchasing anything from this company!!!!! Save yourself the trouble and buy somewhere else!!!!!

had a problem but customer service did its job

I received my item pretty fast and didn't pay shipping so I was happy about that, however the item I received was the wrong color. I went on their website and found that they no longer had the correct color so I decided to return it. I didn't feel like I should have to pay for return shipping since it wasn't my error so I called and talked to someone in customer service. I explained the issue and asked if they could email a return shipping label. I was very happy to hear no excuses and that she would gladly email a return shipping label since it was their mistake. The call took literally only a couple mins. Because of their free shipping and great customer service I would definitely buy through them again.

"Customer Service" Unacceptable - [name removed] is in wrong job.

Blue enamel cookware available in several places, but the quality in the description seemed to be better here, even with a higher price than two other online sources. Description read "4 Bowls, 4 plates, 4 cups, 4 spoons." The differentiator for me was the spoons, in that they are harder to find, so I didn't mind the higher price (they also offered free shipping). Received on schedule. Opened and...no spoons. Called, [name removed] answered. We determined that there indeed were spoons in the description, but her research and response indicated that the description should have been updated over a year ago (it's now October 2011). Liked the cookware, a lot. But I wanted the spoons and that was why I bought from them. She said she'd find out what they could do. Short version of story: [name removed], the supervisor, of all things Customer Service (what a joke that is - she has no regard for customers at all and has been negatively referenced repeatedly in this feedback, I see) said they'd give 15% off MY NEXT PURCHASE. My next purchase!? I won't be buying from RMT again based on this experience and the principle.
So they falsely advertise (here I come BBB), [name removed] hides behind the nice person on the phone ([name removed]), and [name removed] screws the customer over.
Rocky Mountain Trail: [name removed] is costing you my business (I'm returning the item) now and in the future. [name removed] is also going to cost you any potential business of my family/friends and I will do my best to spread word of my experience anywhere possible. Good customer reviews MAY get you additional business. Bad customer reviews DEFINITELY impact your business. Someone needs to pay attention at RMT!
I'm doubly bummed now that I've seen [name removed] name already referenced here for a negative experience. Wish I'd checked before I tried to become a satisfied customer of RMT.

I have left a voice message as well as sent an urgent email to Matt. There was a miscommunication between me and Elaine this morning. I am still offering the 15% off Matt's next order. I also submitted an urgent request to our Accounting Department to issue a refund of half the purchase price due to the image being incorrect on our site to be completed today. The refund has already been processed and I would be more than happy to speak to Matt if he would please call and ask to speak to me directly.

Fast, affordable, and totally worth it

After reading other reviews, I had an awful feeling in my stomach about ordering from Rocky Mountain.. However, I took a leap of faith, and put in my order - an anniversary gift for my hubby, I got him a black denali north face - I was so excited considering the price I got it for, but extremely skeptical considering the reviews.
I waited 5 business days, and my sweet anniversary gift arrived in the mail, perfect condition, tags & all, exactly what i ordered - for a whopping $103. such a steal, and awesome experience.
Will def be ordering from them again!! :)

Super Fast Shipping and Great Prices

I was rather concerned about ordering from Rockymountaintrail.com after reading some of the reviews. I ended up ordering a North Face jacket from them because their price was far lower than the other stores online and they offered free shipping. Company needs new Customer Service Manager Replace [name removed]

On 12 Jan 2011 I ordered a jacket from this website. It shipped the next day. I'm an active duty military member that is stationed over seas. The package was sent via USPS and was not tracked by this company. They said they do not track packages to FPO/APO addresses, which is where it was sent. They collected my $189, sent the package and I never received it. I've called them repeatedly and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which went nowhere. I was told that they won't refund my money until I send them back the jacket. I've never received it, and its been over a month since it shipped. I've looked online at multiple websites and have seen dozens of similar stories from other consumers about the same company. They all state the customer service departments refused to help them, and mentioned the same name multiple times. The Customer Service manager, which is who I dealt with and basically stated she can't and won't do anything. So, here I sit with no jacket and they have my money. I'm still trying to figure out how the BBB just closed the case. I was able to find the Vice presidents name and will attempt to contact him. Not really sure what else to do since I'm overseas which compounds the problem.

Horrible Service, They need to close down!

I ordered a jacket on Dec. 3rd, received an e-mail saying it had shipped, only to receive an e-mail on Dec. 20th saying they were cancelling the order. For ruining my christmas gift to my wife, they sent me a 20% off coupon. When I attempted to use the coupon on Feb. 5th (A little more than a month later), I was informed that it had expired, even though the e-mail stated no such stipulation. I spoke with [name removed] a manager at Rocky Mountain Trail and I was informed that there was nothing she could do to help me, that it was "tough luck". When I asked if she wanted my business, I was told no, they have plenty of customers. PLEASE, Do not use this website, there are plenty of other businesses who want you as a customer and will work to do so, RMT will not!

Absolutely Piss Poor Service & Communication

This has been the absolute worst experience of online ordering since I have been purchasing merchandise from the web. Here is my experience.

I ordered a winter coat for my girlfriend on December 16th of 2010. When placing my order, the website will ensure you that your order will ship within 3 days of placing an order and deliver with a 3-5 day window. After recieving no shipping confirmation or communication from Rocky Mountain Trail, I decied the contact customer service to get an explanation. It took me 3 days of consistant calling (at lest 20 calls a day) and leaving multiple messages per day to actually get someone on the phone. Please note, Rocky Mountain Trail never returned one of my ten messages that I left, it took a random act of god for someone to answer the phone. The representative told me that my item was a special order item and assured me it would arrive before Christmas. Christmas came, no coat and and no communcation. After the Holiday, I contacted Rocky Mountain Trail again - No answer for several days and no returned phone call. After several days of trying to contact thier Customer Service department, I finally got someone on the phone and they assured me my item would ship on January 4th. Coat never shipped. To make a long story short, after a week of patience, the coat finally arrived on January 14th. It took 1 month to get something that I ordered from this website. Absolutely terrible.

In Summary, if you like terrible customer service and enjoy waiting long periods of time to get an item, don't order from Rocky Mountain Trail. Simply read other websites about this Company, you will read similar situations of other consumers.

- Rocky Mountain trail has no follow-up skills
- Customer Service is a complete Joke
- If you happen to get a hold of Customer Service, they will lie to you and tell you things you want to hear so you won't cancel your order.

If this review makes it you the people who run this company, word of advice: Bring in a consultant who knows something about customer service and basic follow-up skills.
