This company is a con
This company is a con. After many phone calls to get my EV charger started, I'm basically being told that I need to fork out £400 for a unit that has never been used and was installed for a new flat development. This should be a plug in an go unit where I just plug the car in and charge. Unit has never been used since we bought the flat, and having been told to join the app and charge which didn't work, I am now stuck. I was advised by Shawn that an engineer needs to come out. No call out reference, no mention of charges, and no mention of warranty for this unit. After many calls and being on hold for hours trying to get through, an engineer came out. I asked about costs and in total this could cost me £400 with call out fees and a new communication board. What a con!! Just rang again to clarify and I've been told that this was discussed on the phone previously (which is not true) and if I don't do this work the unit will be redundant, which sounds like a threat. This company is disgusting and should be reported. Communication is dreadful. I can complain to the complaints department but I've been advised by Rolec that I probably won't get anywhere. It's just not fair a company can treat you like this.

Rolec Evo - Flashing Blue Light!
It would appear like many others I took an instant dislike to my recently installed Rolec Evo when as soon as it was powered up I realised I was going to have to live with a constantly flashing bright blue light when it was in standby mode.
I just couldn't understand logic, it seemed unnecessarily bright and I couldn't think of another electrical appliance were the standby light flashed, surely a flashing light indicates a fault!
Now in fairness I contacted Rolec technical support and they were excellent. They came back to me straight away and were very understanding with the complaint, it would appear they've had countless other calls reporting the same issue.
They were able to dim the brightness of the light which has definitely helped and I am told are actively working on a future update of the user app to allow customers more control over the indicator display.
In all other respects the charger is excellent, it looks good, the installation was straight forward and the functionality offers all the facilities of the competition.
Hopefully Rolec will address the flashing blue light issue soon and they will then have a lot of happy customers.

Following my request for assistance on how to operate a particular type of Rolec EV charger I was contacted by telephone very quickly after my initial on line submission. By contacting me this way I was able to ask additional questions as the conversation progressed which was an added bonus.
The support agent was very polite, knowledgeable and explained the operation of the charger in question very clearly giving me the confidence to go ahead and use it.
From enquiry to solution in under 1 hour!
I made the enquiry online and a support agent called me within 30 minutes, very pleasant chap called Adrian, knew exactly what was wrong, talked me through resetting the charger and setup the app and working out how to configure with Solar panel and use the correct cable. very patient with me and very knowledgable. Very pleasant experience, thank you .

Poor communication and service
I had to chase for an update on this repair on numerous occasions. The communication has been nearly non-existent. It took 4 months for someone to attend to the repair

BUT fundamental issue remains - Design of Kit is unsuitable for residential use.
I had a rapid response from customer support to my initial Trustpilot review, (And to another telephone call on another set up issue). [This is unlike 50five below]They can and had reduced the light power - claim is "to 10%" (still appears very bright to me).
Resulting position. You have to have lights. Solid If charger connected to car you can have a circle of blue light. Disconnect from car and have most of circle flashing, Continuous light is less obnoxious but requires - plug in car whenever the car is left in the garage - but not charging (to avoid daily unwanted charge car sessions set to a I minute charge once in 24 hours) So flashing blue light it is NOT a sensible design feature
It still looks ridiculous inside my garage. Christmas will soon be over BUT for 24 hours a day 365 days a year it will continue to light up the room. Like others on line I don't need or want this. One small led light and an app would suffice, (it has previously). Never seen anything as gaudy. Technical function ie charging fine but flashing LEDs around the plug insertion point, YUK. it is an unadjustable design feature to warn of any and all "issues"
I am a low mileage user, (under 4000m p.a.). I run the 68 Kwh EV battery low then charge it high, always overnight, for one or two days a month. So for 24 hours almost every day and daytime every day it flashes blue, flashes blue again and again tirelessly.
The online suggested solution by users is cover the circular light zone in tape or the whole front with a cardboard box!
ROLEC a suggestion sell a designer card board box accessory for us to use or MORE HELPFULLY CHANGE THE SOFTWARE SETTINGS or have some customer returns!
