They sell and don't care after

I got a Rolex Masterclass 2 from Goldsmith counter, Cribbs Causeway, Bristol. They sold this and advertise this as a dual time clock, which is not true and incorrect information was given. When I raised with the showroom they did not have clue and they passed the complaint to Rolex, this was in January 2025 and after multiple emails and reminders the Goldsmith nor Rolex have come back to me with an answer.

What a shame for such a company to have such a poor customer response. I saw reviews on Trustpiolt which I wish had seen before as very low rating.

I have other high end watches and the service from them is amazing.

AVOID CHATAM LUXURY WATCHES IN COLOMBO …

AVOID CHATAM LUXURY WATCHES IN COLOMBO AT ALL COSTS

ADRAIN IS NOTHING BUT A CON MAN AND A THIEF

He does not adhere to Rolex pricing policies and overcharged me 20% above MRP specified by Rolex, for a brand new unworn Rolex piece. I could have brought the piece from a Grey market in the UK for the same price, so in essence the AD was charging me the grey market price, which is strictly against Rolex pricing policies.

I have been dealing with Rolex ADs in the UK for many years now, and this price irregularity was brought to my attention by an AD in the UK when I mentioned it to them subsequently, while purchasing a piece.

I am yet to hear a plausible explanation from this AD in Colombo about this irregularity despite contacting and emailing him.

I have subsequently raised this with Rolex client services in Mumbai, who oversee colombo and Rolex Headquarters SA in Genera Switzerland.

If you are an overseas customer and have options elsewhere I would highly recommend avoiding this dealer. My Experience is Ads in UK are much more honest and straightforward and adhere to Rolex pricing polies and MRP. They would not charge you a grey market price for a brand-new watch as is the case with this dealer.

I will keep this thread posted on the outcome.

12.3.25-
AD has not respoded to my querries regarding overcharging me againtst Rolex pricing policies. He is a fraudster - I should have known better

I have escalated to the Rolex Headquarters SA Geneva and they have advised to escalatre to the regional office in Mumbai, which I have done- No repsonse yet.

I cannot stress on this enough - AVOID THIS AD Specially if you are overseas customer. It is probabaly better to be on the waiting list for a honest AD in the in the West adhering to Rolex pricing policies, rather than fall prey to a Fraudster, like Adrian and Chatham Luxury watches who take advantage of the trust placed on ADs

An Update

This retailer is not under the Rolex Geneva SA - Rolex has delegated operations to a subsidiary in Mumbai
As with many other things in South asia , the Mumbai subsidiary of typical - No reply to calls or emails, people who cant comprehend or communicate in English seem to be the norm - Not sure wether Adrian- the conman who runs this business [ Chatam Luxary watches] is accountable to these jokers -

Rolex Geneva SA has apologised to me about this - Atleast they are swiss - well mannerred and can communicate in English.I will take their advce and will confine myself to Law abiding ADS in the West

For a Rolex Explorer 2 I was charged 20% more - exactly black markt proce from by the Con man Adrian and his suposed "AD" Chatam Luxary watches

I CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH - STAY AWAY FRO THESE THIEVES - ADRIAN AND CHATAM LUXARY WATCHES

IF YOU STILL NEED ANY PROOF CONTACT ME BY COMMENTING BELOW - I WILL FORWRD ALL THE EMAILS AND RECIPTS WITH PRICING GUIDES FROM ROLEX SO YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELF

Honestly few thousand pounds is not a big deal for me - neverthless there are principles - I am doing this as a public service to prevent individuals who are from overseas falling prey to thieves like Adrian - stick to your AD in your country in the west where there is pricing policeis and law and order

Rolex Has Dropped Off

Rolex has dropped off, terrible service and watches are imperfect now. Can’t even get a screw replacement to be flush after screw came out and it flew off my hand (multiple times, almost lost it) and after four different visits to an AD. Audemars Piguet is my new go to. Selling my Submariner as we speak.

A Shocking Contradiction to Rolex’s Prestige – Poor Service & Disrespect

I recently visited Rolex boutique in Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong to explore their watches, and unfortunately, the experience was far from the luxury and prestige the brand promises. From the moment we entered, the salesperson’s attitude was condescending, dismissive, and outright rude. They spoke down to us, implying—whether intentionally or not—that we couldn’t afford their products. Ironically, we were fully prepared to make a purchase, but their behavior made it impossible to even consider giving them our business.

What’s worse, while we were browsing, the staff **locked the door behind us**, presumably to prevent us from "stealing" something. This was not only humiliating but also a serious safety concern. A brand like Rolex, which prides itself on exclusivity and customer respect, should never make a client feel like a criminal or trap them inside the store. We had to wait for them to unlock the door just to leave—an absurd and unacceptable practice.

If Rolex truly values its customers, it needs to train its staff to treat potential buyers with basic courtesy and professionalism. A luxury brand is defined not just by its products but by the experience it offers, and this was a complete failure. Until attitudes and policies change, I cannot in good conscience recommend visiting this boutique.

**The Worst Review of Rolex Watches

**The Worst Review of Rolex Watches: Overpriced, Unverifiable, and Outdone by Counterfeits**

Let’s be real—Rolex is the most overhyped, overpriced, and underwhelming "luxury" watch brand out there. What’s the point of spending $10,000, $20,000, or even $100,000 on a watch when **you can’t even prove it’s real?** Rolex doesn’t provide certificates of authenticity with every watch, and their serial numbers can be faked so easily that even experts get fooled.

The worst part? **The counterfeit market has gotten so good that fake Rolexes often look MORE real than the ones Rolex actually sells.** I’ve seen $500 replicas with better finishing, tighter tolerances, and more accurate dials than some genuine Rolex watches. Meanwhile, Rolex keeps raising prices while delivering the same outdated designs with minimal innovation.

And good luck if you ever need service—Rolex will hold your watch hostage for months and charge you an arm and a leg just to tell you, *"Yep, it’s real (we think)."* Meanwhile, counterfeiters offer better customer service and faster turnaround times.

At this point, buying a real Rolex is just **paying for bragging rights to a lie.** Unless you enjoy burning money for a logo that half the people wearing it don’t even own legitimately, save your cash—or buy a fake that looks just as good (if not better).

I wish I could ge try refund for all my watches I bought

**Final Verdict:** Rolex is a scam wrapped in stainless steel and marketed to suckers.

If Rolex were a restaurant…

… it would move diners from a table for the type of people who consider it acceptable to walk in and demand it, judging by the way it manages its waiting list.

Since my teens, I perceived Rolex as the most prestigious watch brand, and up until yesterday, would have considered another watch in years to come, but not any more after recently learning some disturbing information:-

(1) As a customer, you have to ingratiate yourself with the manager at the Rolex dealer to supposedly prove your worth to be added to the waiting list.

(2) The waiting list operates on a far from first come, first served basis. If you count yourself lucky to make it onto the waiting list, others can and will be placed higher in the queue regardless of the length of time you have been waiting.

(3) When you are finally informed that the Rolex has arrived, you must be available immediately to pay for and collect it; if not, it will be allocated to the next customer on the waiting list. It is quite an irrelevance how long Rolex has kept you waiting; Rolex will not wait for you.

So, now I hope you will see that beneath the supposedly prestigious name and logo, is a company content to conduct itself in a far from morally acceptable manner.

Disgraceful Rolex Service

I have paid £700 to Michael Spiers in Exeter for a complete overhaul with a 2 year warranty for my Rolex Yachtmaster. The same problem has re appeared within the warranty period but was not noticed until after the 2 year warranty, and Michael Spiers have refused to put the watch right. Because I complained at their rotten service at the time of collection, Adam Spiers (MD) has also refused to even deal with me at all. The nearest Rolex dealer is 100 miles away. I have complained to the CEO Richard DeLeyser in Rolex, London who doesn't appear to care either. Now I have to contact the overall CEO Jean - Frederic Dufour in their Geneva HQ. Consequently I am suing Michael Spiers. It would seem that as Rolex have such a long waiting list they just don't care. I have bought 4 new Rolex watches in the past for my family but now I would buy anything else instead. Rolex (MS) seem to have no guilt in giving useless, rude and incompetant service.

Rolex Store on Rodeo Drive

I honestly have never received such terrible service. I had brought in my vintage 18k yellow gold Rolex to be serviced because it would no longer wind, and asked that they also inspect the bracelet. I had purchased the watch five years prior, and I have worn it around the world without issue. It's a vintage watch that has been extremely worn, it's delicate, it's had a hard life, but that was exactly what I loved about it. It's 56 years old - I was never expecting it to be in "like new" condition. Their suggestion was to replace the bracelet, and I declined the service, stating that I liked that the watch was as close to original as possible.

The watch was sent back to the Beverly Hills location after being serviced, and I was called to come and pick it up. I was also informed that the bracelet was no longer attached to the watch. At some point in the watches history, someone replaced the spring pins with a non-Rolex part, so the technician removed them, and he threw them out. He deemed it unsafe to wear, and he rendered it unwearable by throwing out my property. I spent thousands of dollars on this timepiece.

I was never consulted, I was never informed that this was the policy of Rolex, and I never consented. Needless to say, I had a very heated exchange with Vema, the customer service manager. She began by telling me that I never responded to the email, refusing service to the bracelet, which was a blatant lie. I quickly shut that down by texting her a screen shot of my email response refusing the service.

As our conversation progressed, and Vema continued to defend Rolex's position on the situation in a defensive and argumentative manner, and I grew more agitated and angry. I don't know if she just panicked as the conversation became more heated, but she lied to me once again. She had originally stated that the spring pins that were on the watch were discarded, and then moments later she said that they were actually in the service center in Dallas. When I asked her to send the watch back to Dallas to have the bracelet reattached, she said that the spring pins were gone. It was such a strange exchange, and I couldn't understand why she would flip-flop like that in a matter of seconds.

After I completely exploded on her, she said she would like to look into this further and see what she could do. Thirty minutes later she called, and said that they made an exception, and they reattached the bracelet to the watch. Why did we even have to go down this path to begin with?

When I picked up the watch from the Beverly Hills store, I met with Dustin, the store manager. He too, seemed more concerned defending Rolex's position than trying to calm the situation. The exchange was quite cold and robotic, and as I expressed my frustration with the situation, he actually stopped responding.

I have always loved Rolex, and as I was picking up this one, both my husband and I were each wearing one, (one was even purchased at Gearys'), but the exchanges with Vema and Dustin have soured me. If you are going to purchase one, support a store like the one in the Meat Packing District in Manhattan. They are all friendly and kind. I would recommend never stepping foot in the Beverly Hills location.

Love My Rolex, But the Waiting Process Feels Unfair

I absolutely love my Rolex – the craftsmanship, quality, and timeless design are everything I hoped for. It’s truly a watch that stands out and is worth the investment.

However, my experience with the waiting process left me feeling disappointed. Despite registering my interest well in advance, I noticed that people who signed up long after me were called first, simply because they seemed to know the "right" people. It’s frustrating to feel like loyalty and patience aren’t prioritised when allocating such iconic timepieces.

Rolex makes incredible watches, but I hope they revisit and improve the transparency and fairness of their waiting list process to ensure all customers feel equally valued.
