As you can see from our other reviews, it is a very rare instance where someone feels compelled to leave a 1-star review. On this occasion, you hired a ramp from us (as you had done previously just a few months before). The procedure for terminating the hire and arranging collection of the equipment is clearly outlined on the front of the hire contract (not hidden away in small print). Additionally, when you asked us how to offhire the ramp we told you clearly to email offhire@rollaramp.co.uk but regretfully, you failed to do so. Your suggestion that these instructions are “obscure” is simply untrue and we respectfully suggest that our review platform would be cluttered with far more complaints if our process was not simple and straightforward and akin to many other hire companies.

Thank you for your review and it is important that the facts surrounding your purchase of the Roll-a-Ramp from our perspective are made clear. As you will see from our many reviews, it is indeed a very rare instance (if any) where our customers are not fully satisfied.

Firstly, the customer’s (a club) suggestion that Roll-a-Ramp is a “non-customised” product is quite incorrect. Each and every ramp is individually and time-consumingly constructed tread by tread to the precise measurement ordered.

In this case, the customer is complaining that the ramp “...protrudes too far onto our dance floor”. Any ramp will always protrude on to any specific level. Ramps need to be a certain length in order to ensure that the slope is not too steep for comfortable wheelchair access. We provide plenty of information on our website to help customers select the correct length (the longer the ramp the more comfortable the gradient). In this case the customer ordered the minimum recommended ramp length for their step.

As many reviewers note, we offer friendly and helpful advice to any potential buyers by phone or email to ensure they purchase the exact product to suit their needs. All the technical specifications are also clearly listed on our website.

The beauty of Roll-a-Ramp is that it can be shortened or split up into sections and rolled up for easy storage, so the ramp does not need to be in place all the time. We did speak to the customer requesting kindly that they send us an image of the area that needed attention in order that we could advise them further but regretfully they have oddly been unwilling to do so.

Finally, we must refer to the reviewer's suggestion that we operate a non-returns policy. Thankfully and we hope expectedly, nothing is further from reality. We operate a full no-quibble returns policy for all domestic consumers. This does not apply to business or non-domestic customers, but we will always try to help the customer make the ramp work for them. Rest assured that if a mistake is demonstrably of our making we will refund regardless.

We were very sorry to hear of your issues using the ramp, however, we feel your 1-star review is somewhat unfair:

1. The dimensions and weight are clearly shown on all of our product listings.

2. The ramp you ordered requires no instructions, as they simply unfold to be used.

3. Unfortunately, you haven’t contacted us directly for us to be able to assist with any problems/concerns (before or after this issue). If you required any further help, of course, we would have been able to provide guidance on whether the product would be suitable for your needs. Finally, on the proviso that the ramp is sent back to us in the same condition as sold we will organise a refund immediately.
