Great experience

Bought a sofa from Roomes late last year for Feb delivery (thinking renovation would be finished). Builder absconded, ending delayed. Roomes hung onto the sofa for us for four months (even though they said they couldn't really when we bought it). They held onto it for as long as they could. The delivery team was great. Overall it's been a terrific customer experience.

Excellent service.

Today I bought a bed. I needed information to make my choice. Suki was excellent. She gave comprehensive information and answered all my questions. She had excellent interpersonal skills and was a pleasure to talk to. I recommend wholeheartedly shopping in this store.

Beautiful Independent Store

I have been shopping with Roomes for many years now - always a professional service with friendly staff - store is beautifully laid out with so much choice that caters to everyone - laid back and chilled atmosphere with laughter and nice music - items are always of good quality - not many stores like Roomes around anymore!

I was looking for an ottoman bed as I needed more storage. I chose a Highgrove ottoman bed extremely comfortable and w reasonably priced.
I did have an issue after few months with one of the hydraulics but on enquiry it was swiftly dealt with and replaced.
Excellent service.

Very poor service. Poor quality.

We ordered a beautiful leather electric recliner sofa before Christmas 2023.that were made in Italy and we had to wait a couple months for it.
Only to have it arrive February 2024 with a damaged wooden foot, and two out of the three recliners made an awful noice when opening and bits were falling off. After chasing up customer service team, and even having two members of the store personally visit us to confirm the poor quality, 2 new mechanisms were ordered from Italy and took over weeks to arrive. The very large boxes were damaged on arrival ( fedex) as well as poor packaging at our home adding to the stress of poor service and now an even poorer service from digio the Italian company!!.
Seeing as we could not see a positive outcome of this poorly manufactured sofa we ask for it to be removed and refunded immediately. May 2024 ,Sadly we would not use this company again.

Simply Incredible Customer Service

I went into Roomes furniture store for the first time last weekend. Despite living in the area for years, I'd never bothered but I noticed they were stocking a really nice Orla Kiely sofa I was interested in and at a competitive price. I thought I'd go in and have a look.

The store is lovely and laid out over two floors. There is also parking at the rear.

I bopped around the store to the swinging tones of Ella Fitzgerald and Oscar Peterson in the background. The range of furniture is impressive and a lot of it is on trend. It is John Lewis tier.

The sofa I liked was also there and, after going away to have a mull, I took the plunge during the week.

However, in doing so, I checked back in with the store to find out when I might expect delivery. I was buying the sofa for a new build flat so the alternative over that period would be the floor

The lead time was 16 weeks but, when the store called, this was the point at which Roomes separated itself from any furniture company I've ever used in the past.

'I understand you want a loan sofa?'

'Yes........... wait a second, what did you say??'

It transpires that Roomes can arrange to loan you a sofa until your one is ready for delivery. But here's the kicker, it's at no cost to you! It is the most incredible customer-centric service.

I took them up on their offer and my new temporary sofa, fresh out of the box, was delivered yesterday. My only fear now is it will be too comfortable?

But what an exceptional service from an exceptional company.

I am super-impressed.

Bad customer service

Customer service was disgusting. Charged extra for things that were added to deal. When I wanted a refund they wanted to charge 50% handling charge and £75 collection charge so wanted furniture back for nothing. Lol

I will not be shopping with them again.

Good instore service / Late Delivery

I ordered a Ercol dining table - because it needed to be made from fresh they predicted a 6-8week wait time which I didn't mind at all. The service from the gents in store were fantastic, and they went above and beyond with the service. Explained everything detailed, and gave me brochures. He was very patient and waited for me to make my choice on the dining table I wanted, and gave me advise and spoke about the differences which made me settle for the Ercol table instead.

Knocked back 1 star, as I got a text saying the delivery would be arriving within 20 mins at 8.57am, and it came closer to 10.20. However, service is still excellent as they took care in building my table, and told me to leave them to it and they will tidy up after their self.

Dreadful after sales service

We purchased a dining table & chairs 5 years ago & after less than 2 years the chairs literally started bursting at the seams. We complained & were told this was wear & tear despite the fact we had 6 chairs & only 3 people using them - our old dining set lasted over 30 years & we only replaced it as it was looking a bit dated. Roomes agreed to replace 2 of the chairs as a gesture of goodwill but we are left with the remaining 4 really tatty ones. We were invited to replace hem @ £250 per chair but obviously declined! I appreciate I am late in posting this review but was newly irritated when having visitors at the weekend & realising how awful they look. I was hoping to attach photos but there doesn't appear to be the facility for this.
