An English variety, also known as 'Williams' Bon Chrétien', with large, yellow fruits which are very juicy and full of sweet, rich flavour. Tasty eaten fresh but one of the best for poaching, too. A strong, reliable cropper, 'Green Williams' is an early-cropping variety, producing its fruit from late August. With a max size of 4x4m, this tree is grafted onto a Quince A rootstock. Rootstocks restrict the size of a tree to make it better-suited for the average garden. Partially self-fertile (pollination group 3). This tree will fruit better when pollinated by another pear tree. Don't worry, in most areas there'll be a pear tree close enough to pollinate. Alternatively, you can always just plant another pear tree! Our trees are usually between 18 and 36 months old at the time of dispatch. Our trees are professionally pruned before dispatching. This formative pruning can involve cutting the main leader, if the expert tree growers decide this will produce a better shaped tree.
