Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 8,353 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the delivery service, citing frequent delays, missed deliveries, and parcels not arriving as expected. People often reported issues with tracking information being inaccurate or unavailable, and a general lack of reliability in the service. The customer service was also a major point of contention, with many finding it unhelpful, unprofessional, and difficult to reach a resolution. Some people were dissatisfied with the company's inability to follow delivery instructions or provide flexible delivery options, which other services offer. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with their local postmen, describing them as friendly and providing good service.

One star is overly generous

One star is overly generous. Zero would be more accurate.

Tracking notification emails telling me that my item was expected to be delivered the day before the email was written and now after 10 days of complete silence it appears to be in transit BACK to the retailer without even an attempt to deliver.

Sadly this is far from the first time I've experienced such poor service from the Bristol Mailing Centre.

They are a national disgrace now

Royal Fail yet again

Royal Fail yet again, item posted guarantee by 1pm. Parcel posted in time to meet the deadline and you guessed it Royal Mail have failed yet again to deliver by 1pm. Why is this joke of a company still operating.

Beware Royal Mail Tracked 24

Ordered some t-shirts from a company. Then sent confirmation and tracking details. The courier they used was Royal Mail Tracked 24. When checking the delivery I was informed it would be made on 27th May between 9.55am and 12.55pm. It was not delivered. This does not surprise me with Royal Mail. If I had bee informed by the retailer that they used Royal Mail I would not have ordered. Retailers take note.
Update - delivered 15.03

Every parcel I'm expecting It always…

Every parcel I'm expecting It always says attempt delivery but there wasn't anyone home while in fact I've been sat at home waiting for it and checking door camera there has been no attempted delivery. Clearly trying to fraudantly look like they are hitting targets. No card in post to say they tried to deliver

Tried to redirect my missed delivery to…

Tried to redirect my missed delivery to the local post office. Clicked on the link said sorry try again later. Phoned up and tried to get this redirected to the next day. The Royal Mail helpline changed it on their side (why did my link not work when there’s did?) wanted to get it delivered the next day not Friday. The guy in the phone couldn’t give an explanation. It would’ve used Evri if I had the chance instead of Royal Mail

Learn to read and follow instructions!!

I left strict instruction (a large note) on the inside of my front door glass panel to leave any delivery's with my next door neighbour. But, what does this Royal Mail delivery driver do, the idiot dumps the package on top of the bin outside for everyone to see.
Are Royal Mail now hiring people who can not read nowadays!!!

I was supposed to get a package today

I was supposed to get a package today. I was also home with a headache so I would have been able to receive it.
I heard some beeping outside and was ready to get up should it have been the post man. No knock came. Insteady I got a message that they tried to deliver my parcel and I did not answer.
I seriously hate when this happens. I don't understand the process behind it all but why would they do such a thing?
Does it save them time?? I doubt it.
Update: The tracking said they will automatically redeliver the next working day. At 3am today it was update that they tried a redelivery and couldn't reach me so I should book a redelivery.
Really? You tried to deliver a parcel at 3 in the morning?
I like my post man. He's grumpy but decent. No idea what chaos goes on inside the royal mail / parcel force. These guys using AI to bend consumer over?

Royal Mail 24 hour tracked…

Royal Mail offer a 24 hour tracked delivery service. This is not a guaranteed 24 hour. You’re telling me!!

Following a purchase, my parcel was collected in Wales on the 22nd May at 11:52. I received an email telling me it would arrive on the 24th. Note this is already over 24 hours. The next communication I received was two days later on the 26th to say it was out for delivery. It arrived at 10:00 on the 26th 94 hours after collection.

Coincidentally, my wife was expecting a parcel from Sea Salt today posted via Royal Mail which got to within 5 miles of its destination in Norfolk but then was miss-routed to “Midlands Superhub”. So far it has taken 5 days…… goodness knows when it will be delivered.

BOYCOTT ROYAL MAIL AT ALL COSTS

Failing company

Here's my most recent experience - in terms of letters , I have had to resend two documents via a signed-for service ( originally posted first-class ) as neither turned up within ten days. I posted a package to Leeds from North Yorkshire via a 48hr tracked service and it arrived five days later after having been to Birmingham first. My partner bought goods online from a retailer in Worcester and after five days asked the retailer to find out what was happening. Two days after that , the goods turned up having been to Guernsey in the meantime. Nothing remotely "Royal" about this service.

Crappy app

The app updates every time which is great, however it reinstates the apps I have deleted so when I should only have a couple of parcels to track it list over 8 making it very confusing. This has been going on for nearly a year now and no matter what I do it still carries on in the same crappy way! At least Evri app is good

Absolutely useless!!!!!

Absolutely useless!!!!!

Sent a parcel i sold on ebay, never arrived, i had to refund customer. I logged a complaint trying to claim my money back and they refused my request. Apparently they delivered the parcel, it took 42 days to deliver. They said that is an acceptable amount of time to deliver a parcel and if you want it there quicker I should have bought tracked 24hr or 48hr. Also the complaints process is a joke and you have to start the whole thing each time from scratch after every reply. They do it like that to make you want to give up and not go through with the compensation claim. The customer claimed they never received the parcel after 42 days, so royal mail left me completely out of pocket. Also I seriously doubt they delivered it to the correct address. Over Xmas we had 3 parcels delivered to the wrong addresses, I was fortunate that all the people that received the parcels in error were honest enough to bring them to my house for me. BOYCOTT ROYAL MAIL AT ALL COSTS, maybe then they will actually do something about their appalling service. Also the way things are going, it's probably cheaper to send a letter as a parcel with another delivery company rather than buy a stamp and use royal mail.

Poor service

I waited in for a parcel and they said no one was in - they came nowhere near my door. This is the second time in a few months that this has happened. Their customer service is just a waste of time.
Royal Mail used to be the best service-not anymore - they don’t even bother to respond to the reviews

How to Destroy Customer Loyalty One Stamp Price Rise at a Time

Royal Mail has become an absolute masterclass in how to take a once-respected service and slowly run it straight into the ground. Every year, prices go up, service quality goes down, and customers are expected to just smile and accept it. Honestly, it’s embarrassing at this point.

One of the biggest jokes is their so-called “locker” system. Compared to competitors, Royal Mail is living in the Stone Age. Companies like Amazon, InPost, DHL, and UPS seem to understand basic convenience. They place lockers where people actually are — shopping centres, busy town locations, retail parks, supermarkets — places that make sense. Meanwhile, Royal Mail acts like installing a single locker is some kind of NASA-level engineering project.

I live in a fairly large town and there are barely any Royal Mail lockers at all. Even worse, the few they do have are often placed in inconvenient locations that feel like they were chosen by someone throwing darts at a map while blindfolded. There’s literally a perfect central location in town packed with lockers from multiple delivery companies, used daily by huge numbers of shoppers. Amazon? There. InPost? There. DHL and UPS? Also there. Royal Mail? Nowhere to be seen. Not a single locker. And there’s loads of room for one. It perfectly sums up how disconnected Royal Mail is from reality.

What pushed me over the edge was paying for postage online, travelling all the way across town to use one of their lockers, only to discover the printer wasn’t even working. So the entire trip was a complete waste of time. No warning. No backup solution. Just “tough luck.” That level of incompetence is honestly staggering. Imagine running a postal service where customers do everything themselves — buy the postage, print the labels, travel to the locker — and your equipment STILL can’t function properly.

And somehow, despite all this, stamp prices keep rising year after year. They charge more while offering less convenience, fewer useful locations, worse reliability, and increasingly outdated infrastructure. It feels less like a modern postal company and more like a confused relic stumbling behind its competitors by about fifteen years.

After years of using Royal Mail, I’m done. This company desperately needs a reality check.

Prefer no stars at all .
Blonde postwoman is absolutely vile and rude.
Will never follow polite written instructions on where to leave parcels.
Thrown on dirty dustbin in full view of anyone else that comes through my gate .
Was exceptionally rude today ..spoke to the CCTV camera i have above my gate and said…no more deliveries for you ..and swore at the camera !
Also sent email saying i had failed collection..but have video and screenshot of her walking out my gate with this parcel .
Liar and worst person in Royal mail to exist..she should not be doing this job 🤬
So far Royal Mail have not resolved this problem at all.
Now i guess i wont be getting parcels or mail again 🤬‼️
Worst delivery people to exist now .
Evri has actually improved and much better than these cowboys or should i say ..cowgirls 🤬🤬🤬

Now RM have started lying about attempted deliveries..

I feel guilty leaving this review as my ocal postie is brilliant however he works for a company that should not be in business... Even though I live in London, my deliveries are erratic and now they have even started lying about attempting deliveries. How successive Governments have allowed this service, with its Royal appendage, to degenerate to a farce, I don't know... Suspect the RM organisation and Parcelforce will be gone soon, consigned to history like so many failed delivery companies...
