Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 8,353 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the delivery service, citing frequent delays, missed deliveries, and parcels not arriving as expected. People often reported issues with tracking information being inaccurate or unavailable, and a general lack of reliability in the service. The customer service was also a major point of contention, with many finding it unhelpful, unprofessional, and difficult to reach a resolution. Some people were dissatisfied with the company's inability to follow delivery instructions or provide flexible delivery options, which other services offer. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with their local postmen, describing them as friendly and providing good service.

Pure stupidity.

Last night I had a parcel left at my front door, we were out. A man called this morning looking for the parcel saying RM had delivered to my address and took a photo. He lives 2 streets up, house number 8, I'm number 6 and both street names are totally different. Just how stupid could the delivery person be.

Royal mail, thieves or illiterate?

This incompetent company either hires thieves or illiterates to work for them.

A simple address is constantly misread by them and they send my expensive packages to the wrong address and because the moron (or thief) has confirmed they have delivered (to the wrong address) I can't get a refund or replacement.

Then when you try to complain their website sends you in circles in a pathetic attempt to artificially lower their complaint numbers.

The sooner the government stops bailing these incompetent tax theives, the sooner it can be disassembled and sold to a competent courier company and we will all be the better for it.

Poor experience with Royal Mail

Order clothing from Roman on ‘Royal Mail Tracked 24’, three days have now passed with no sign of my order - and they can’t even be bothered to update my tracking details. The cherry on top was the 50 minute wait time on their customer support line, clearly deliberately designed to discourage customers from calling. I’ll be letting Roman know they’ve lost a customer because of their choice of delivery partner, Royal Mail deserve to fail as a company as they have zero respect.

Well that's a new one!

Well that's a new one! I had two parcels that apparently couldn't be delivered yesterday because my "address was inaccessible". Now if I could just work out what they means because delivered to my address and left in an enclosed porch (which I don't have) turned out to mean shoved in a bush on the wrong street in the pouring road.

Shocking service!

Absolutely appalling service!! Quite a few times sending parcels to the wrong dispatch office and does sod all about it unless you call them up and chase them up. They say to not be impatient and to leave contacting them until the day after an estimated delivery date, but if you do that they'll just delay it even more because you haven't pushed them to do it. I live in Bath, I ordered a parcel that ended up in Cirencester DO after being stuck in London for longer than usual, so I see it's in Bristol after Cirencester the same day and it puts my mind at ease thinking it'll be with me tomorrow, look like this morning and it's still in Bristol even though when it arrives late at night it'll go to the Bath do early hours of the morning-early morning (4-7). Clearly because I didn't contact them, even though they were physically able to send it to bath and delivery it today they thought because of the 1-3 working day method that they should just leave it a whole 3 days instead, if it's not there by Saturday it'll be late and extremely delayed.. absolutely slack and useless!

Persistent failure to deliver on time.

Persistent failure to deliver on promises. Hours wasted waiting for a delivery that never materialises then receiving false messages stating they attempted delivery but were unable to gain access.
Security and doorbell cameras prove this to be false. Shameful!

Appalling Service On International Tracked & Signed

RY480752550GB International Tracked & Signed from Edinburgh, Scotland to Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand:

23/05 - posted in Edinburgh
24/05 - arrives at Heathrow. Status changed to "leaving the UK."
28/05 - still sitting at Heathrow with the status "your item is leaving the UK."

Lead time is supposed to be 7 working days. 5 working days have now passed and item is still sitting in the UK at Heathrow.

This will be the last time I ever use Royal Mail, the service is appalling.

Shocking Customer Service These Days

Based on our local delivery service I would rate them 5 star as our local Postman is fantastic and has been delivering to us for many many years. However, I posted a parcel using a pre-paid Royal Mail QR code from Vinted for 48 hr Tracked service at a local Royal Mail drop off shop, following which it took over 3 weeks to be scanned in at the local Royal Mail depot less than 3 miles away. It eventually got to the recipient. I complained to Royal Mail Customer Service and asked for an understanding of what had gone wrong so that I might feel confident using this drop off shop again, as it was the first time I had used it. I received a very generic reply from Royal Mail and when I asked for a detailed response to my original complaint they essentially told me they weren't prepared to provide one. I have complained to Royal Mail a couple of times before in the last few years and have always received excellent customer service, but now they seem as though they don't give a damn!

A truly diabolical service…

What a diabolical service from the Royal Mail at the moment. Four days to get a First Class £1.80 letter from Suffolk to Essex in April. Now an Amazon 24 hour tracked item also delayed by a further two days in May (three days in total). Time to pack the tents up and go home if you can't do better RM....

Awful

Awful. Ordered a phone a week ago. Says 48hr tracked, which interestingly does not say working days nor is there an Asterix for terms and conditions. Yesterday tracking stated it would be delivered today between 8:20 and 12:20. Cancelled plans and woke to find it no longer stated today. So that was false information. It was at the Post Office last Thursday yet didn't move until Tuesday??? How is Bank Holiday a valid reason? Why did it not move Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Having rang been told it would be later in the week. That will be 10 days. Absolute joke. Royal???? 10 days for 48hr tracked. Don't waste your money with this company.

Important mail on Tracked 24 delayed

Sent an urgent medical sample for testing by the Tracked 24 service. It's taken nearly 36 hours just to reach the sorting centre and in this heat who knows if the sample will still be good when it arrives. Not recommended and definitely don't use Royal Mail for anything important.

Extremely disappointing service

I ordered a parcel and had the option to select a delivery service. I selected Royal Mail as I knew from previous experience I would have the opportunity to alter the delivery date to a time when I would be home. Sure enough, I received an email letting me know the parcel is on its way. I immediately requested the delivery for a different day when I would be home. I had a confirmation email. I had an email on the original delivery date to advise that my parcel was left with a neighbour. As I wasn't going to be home for 3 more days, this was extremely frustrating for both me and my neighbour. They took my parcel expecting me to collect it later the same day, not to have to keep it for 3 days. I complained to Royal Mail and had a brush-off generic response. Extremely disappointing service from Royal Mail.

late royal mail delivery a farce.....

while the mailman who comes early, is top notch. i cant understand why another parcel was brought with him.has it arrived at bury before he came out on delivery. in the last 12 month a bunch of my parcels have been put out for late in the day and dont arrive till 21.00 at times.today i am sat waiting for aparcel and i am autistic by the way so i am stuck in limbo....i start to watch the .R.M map count down from 90 to 10. then all disapears and say unable to deliver. then says delivery attempted..i am sat 8ft from the door with the inner door open....no card lef so what did they do waft with a feather.....this is so frustrating as an autistic unabe to move forward..so made a complaint email with the usual this could take 7 days or more and they usally wat weeks to ensure it arrives then say oh you got your parcel all is ok now ....really dont make me laugh...well following day and still says delivery attempted. i worked 30yrs at royal mail and still know plenty of updateworkers...apparently the even number i live on are consitantly being messed about. and more likely the parcel wasnt even brought out. this is urgent medical items and they play game and lie when it goes wrong........UPDATE 28TH DRIVER LIES AGAIN ABOUT ATTEMPTED DELIVERY. FRONT DOOR AND VESTIBULE DOOR WIDE OPEN FOR HOURS WITH ME SAT THERE...........THEY SHOULD BE SACKED..

Making false statements

My tracking number is:
MK058564337GB

I wasn't working today, and even though I was home all day, I received a message saying they would come the next day because no one was there. What upsets me is that a corporate company would lie so easily.

Would it be so difficult to say that we won't be able to deliver your package today due to high demand?

I don't know what to say. It's such a shame, such a terrible shame.

Absolutely incompetent said thay were…

Absolutely incompetent said thay were delivering a parcel today guess what it didn't turn up again. 85% of my mail is over late or it goes missing. I have sent mail taking out insurance and I would not pay out because they said I delivered it 29 days later it took them that long did not even message me I had to find out myself. Why they hadn't refunded me? The company said they never received it. So I am 100 pounds.
Down but they don't give a d*** another company. What is a waste of space? Totally incompetent.

Liars!

Liars!! They said they attempted to deliver my parcel today, but I was not home. Little that they know I took a day off!! And I can easily prove there was no one near my house based on camera footage. Raises complain a complain that will go only to a regional manager who will chat to that delivery man… I can’t and will not get any updates on the complain
