SCOTRAIL should be ashamed
How can you justify being partnered with a company that shoots pigeons and destroys their nests and babies? These are living animals, not disposable pests.
You’re supposed to protect birds, not be associated with organisations that kill them for convenience. It completely undermines everything you claim to stand for.
If this is what your partnerships look like, then what does “protection” even mean?
This is extremely disappointing and unacceptable.
Love my purchase!
Ordered a lovely bird bath and at a great price! Ordering and delivery were both great, on time and informed
RSPB Shop
Ordered Bird food- mealworms, peanuts and fat pellets- a number of times from their shop and it's always good quality if a bit pricy. Fat balls with mealworms have attracted Woodpeckers as well as the usual varieties.
Pretty useless lot
Pretty useless lot. The information at Newport is incomplete on their website. They have no active local groups to get involved, or if they do it is kept very quiet. You ask a question on their facebook feed and nobody bothers to reply.
If education is part of their remit, they are failing miserably, so I quit.
Just great
I have thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the RSPB, the great magazine, free access to 170 wildlife reserves all while knowing that I am supporting the conservation of nature.
Online shop
Had an issue with an item I received and customer service sorted out a replacement being sent, thank you :)
Beautiful Tree decorations 2025…
I ordered some of this years rspb Christmas tree decorations and I absolutely love them. Beautiful sensitive well designed. Excellent value.vthey came well packaged and quickly. Very pleased
Payment failure
I tried to buy Christmas cards but the site would not let me pay!
Absolutely appalling
Absolutely appalling. I will never order from RSPB again. Sadly they choose to use DPD for their deliveries. It will surprise nobody who has been unfortunate enough to have been at the rough end of their service to believe that they didn’t deliver, said they had tried to which was a lie. I was in and Reception in my apartment block was open but they took it took a local store for me to collect. I’m 80 and disabled so that isn’t possible. On phoning RSPB the upshot is I will have to wait literally weeks for a refund as they can’t guarantee to use a different delivery service so I have to wait for my order to be returned to them (probably about 2 weeks) then another 5-10 days at best for my refund to be arrant. Absolutely unacceptable and I will never order from RSPB again and advise others not to.
I ordered two packets of ten Christmas…
I ordered two packets of ten Christmas cards that were £5 each with a delivery charge of 3.95. Only one packet of cards arrived. I called customer services and was advised that as the other pack were out of stock I would be refunded for them. I asked whether they could just send me another pack of the same cards, however was told I would need to reorder if I wanted more. So I have paid £9 for ten Christmas cards, the most expensive packet that I have ever bought!
RSPB Clothing Shop Appalling
Appalling! Items not despatched to arrive in time frame stated. Still not despatched. You're not actually buying from RSPB, although led to believe you are. Teemills is the company - don't reply to messages.
Zero understanding of farming
We spend time after a long day talking to a volunteer recruiter who was touting hard for money. Sadly, the person knew nothing about local farming practices, had total disdain for our farming community and mocked in a patrionising way our attempts to explain how sustainable our methods are. Disputed that dry stone walls help all wildlife and are the most sustainable way to build boundaries. When you send volunteers from the south, remember that in the north we have managed our farms in a timeless tradition and very little is "new" or unique to the area. And yes we do see at least one bird of prey every day (Merlins, buzzards, sparrow hawks, goshawks).
Excellent Service from the RSPB!
The website is easy to navigate. Almost certainly, you can buy bird peanuts elsewhere more cheaply but I wanted to investigate a bird bath. I have it now. It was delivered along with “Buggy Nibble” to benefit from the RSPB free postage if order greater than £20.
My avian friends seemed to enjoy the nibbles so I thought I might buy some more, at the same time supporting the RSPB.
I ordered 16 September 2025 and I have the order now delivered 14:36h Friday 19 September 2025 courtesy of ‘dpd’ delivery. Bang on time! Securely packaged and awaiting feedback from the birds regarding the quality!
I sought to review RSPB and was surprised to find some 1-star reviews.
Disappointed…
We are members of RSPB and we travelled to Dungeness to visit their shop…We had not visited for a while and astonished about the change there!
There was no shop! Gone!
Different staff. All volunteers!
Will not take cash! Card only for tea/coffee. Ice-cream biscuits, crisps and some cold drinks! Then I noticed a leaflet saying about parking charges non-members £6:00 with Members to leave cards showing in the window! Well, we did not have our cards with us as this is a complete change! You only showed your cards if you were going into the reserve! Now they are required for parking. We left our registration details with them and I did say we never saw any info on parking and we were informed where it was (hiding) However, there was a (one) sign near a notice board and it was PaybyPhone… There appeared to be no legal text on penalties! We also are fed up with begging letters and communications, we will be cancelling our memberships!
Did not deliver bird food and no refund
I ordered bird food. They were not able to deliver or give a date when it would be. I cancelled the order. They acknowledged the cancellation via email. I ordered Feb 25. To date I have not received a refund. They have ceased to respond to my emails. They claim they voided my transaction with paypal and I should have a refund. I havent. I have raised an issue with paypal. But they refer me to RSPB . I would not recommend dealing with RSPB Shop. They also sent me the incorrect order. Before this issue and it took sometime to sort it out. I consider this organisation is being run by staff who are not competent.
Disappointed with Delivery and Customer Service Experience
I’m really disappointed with my recent order from the RSPB online shop. I paid extra for next working day delivery, expecting my parcel to arrive on a Tuesday. While the order was dispatched promptly and I received a 2-hour delivery window from the courier (DX Express), the delivery never happened. We were home all day, but no one came. Later, I received an email saying they had missed us and left a calling card—there was no card, and the driver had clearly not been anywhere near our property.
This exact scenario repeated itself the following day. I tracked the driver on the map both times, and they were nowhere near us when they claimed to have attempted delivery. I contacted RSPB customer service and spoke to a representative who confirmed that the courier had submitted two photos of a property that was not ours. She assured me the delivery would be rearranged and that I would be refunded the extra delivery charge.
However, I then received an email from DX asking me to reschedule the delivery myself. I chose Thursday, but again, no delivery. DX later confirmed via chat that they wouldn’t deliver until Friday. I finally received my order on Friday, four working days after placing it.
So far, I’ve had no confirmation of the promised refund. I understand RSPB is a charity, and perhaps they rely on customers not chasing refunds, but this experience has put me off shopping with them again. It’s a shame, as I support their mission, but the service was simply not acceptable.
