Popped into the Plymouth store
Popped into the Plymouth store to see if I could get some individual Epsom inks. Although they didn't have what I wanted, the assistant checked online and found where I could get them. Very helpful. I ordered the inks via the Ryman online store as he suggested and got exactly what I wanted.

Today -11/05/26 @17:35, CLAIRE, the clerk at Ryman Stationary/Shandwick Place, gave us EXCEPTIONAL service.
We are foreign travelers who needed help navigating the online form to send a package via DHL (not as easy as it sounds) and Claire patiently helped us complete the process WHILE multi-tasking 5 other customers. She never lost her cool. We watched her work as an interpreter for two elderly people at the same time as helping us. Claire deserves extra special recognition for her attitude, work ethic and complete competence.

Not as good as it should be
Ordered shredding sacks for confidential waste. The instructions made it sound like it was easy to get a convenient collection date but sadly this wasn’t true. We did arrange one eventually but it wasn’t easy. Also their click and collect service is weirdly slow. It’s quicker to have an order delivered to your home than to one of their stores which seems the wrong way round- why offer it then?!

Ryman's had the right products at the…
Ryman's had the right products at the right price and delivered them promptly. One of them was damaged in the post. Rymans was easily contacted and supplied a replacement the next day.
I can highly recommend their service.

Ordering was easy but delivery problems spoiled the experience.
Ordering our storage items was easy and straightforward. However delivery was more problematic. We were given a delivery date that did not suit us so we changed it for a day we would be at home. Sadly that either wasn't seen or accepted by the courier and they tried to deliver it anyway but we were out! Using the card they left to rearrange another delivery date didn't work as there was no reference number given. Eventually we were able to track our order online and rearranged another day. When the 2 parcels arrived they were damaged but the courier left before we could open them. When we did unpack them there was damage to several wheels and also 2 drawers. When l phoned Ryman the person l spoke to was helpful but the reception was very poor so having a conversation was quite difficult. Eventually she understood my problem, apologised and agreed to send me replacements for the broken items at no charge. I was given a date for their arrival a week later. Amazingly these replacements arrived the very next day which was brilliant! Amusingly it was the same courier who was amazed l had ordered 2 identical parcels the next day. When l informed him they were replacements as the first lot were broken he was quite shamefaced and left quickly. So thank you Rymans for being so efficient at replacing my order. It is a pity that the couriers aren't quite as organised at delivering on the right days or treating the parcels with enough care so as to avoid damage in transit.

Shocking customer service and atittude
If you're looking for slow service, rude staff, and incompetent customer service, this is the perfect place (Ryman at Arndale). Second-hand embarrassment from how painful and cringeworthy it was navigating the staff's dismissive attitude today (3 May 2026), which hasn't been initiated by myself at all. Just a PSA for others :) x

I would like say a huge thank you to the staff at the Birmingham City Centre store. Especially Tom. My daughter, running in the Birmingham Half Marathon/The Great Run the next day, did not have her name on her running number like it was meant to. The female assistant was very helpful giving product details, waiting times and prices to rectify the situation. Tom - an absolute asset to your team then did the honours. Tom who was rushed off of his feet with a growing queue at 4pm on a Saturday afternoon, made a name badge to exactly match the colour, font and size of the number badge. It wasn't the easiest of tasks and at no point did he waver. Always polite and professional. Thank you so so much. You have made one runner a very happy young lady.
