hit and run event recorded buy the policy - deductible should be 250 but they want me to pay the collision deductible then refund me money later - in all my years of being in insurance and being the victim of hit and runs in Texas never have I had to pay the collision deductible and expect a refund. making me rethink Safeco as my preferred carrier.

I have had Safeco Auto Insurance for 20 years. In the past I had great service, when I had an actual agent.

Recently their service has gone downhill. I got a notice via US Mail that they were adding two people to my policy. I have no idea who those people are. I would have been charged extra and those people could have filed claims I would be liable for.

I called to demand an answer and all they have for 'agents' are college students in a call center. I got some lame excuse that Safeco had investigated me and found these 2 people were living in my house. Total LIE.

I have lived alone in Alaska in the same house for a year. No one else is on my lease. Previously I lived alone in Idaho and Oregon.

My privacy and account have been compromised by scammers working for Safeco. I filed a BBB complaint and am getting quotes from other Insurance Companies.

Maybe it is just the nature of insurance companies? Maybe the experience could be different based on the cases or different agents?

I filed my first ever liability claim through them. They refused to admit liability or come up with a reasonable compromise when the POLICE declared it was the fault of the driver on their policy.

There must be a law against this kind of irresponsible action.

Absolutely the worst Insurance company I have ever dealt with. In pretty much all aspects they were completely worthless. There are too many issues to write on here. I would easily take up two whole pages. But I will mention the last experience I had. My PARKED car that was hit by a man that passed out and rolled down the hill had totalled my car. They refused to offer give me half of what my car was valued at, did not find any other comparable vehicles for valuation and considered it a COLLISION on my end which meant a $1000 deductible and a hit on my record. Again, my car was parked in front of my house where I was sitting watching TV. I ended up contacting the insurance commissioner and filing a complaint and needless to say, they paid me back and called to apologize. I switched insurance the day after that.

I had my auto policy paid in full. I canceled the policy to go with another company and was told I would receive a full refund back onto my credit card. LIE!!!! Even though the policy was paid in full they claimed I owed them so only sent a partial check as a refund! I argued and argued that since my policy was canceled on 9/19/2020 prior to that month's pay date of 9/21/2020. I did not owe for that month and they claimed I was in arrears. How am I in arrears when the policy is paid in full??? They also said they were giving 15.00 a month credit twice due to COVID yet they never did!!! Guess this company needs the money more than a senior on SSI !!! RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!

My first insurance claim ever, and sure enough, Safeco offered me a fraction of the funds required to fix the damage to my home.

There is a very good reason why some insurance companies have terrible reputations.

Trashy company. They helped complete the insurance fraud this drunk girl generated against me. Austin Cripps? Yeah. That guy blamed me for his laziness, then Juliet Parkin did nothing to protect me from their fraud.

Horrrrrrrrible experience.
