Manufacturing problem
To be honest, the customer service doesn’t even deserve 1 star. I had a zip break on a Moon Patrol ski jacket that had only been used for 7 days. The warranty department then had the nerve to claim the zip came from a completely different coat (a purple one!).
It’s unbelievable that they seem to have absolutely no idea about the products they sell. I even provided photos and video clearly showing the olive green jacket with the broken zip, yet they still refused the warranty claim.
Instead, they offered a 20% voucher, which is frankly insulting considering the issue is clearly a fault with the jacket. Completely pathetic response and terrible customer service
I purchased a ski jacket from Salomon…
I purchased a ski jacket from Salomon expecting premium quality and durability to match the high price tag. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing.
The jacket was worn for just one ski trip (7 days in total) and then carefully stored. I followed Salomon’s online care instructions precisely — washing it once at 20°C, even though the label states 30°C. After that single wash, the glue used in parts of the garment disintegrated, causing a pocket to detach completely.
I was shocked to discover that sections of an expensive technical ski jacket are glued rather than properly stitched. For a brand positioned at the higher end of the market, this feels like poor construction and corner-cutting. What makes this even more frustrating is that my previous ski jacket from a well known outdoor company cost just £60 and lasted through several ski trips without any issues whatsoever.
To add to the disappointment, Salomon will only offer repair assistance if the garment is under two years old. After that, they provide no internal repair support — unlike competitors, who stand behind their products for the long term.
When investing in technical outerwear designed for high-intensity, high-risk sports, customers expect durability, quality craftsmanship, and meaningful aftercare support. I expected far more from Salomon. This experience has seriously undermined my confidence in the brand.
Very comfy, but bad quality
I’ve been wearing my Salomon shoes for about three months now, and I have mixed feelings.
On the positive side, they are extremely comfortable. They feel great right out of the box and provide solid support for both daily use and longer walks. The quick lace system is excellent — it’s easy to adjust, secure, and much more convenient than traditional laces. That part of the design really stands out.
However, I’m disappointed with the durability. The inner lining at the heel (the soft fabric inside the shoe) has almost completely worn through after just three months of normal use. For shoes in this price range, that level of wear is unacceptable. I also found it frustrating that I couldn’t find replacement laces in any Salomon store during my travels in south east Asia, which seems odd given the proprietary lace system.
Overall, the comfort and design are great, but the durability and lack of available spare parts don’t match the premium price tag.

I cannot fault the service I received .I had a pair of Odyssey trainers with sole delamination .I had a no quibbles replacement sent from France within days. I always buy Salomons for quality ,I once bought Mammut trainers and the Vibram soles fell apart in 4 months,Mammut insisted that it was wear and tear and refused to honour my consumer rights.
No qr code for returns
Trying to return boots the wrong size. They dont provide a qr code, only a label you need to print. I dont have a printer, its 2026 for gods sake. Most people dont. Very unhelpful over the phone.
Reputable and Good quality
Overall Salomon is a decent place for outdoor gear, most notably snowboard gear. I’ve had my Salomon Huck Knife for about a year now and it was delivered to me on time, with no damage, and was as described. The only difficulties I’ve seen from Salomon is their low stock quantities sometimes making it hard to get your exact sizing. Overall not bad and would buy again.
Salomon Doesn’t Care About Its Customers
I recently purchased two Salomon OSMO Sigma helmets. The visor lens of one helmet was broken in transit. After looking for a part, I found the replacement parts available on a non US site. That site would not ship to the US. After checking with Salomon, I was advised the part would not be made available to me in the US. As such, I wasted the cost of 1 helmet and Salomon has shown complete indifference to my need for a solution. Moreover, there are no warnings on the sites where OSMO Sigma helmets are available, that replacement parts are not available in the US. This is a truly broken retail model and I cannot recommend that anyone purchase Salomon products.
Complete incompetence
The level of incompetence Salomon displays is quite extrodinary. I was told 5 different, contradictory things by 5 different people. The "customer service" people are clueless and rude. Why on earth do they not do some basic training with these people before letting them loose on paying customers. I will NEVER by from these imbeciles ever again.
Poor Customer Service
I purchased a pair of shoes for £185, and after only 2–3 months of light use — worn roughly 1–2 times per week — they are already discolouring. The issue isn’t limited to one area either. There is noticeable discolouration at the front, which your “experts” claim is caused by “external forces”, yet there is also discolouration at the back of the shoe where there is absolutely no sign of damage or anything that could be considered an external force.
Your response states that “discolouration” and “fading” are not covered under warranty unless they are due to a material defect. My argument is exactly that: this discolouration is the result of faulty material that is not performing as it should. A £185 shoe should not be fading within a matter of weeks under normal, light use.
To make matters worse, the colour of my shoe has now been discontinued, which raises the question of whether this is a known issue with this particular material or colourway.
I have now requested the full report on my shoes so I can see precisely what has been said, and I have asked for this to be escalated. It is completely unacceptable for a premium product at this price point to deteriorate this quickly, and it is unreasonable to classify this as “normal wear and tear”. No customer would expect a shoe of this calibre to fade after 1–3 months.
Really poor customer service.
Really poor customer service.. I purchased a £200 pair of hiking boots, which I had previously also purchased and they were brilliant. However, the new pair rubbed my left ankle, I couldn't wear them and returned them to one of their retailers, where I bought them from, for a replacement. But they didn't have any in stock, so I asked Salomon directly, if they could source a replacement for me, but they said that because I didn't order them from their website directly, they can't help me. I now have no boots and no help from Salomon. Really poor customer service. At the end of the day, the boots were made by them. They just leave their customers hanging. Do not waste your money on their products, because if you have a problem, they don't want to know, unless you order directly from their website.
Appalling Customer Service
An absolute joke of a company, and have rarely experienced customer service like it! Do not order from them if you dont want headache if something goes wrong!
I ordered 2 sets of shoes at £185 each, which failed to arrive on time for an upcoming trip. Their website clearly states that orders submitted prior to 11am are delivered within 2-4 business days, but this didn't happen. As such I returned the shoes only to be hit with a £5 returns fee. I have been charged for items that didnt arrive within the advertised delivery timescales. As such I contacted customer services thinking this would be an easy issue to resolve, but how wrong was I! They have accepted no responsibility and provided me with information which contradicts their website terms. Will never purchase anything from them again.
I have had the most frustrating…
I have had the most frustrating experience as with others on here, they charge such a premium for their products but have a non existent customer service department. I have been waiting for 7 weeks for update on an investigation with my return and everytime i contact i am told to just wait and they cannot do anything. They have an attitude and just say they cant do anything ive never seen a company this dismissive across anybody you speak to.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service emailed multiple times and the same response over and over. Investigation has been going on for 3 weeks and not able to give any update and still have my money, utterly useless. Will not be purchasing anything from Salomon in the future and would advise others to purchase elsewhere.
Absolute pathetic service I ordered a…
Absolute pathetic service I ordered a pair of downhill ski pools Friday at about 11 PM. I called Monday first thing to cancel my order. They told me I couldn’t cancel for some reason even though my product hadn’t shipped yet then I spoke with the manager she said she would make sure it was canceled. It never was it shipped three days later then they told me in order to receive my money back. I had to return the item at my time in order to get a refund pathetic service. Do not order customer service online. You will get better results by talking to a wall.
On Saturday
On Saturday, we went into the new Saloman store in Westfield to look for light- weight trekking trainers. The sales assistant, Afan, talked us through the product spec in detail. He was both knowledgeable and courteous, putting us under no pressure to buy. We did end up buying them and are delighted with both the product and customer service we received. All best wishes for the new store - we had a fab experience!
Not what they were
To start with I had nothing but Salomon boots/walking shoes. Then their unique colours(I loved and owned the mid green boots)disappeared and they became plain like all their competitors, did own speed cross 3 and 4 in slightly brighter colours, now both me and my wife bought some even though they are dull in colour, noticed other day that mine had split above the toe line, now my wife's has gone in the same place and the sole is coming off and only had them for about a year, just to compare I still have the green boots even though they are a little tired and I got them about 15 years ago so the issue is not care, the quality is just not good anymore, time for a change

I’ve bought multiple pairs from Salomon and although i’ve had an issue with the inner sole tearing they were very helpful in replacing them, contacted them at 11am and they provided a voucher for replacements by 2pm. Their warranty process was very easy to use and their customer service was extremely helpful

I went to the Salomon in Westfield and Armani was amazing help for me and my mum :)
Terrible customer service, poor product quality, avoid this brand.
Purchased a pair of Speedcross 6 GTX trainers, directly from Salomon (online). After 30 minutes of wearing them, I felt rubbing and discomfort within the heel area of one of them. Upon inspection, I could see that a fold had been stitched into the material, a fault in the manufacture.
I bought these ready for a trip to Canada. I contacted customer service, who just kept delaying me. Nothing got sorted. I am now in Canada (2-week holiday) and I have received an email threatening to cancel my complaint if I don't return the footwear within 7 days, using a returns label I have not received, when I am out of my home country on holiday (which they know about).
The customer service is very poor, do yourself a favour, avoid this brand. The quality of Salomon products has also gone downhill, clearly trying to maximise profits at the cost of quality.
Non-existent customer service
Bought some shoes in November. Never delivered. Have contacted customer services multiple times, but the only update I have had is that they are looking into it. The items should have arrived 3 weeks ago! Poor service.
