Great dash cam and GPS features but beware of the contract. Our company only just recently signed on with Samsara in January 2026 with a total of 9 licenses/devices. Unfortunately right after our 30 day trial we lost a major customer and with that we no longer had a need for 3 out of the 9 devices/licenses. We contacted Samsara in hopes they would be understanding but they weren't. We submitted the email that was proof from our customer that they canceled the contract, we submitted a signed letter from the president of our company acknowledging the loss of the contract, we reiterated that the devices were never even installed or activated which is something they can very much see on their end and we even went as far as telling them to call our customer to confirm which was very unprofessional on our end but we were desperate. Long story short, they were not budging as the contract terms locked us into 3 years. While i understand things happen which are beyond our control such as the loss of a contract, it was very disheartening that after everything we provided them with especially as a brand new customer that they didnt even consider this. We will not be renewing at the contract end.

After our contract ended, the company continued to charge our Visa card each month without authorization. As a result, we’ve had to dispute these charges with Visa on a monthly basis to have them removed.
Months later and they're still applying charges!!!

I started with this company several years ago. They were just starting out. They were actually really good. I like the technology as well they offered to bring people out to train our staff which, of course never happened. Promise after promise they are just empty promises.
Then the equipment started to fail. So they sent more but failed to send the right adaptors to for our vehicles so they sat in a box.
Email after email after email after email I could go on and on one year two years three years. Because I had installed quite a few of them already and was just waiting on the power cords and it connected well with another program, I kept out trying to get the service they once offered.
Every month I would get a new sales rep that wanted to know everything about my business and take hours of my time. I finally had to put my foot down.
Finally, I made a stand. I’m not paying anything until I get the complete equipment and the bills kept coming.
You cannot reach anyone they will not get back to you and if they do just like the automated reply from Kelly it is meaningless and absolutely pointless. It solves nothing.
My last and I mean, last attempt I tried to resolve a Manager Keenan blamed me for not answering one email after 29 of mine went unanswered. Strangely enough, I look back through my emails and I had answered the email. They just simply have no ability to do business.
They are a scam people stay as far away from them as you can and please for God sakes don’t give them a credit card. I was smart enough not to do that.
This is a company you want to avoid

Update - this issue was resolved and we are very satisfied with the resolution. We upgraded from a 1 star to 5 star without any coercion from them. We were happy to do so.
We used Samsara service for a few years, but as our fleet downsized we tried to contact them to cancel our contract with them. After repeated calls and voicemails without return calls we assumed our account had been cancelled. A month or 2 later we were charged our auto renewal. Again we emailed, called and no response from the company. We eventually challenged with our credit card company to get the refund, but they responded and we declined, so again we kept trying to get ahold of the company.. i finally got connected with someone in February via their online chat. I asked several times to talk to someone through this process and documented all we had done to try and cancel and they kept asking for more things, never would allow us to talk to a manager and did nothing to cancel our service or refund our renewal - even though it was obvious we had no used the service since prior to August 2025 and renewal was October 2025. They may have a great product, but their customer service is terrible and they are more concerned with getting customers locked into subscriptions and collecting subscription fees and making it difficult to cancel by avoiding calls, emails, and other forms of contact - avoid this company if any of those things are important to you. I'm sure there are other companies available to provide quality products and good customer service.

What a product! The utility of having Samsara extends way beyond driving behaviours. In fact, there's just too many to list here.
For driving behaviours and reducing the number of vehicle incidents, Samsara has been instrumental. Clear decline in incidents and unwanted behaviours.
One of my personal favourites is the ease in which I can download footage from vehicles. Even with non-vehicle related incidents/accidents, Samsara has been an outstanding help. It truly is a game changer. It has made my job so much easier.
A picture, or in this case a video, paints a thousand words. Being able to see exactly what happened makes understanding incidents infinitely easier.
I don't know how we managed before getting Samsara!

I would stay away from getting into business with Samsara. We are a smaller company and thought that we were protecting our team and oursleves by getting dashcams. We have had to downsize our fleet by 37% due to loss of business and they refuse to adjust the contract to reflect only the devices we are using. They DO NOT allow any kind of flexibility for your company. Want to add devices? No problem! Want to reduce? No, sorry you cant do that. Oh wait - there is a thing called partial contract termination that customer service will send you, but when you go to the work of completing it and send it in the response is - sorry, we can't do that if its been more that 30 days since you received equipment. We are having to pay for devices in vehicles we are not using for an entire 1 year and 9 months, losing about $32,000. Its just not right.
This system is ridiculous nit picking over zealous baby sitting service adds point against the driving even if you go over a pot hole in the road utter crap and I would not suggest anyone has this put in there vehicles
They literally will not leave us alone
I have repeatedly told these cold outbound reps to stop contacting my company. The pricing doesn't justify the use cases we'd have for it so Bouncie is better for us. I asked multiple reps to stop contacting me and they still did automated follow up and blatantly ignored my messages. I had to get nasty with this most recent one. There is a difference between cold outreach and pestering and this comapny is way over the line. CRO and PR should have a conversation. So bad for brand equity
At the beginning of November, our insurance claims were at an all-time high across the fleet. Since installing Samsara across all vehicles, we’ve already seen a dramatic decrease.
The in-cab alerts warn drivers immediately about unsafe driving behaviour, and the coaching app allows drivers to improve in real time. Samsara offers a complete package that many other dash-cam providers simply don’t.
You can also run detailed reports on driver safety scores and fuel economy, which helps identify potential unsafe driving behaviours, uneconomical driving, and fuel wastage.
The platform itself is easy to use, and the Samsara AI Assistant is genuinely helpful when you need guidance. The support has been second to none — they even provide one-to-one coaching via Teams to help you get the best from your fleet and the Samsara platform (thank you, Arthur!).
I would recommend Samsara to anyone looking for a dash-cam safety system that delivers results and comes with outstanding support.

Our business contacted Samsara to work with us on our fleet for GPS and Forward facing camera. When we wanted a shorter term rather than signing up for 3 years they said they didn't offer that service - the Customer support person Nidhin Eldhose wrote a condescending email to us saying
"Thanks for sharing your decision. Best of luck finding a provider that offers long-term reliability without requiring a long-term commitment."
This completely turned us off from doing business with these people - HIGHLY unprofessional and ignorant - If this is how the front end sales communicates I can only imagine what they would be like when we needed customer support.
Waste of time. Sales reps hang up on you or they don't even bother answering calls. The sales rep seemed confused when he answered the phone. Then the first question the sales rep asked me was, "how many products do you want to buy?" Before I could finish my response he hung up. No one can answer simple questions about their products or how to have them installed. Seemingly impossible to buy from them. Is this even a real company?
Absolute garbage will cost the driver and company using it in fines and points due to it’s inability to work properly in poor cell service I will be off duty with breaks set and it switches me to driving and they say it’s working properly. They won’t take responsibility for hiring poor programmers and won’t listen when you suggest a proven solution to solve the issues with their system

Placed review and received a reply from Samsara from what u can only assume is an AI program seeing as every review I’ve read is answered by Kelly asking for more information which I gave them was told someone would contact me to work on resolving the issues I’m having but still 16 days later still haven’t heard from them anymore still having the same issues with their system all they care about is getting paid and not fixing their poor understanding of how the hours of service or the trucking industry works in real life
