I just sold my property in Monaghan…

I just sold my property in Monaghan through Savills, through a difficult time, and the person I was dealing with in Savills was Cianan Duff, he couldn’t have been more helpful with solid advice, I would highly recommend!!

The experience I recently had with…

The experience I recently had with Savills was second to none.
Cianan Duff came on board following my property being on the market (with another agent) for months with just one viewer. Savills photographer and videographer were out within days and after a week of having it on Savills books we had many viewings and it went Sale agreed shortly afterwards.
The experience of selling a house can be an exhausting and emotional one but, thanks to the expertise and professionalism of Mr Duff, it was made a lot easier.
I would highly recommend Savills to any potential seller.

Absolutely disgraceful experience

Dealing with Savills in Dublin was the worst experience I've ever had with a rental agency. From start to finish, we were misled and treated poorly. We were told one thing, only for them to do the exact opposite. Not only did they fail to notify us when our application was rejected, but throughout the entire process, we were made to feel belittled in every conversation.

I understand that they may not be required to provide feedback, but the way they operate is absolutely appalling. We were told by Hannah O'Brien that she would get back to us the next day about the property we applied for. When I tried contacting her the following day, she ignored my messages. When I called the office at 2 PM, I was told she was in a meeting. Instead of getting back to us, they informed the current tenant that our application was declined, leaving us completely in the dark. If it wasn't for the tenant reaching out to me, we would have never known.

I understand that in our case, everything was very last-minute, as we submitted documents on Thursday and asked for an update by the end of the week since the current tenant was moving out the following Monday. However, that does not explain or justify the poor treatment we received. While I appreciate that it was a hectic situation and that Hannah O'Brien submitted the documents to the landlord, the gaslighting and lies should never have occurred. I would have much preferred to be told the facts, such as the estimated process time, the day of the meeting with the landlord, or any indication of when we could expect a decision. If we had been given any information, we wouldn’t have felt the need to chase so many times. But since we weren’t told anything, we just wanted a simple update.

When I called for further explanation, I was informed that Hannah was on annual leave—information they had failed to mention before. It felt like an easy excuse for their lack of communication. I was then forwarded to Noreen Flynn, Senior Property Manager, who was incredibly rude. She constantly interrupted me, dismissed the fact that Hannah O'Brien had lied to me, and scolded me for messaging the agent on WhatsApp—the only method that got me a response in the first place! She continuously cut me off and abruptly ended the conversation, making it clear that they had no intention of providing any clarity or support. I was completely shocked that someone with this title could treat clients so poorly.

In my eight years of renting apartments across Europe, I have never been treated so badly. It was humiliating to speak with someone who wouldn't listen and gaslighted me throughout the conversation. I don't understand how a company as large as Savills can employ agents with such a lack of personal and communication skills. Despite the fact that the previous tenant recommended us, which should have made the process easier for them, we were treated as if we were insignificant.

I will not recommend this agency to anyone, and I will definitely not be using their services in the future. This experience was utterly disgraceful.

Horrific tenant experience

I had a horrific experience with Savills as tenant. We have 2 small children and our family felt insecure because of the way Savills treated us, we eventually felt compelled to buy a house and move out. Even then, they continued to accuse us and make us uncomfortable all the way, after 9 months.

I was a tenant in Cualanor, Dun Laoghaire, and everything was fine until Savills took over the rents from the previous management company. Ever since then I haven’t received any communication from Savills about this change, not even a single word. My first payment with Savills went to the previous company. Savills insisted it’s my issue and they wouldn’t engage with the other party in any way to sort this out, even though they had a business arrangement. I also received an eviction notice by post. That was the first communication I received from Savills. It was clear to me that they had all our contacts, reaching out was not an issue, but unfortunately they are not in the business of being fair, honest and transparent. They kept chasing and accusing us for a few months and I lost so much time and energy on this. Basically I did their job with this investigation, putting the two parties in contact and conveying the information from one side to the other. It finally cooled off and then, when moving out, 9 months after the incident, they went back to the accusations from 9 months ago, the missing payment. Even worse, on that final act, I had to deal with two different persons and provide all the evidence again and again, to each of the 2 Savills staff, otherwise I had to say goodbye to my deposit. They don’t even talk to each other inside Savills!

There was no point in time where they actually admitted their internal management is a mess, no responsibility for anything. Every time I engaged with them they tried to twist the facts and make it look like it’s our fault. Whenever I provided facts and written proof of everything they either didn’t reply to my emails or said they are “investigating”. But the one thing they never did, is to acknowledge the situation is resolved and marked as such in the system.

Finally, I got my deposit back after nearly 1 month since I handed over the keys. During that time I had no communication from them, as usual.
