We purchased an Unlimited and Uncapped mobile data SIM on the Three network. This SIM was advertised as "designed for business". "Unlimited", "Uncapped" and "designed for business" all appearing on the packaging, including Scancom specific packaging.
[Note: Three are not the only company committing this fraud, I believe they all do it.]
We use these SIMs on site and while mobile to access business systems, download datasheets and software. We also back up our laptops and access cloud based storage as encouraged by the technology suppliers.
The business doesn't operate without internet access and almost ALL services providers have switched to cloud based services. (see my review on Microsoft who are reducing on premises based services meaning even within your head quarters you will rely on an internet connection).
We often require software installation packages and updates with many hundreds of Gb. Let alone documentation and online application use. So an actually Unlimited and Uncapped service is essential.
These SIMs are neither uncapped, or unlimited and are in fact capped at 1000Gb. Three will tell you that this is due to the "fair use" policy, but that is totally dishonest. When something is advertised as "Unlimited", fair use would be unlimited.
This means that the business is unable to operate until the SIM resets.
Note: If the SIM stops mid download or upload, then the data has to be retransferred, meaning that you have to pay twice for doing the same thing.
This may be "legal", we are seeking advice about this, but it is certainly unethical!
I have bought over 8 sim cards from Scancom over the years.
These guys know what they are doing. Their deals are solid, their back end management system is on point, and their support are solid.
My home and office are run by sim cards from Scancom, often averaging 350-500megs on down and up to 125 on the up. I'm chuffed.

The SIM you purchased is a Three‑network data SIM, and while the description mentions connecting to the “strongest available signal,” this means it will connect to the strongest Three signal, not to other networks such as Vodafone, EE, or O2.
It will always remain on the Three network because it is locked to that carrier’s infrastructure. It does not switch between networks the way a multi‑network roaming SIM would.
Lebara uses the Vodafone network, which explains why your Lebara SIM shows full 5G in your location — Vodafone’s mast in your area is stronger than Three’s.
Your devices being 5G‑capable is not the issue; this is simply a difference in network coverage, not the handset or SIM card itself.
above is the reply I've got on email complaining that the sim card is not as advertised:
Three 500GB per month Preloaded Data SIM - Access to Three & Vodafone* - Connects to the Strongest Signal available.
Be aware no matter if you have a 5G Vodafone antenna next to you it won't automatically by default connect to it.

The connection has been consistently stable thus far.
We anticipate making future purchases.

Purchased 4 x 1000gb 3 network sim cards, they have now stopped working, had them just over a month. Should refresh for 18 months.
£360 down the pan.
Bought a new £300 router thinking mine was the problem, obviously it isn't.
Not a happy chap, no TV, no CCTV and no Hive.

All was well until delivery. The driver claimed to have called at the agreed time, while I was in the house and failed to deliver.
After sending messages etc, the item arrived following day on time.
