5080 and paid for express…

Ordered a new 5080 and paid for express delivery. System had my old address so 2 minutes after placing the order i sent a message in the order system to change the address. Verified the address change over the phone the following day and the next day i get a delivery confirmation, only they sent it to the wrong address. I have spend the last 48 hours speaking to 3 different customer service people (when i could get through after multiple hang-ups) and now they tell me someone signed for it at the wrong address, and apparently it was me. Yet again on hold with their "customer service" as i just want to cancel the order, they are impossible to get in the market but with these guys it is literally impossible.

Scorptec’s Express Delivery Is A Scam

Bought an AMD Ryzen 7 alongside a cooler on March 1, Saturday. both were labeled on stock. I need it urgently so i paid for the $40 Express Delivery.

No updates/changes on the order status by Monday so i messaged them asking for an update.

Tuesday March 4, they finally processed my order and replied to me saying that my order will be delivered within 1-2 business day. I got a tracking number with AusPost but not shipped/expected date of arrival yet. But im fine with it as long as i get it within this week

Wednesday i got a notification from auspost that my parcel will arrive on March 11, Monday next week! Thats the same as going for their much cheaper standard delivery!

I felt cheated and disappointed by this experience with Scorptec, i would never buy from them again

I'm surprised to read all these…

I'm surprised to read all these negative reviews. I bought a lot of stuff from them and ultimately the new CPU had a complex fault (not immediately apparent). They replaced quickly without fuss and in general every interaction has been prompt and friendly, plus their prices and selection were excellent.

Terrible, terrible support

Item failed only a few months out of warranty, refused replacement or refund, hence violating Australia Consumer Law. Support are painfully slow and robotic, took an unreasonable amount of time to be told 'not my problem' after having done months of trouble shooting with the manufacturer. No-one willing to take responsibility.
Complete waste of time and money, never again.

Bought a pc on the 14th of Febuary promised it would arrive on the 25th I tried calling to make sure it had arrived after zero contact no one answers phones, I tried sending an email I was promised it would be there the next day lo and behold it was not it is now Saturday the 1st of march I go into the store I purchased from what a coincidence it had just arrived! Get home boot it up aaaaand it is a dud will not even get past the bios screen. Never EVER buy from this company ever worst customer experience I have ever had. And I fully expect I won't get a refund because of course their t&c are predatory as hell. Do your self a favour and stay the hell away from them they will screw you over at every opportunity.

Extremely Disappointing Service and Lack of Transparency

I recently had a very frustrating experience with Scorptec. After sending my PC in for a diagnostic check, they assured me that they had done a full diagnostic on the system. However, after waiting for three weeks for a replacement motherboard, I was told that my CPU was also damaged — something they claimed they had discovered only now. This was incredibly frustrating as they had assured me the initial diagnostic was thorough, which clearly wasn’t the case.

Not only did it take much longer than expected, but the fact that they lied about performing a full diagnostic is concerning. It’s very disappointing when a company fails to deliver on its promises and is not transparent about the issues with the system. I expected better customer service, especially after being told that they had checked everything thoroughly. I’m extremely dissatisfied and would not recommend their services based on my experience.

God awful service

God awful service, please avoid them. I wish I had purchased somewhere else.
Australia post shipping is bad enough but when it's sitting in their warehouse for a week it becomes a absolute joke.

Great product quality, no issues

Great product quality, haven't ran into any faulty parts and/or products through 3 years of being a customer. My only nitpick would be lightly drawn out shipping times even with express, my latest order took 10 days to ship. Other than that, great quality and haven't had to go through the return/warranty process yet!

Sold a system they didn't have

Ordered a gaming system and paid in full. Money went out of account, order sat pending for 5 days, sent two messages, to which no one responded. Finally got someone on the phone after 4 attempts only to be told that the system was not available (though website said it was in stock, they then said that they would send from the warehouse only to be told that it needed to be built and would be another 2-3 weeks. During this time, there was no contact from from to indicate an issue. Have cancelled the order (and waiting for the money to hit the account) do not deal with them-useless

Beyond angry with their faulty products and poor customer service

Beyond angry with their poor customer support and their bad products.

Spent over $3300 on a Gaming system for it to have numerous faults not even 5 months after purchase. First the SSD failed, causing me to lose a lot of data. I'm pretty sure the Motherboard also has some faults due to improper loading of drivers and on top of all that the 4 month old GPU has developed coil whine. Customer support was less than helpful, I tried calling the number for warranty support numerous times throughout the day during their opening hours just to be hung up on by a bot after it tells me there's nobody available to take my call. Had to call a different Scorptec store than the one listed as their main support just for them to tell me that I'd need to package the PC myself (something that cost money and has big risks attached) and wait for a courier to pick it up to deliver it to their stores, I was given an estimate of 2-4 weeks for the whole process, not a good option since I need it for work as well as entertainment. I asked if I can have a local repair business look at it and handle the warranty side of things but apparently that's not an option and going that route would be out of pocket. Unless you live near one of their stores, looks like you're screwed, it's either pay out of pocket to have it fixed or wait up to a month for them to sort it out.

Also ordered a monitor from them with inbuilt speakers, only to not have said speakers work. Such a waste of my money and time. I recommend staying away from Scorptec, save yourself the time, money and energy.

I cannot recommend Scorptec, very poor management and service

I cannot recommend Scorptec. A mate recommended them so I trusted my money on a 5090 pre-order with them. Full paid and in the que. However a few days later when checking my emails there was notification that the order was being cancelled. I called and explained that I did not want my order cancelled as I would only have to buy the card elsewhere anyway so wait times were of no concern. I had placed an order, missed the opportunity to order elsewhere as they had taken a 100% payment on what was effectively not even a preorder list and screwed over their customers. Had I known how they would behave and the lack of respect for customers and their money I would of ordered elsewhere.

Talking with the rep on the phone they were not considerate at all. I really recommend not buying from Scorptec. If they behave like this I can only imagine the nightmare in front of customers if there are any service or warranty issues. Absolute joke and one of the most disappointing online shopping experiences I can ever recall.

Customers have been misled, treated poorly and most likely all so orders can be cancelled and marked up. This is evident when they say " we don't know how many units will arrive for allocation" but then cancel orders prior to the warehouse delivery ETA. I don't trust any of the company lines for damage control on this poor decision and poor management. Really disappointing experience and I feel misled. This has caused additional frustration, stress and disappointment due to how this has been handled and irreversible damage to trust.

Note* I have been told that the prices are going up when I rang to give feedback yesterday and that everyone's details have been collected that had ordered cancelled so they can go onto an internal priority list to be called when stock comes in. I don't know why our order could not of remained in the system until at least the ETA date passed. This would of seemed less like misleading and taking advantage of the customer. And makes it difficult to believe any excuses now. The phone repo I spoke to this time at least had some information and listened and collected feedback to pass on.

Just like other people

Just like other people. I was successful for the pre-order of the MSI 5090 at RRP of $4039.00. Received confirmation email, that it will be available early March. I had heard that MSI were delaying their 1st batch, so this seemed logical.

this was on the 31st of January, 2025.

This used up majority of my saving, so I had no other funds and was happy that we'll have the new card.

Then, in the afternoon of the 3rd of Feb., receive an email that it was cancelled!

I tried calling on their general number, it just kept hanging up after waiting for 5 minutes *3 total 15 minutes plus, since there were options in the menu.

Then called the store direct, and was told that they are REFUNDING it, even though I was WILLING TO WAIT MORE TIME, as previous experience has shown, that the prices go way above RRP after launch!

They offered to put me on a "waiting" list with others, for when extra stock will be available once that comes in, after they give out their "pre-orders" allocation.

I asked to have it at RRP, but to no avail. even if it was another brand, like Palit, that was about $100 more.

Contacting another store, in Melbourne, they advised that of what they are aware, prices will hit the $5000+ mark for the base models of the 5090's!!!

Should be able to bring a case up, like others have said with the ACCC since the price difference will be massive, and could have tried other stores at the time too.

Slow, unreliable, dishonest

I ordered an RTX 5090 on launch day and never received it. After 5 days, I was notified an automated email that my order couldn't be fulfilled, despite being ordered within the first 30s. Customer service was unresponsive for 3 days after this before I received an automated refund.(still no reply) To add insult to injury, my prices have increased since then.

I also placed recent order a recent order, with a promised 2-3 day shipping, still hasn't arrived after 2 weeks.

Frankly, Scorptec's service and pricing have significantly deteriorated. I will no longer be doing business with them, and recommend you do not either. MSY has been a much better overall experience in every aspect.

Scorptec - THE NEW SCALPERS

Some extremely shady stuff as of late regarding the 50 Series launch:

Sneakily launched pre-orders for 50 series cards 15mintues earlier than the embargo and all other websites, which caught a lot of people out. (Insider Trading 101)

Luckily, I was able to order a MSRP model within 5 minutes of site launch (well before the embargo) and fully paid for it which had a ETA of late March - a few months away.

I messaged asking about ETA’s and staff assured me that it will take a few months (as advertised) and would be processed in a queue order of sale, which is perfectly fine.

However, after about a week, my order was canceled without my permission, despite my protests and willingness to wait regardless of the time it took.

So now I have lost my pre-order.

I have lost my line in any queue.

My order was canceled months before the advertised ETA of late March, not honoring the chance for me to wait.

Therefore, the launch price of the MSRP cards are not being honored as they were a “LAUNCH SPECIAL” so they can charge me more later. No compensation offered.

I have lost the opportunity to place an order on other websites, and now have to compete with scalper bots for many more months ahead.

Other competitors have honored their original launch customers.

In EVERY WAY I have been DISADVANTAGED by participating in Scoptec’s 50 Series launch and shopping with them.

Scorptec’s handling of the situation on mass reveals their ethics regarding their business practice.

I recommend other people who have been affected to contact ACCC as there may be a breached involved, by taking full payments for a product with an appropriate ETA, then canceling them without consent and inflating the price in the future due to the higher demand, and/or excluding from any launch/preorder special pricing.

How i lost trust in Scorptec

Let me tell you a story of my purchase of 5080 from Scorptec.

First of all, I just want to note, that I think this is my first negative public review ever, I'm really willing to put up with a lot, but Scorptec messed up in so many places, that it's just unbelievable.

5080 was officially releasing at 1:00am AEST time on 31.01.
Not at Scorptec, they decided to release the stock at 00:48am, 12minutes before they should, why? Probably to try to grab as many buyers as possible that were checking multiple stores by releasing it earlier that everyone else. Or just let friends and family let order the stock before regular customers.

I was "lucky one" because i refreshed the page at 00:51 just to make sure that the cards are not up yet, but they were so I quickly order a 5080, got an invoice saying that it was in stock, they took my money and everything was great! Since I "secured" my card, I obviously didn't check other retailers for 5080s because I already got one, right? Big mistake, but I'll get to that later.

Morning 31.01 I started hearing rumours that some stores might be cancelling orders for 50 series cards because they oversold. Since I was planning to buy entire system at Scorptec, I decided to send them email on 31 Jan 2025 at 11:42am asking if I secured the card because I'd like to be sure that I'll get it before buying the rest of the system. No reply at all. Then I've sent message at 03 Feb 2025 at 9:57am asking if I can get any update. Still no response! I've waited another 24h and on 04 Feb 2025 at 11:43am I've sent 3rd message, no response again. In meantime Scorptec publish a Facebook post saying that they might be cancelling some orders and they will need 48h top do that, which would mean 05.02. They literally stated that they need 6 days to even tell you if you got the card or not. Few hours after my last message I just called them and in literally 2minutes they were able to tell me that I won't get the card and cancelled my order.

Imagine ordering the card 9 minutes before the release date and still getting your order cancelled. That's just outrageous. I trusted Scorptec and now I'm left with no graphic card. And the worst part is, that i wasted FIVE days waiting for their decision on if I'll get the card. In meantime all 5080 got sold out in all other stores and even 4080s became very hard to get, since the shortage of 5080 made people buy out all 4080 on the market.

No I'm left with no 5080 and I can't even get 4080s.

summing up
Strike 1: Releasing the cards 12min before announced release time BY SCORPTEC.
Strike 2: Cancelling an order after getting a confirmation on the invoice that the item was in fact in stock
Strike 3: Ignoring 3 messages they got from me over FIVE DAYS.
Strike 4: Taking so long to make the decision to cancel the order(which would take even longer if I didn't call them) that I'm left without not only 5080 but also 4080s.

Good business. Helpful and great prices.

Just leaving a positive review because the majority of reviews seem to be quite negative.

I have bought 4 computers over the last few years from Scorptec. 2 Pre-Built budget gaming PCs and 2 Custom build computers for my business. All represented good value and perfect build quality.

Never had an issues with them as a business. The staff have always been courteous and helpful.
