I recently attended this practice for a tooth extraction and unfortunately found the experience extremely distressing. I feel it is important to share my feedback.
From the outset, I felt my pain and concerns were not properly acknowledged. I presented with a severe rash around my mouth, which made it painful even to open my mouth, yet little regard seemed to be taken for this. Even before the extraction began, the x-ray was traumatic — the plate cut into my mouth and the area under my tongue. Despite me saying it was hurting, I was repeatedly told to “bite down harder” rather than being offered an alternative or adjustment.
During the procedure itself, I was advised to raise my hand if I felt pain. I did so, and while I was given a little more anaesthetic, I continued to feel intense pain. When I tried to explain this, I was told it was “just pressure.” However, it was not pressure — it was overwhelming pain, and I left the surgery in tears.
I had also asked beforehand if the procedure would hurt, and was reassured that aside from the anaesthetic injection (which was described as just a sharp scratch), I would feel nothing further. This was absolutely not the case.
In addition, I was unaware of the list of “don’ts” following an extraction — such as not vaping for 2–3 days or not brushing my teeth for 48 hours. Had I known these restrictions in advance, I would have scheduled the procedure differently so I could prepare properly.
Throughout the appointment, I often felt dismissed and not listened to. On some occasions, the dentist even spoke to me with his back turned. The only person who showed real care and consideration for my pain and distress was the dental nurse/assistant, to whom I am very grateful.
To have paid £195 for such a traumatic and dismissive experience was particularly galling, even though I fully understood the costs beforehand. I appreciate that extractions are never pleasant, but the way this was handled left me traumatised, unheard, and in unnecessary pain. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as it is intended, to improve patient care and communication in the future.

Was sent here from my private dentist due to annual leave, was very nervous as I had only ever been to the same dentist since a child. However they were fabulous! I had an evening appointment which was made the same day, I checked myself in on an iPad which took a few minutes, then a few minutes later I was being called through. Explained my issue to the dentist, he had a look, gave me antibiotics there and then, and I was back out the door within minutes! Can not fault the service, the dentist was lovely and approachable! Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful dental practice so far. All my experiences have been good. You are treated with dignity and they listen to you. They also got to the bottom of my painful tooth problem without having to pull my teeth out. This is not my usual surgery, but I shall be using this practice as my regular dentist in future.
Thanks

First of all I’m basing this review off someone who is absolutely terrified of the dentist. I needed a tooth extraction under IV sedation and was recommended this dental surgery by another dentist. From speaking to the reception staff to having my tooth out was a very professional standard. I arrived at the dentist and was very scared and a bit tearful. The lively reception staff made sure I was okay and calmed me down. I was booked in with Samson and I’m so happy I did. The procedure was very quick and painless and I felt relaxed with Samson doing the procedure. The aftercare part was very good. He gave all the information to my husband who had to care for me for 24hrs as I was sedated. Very thankful to this wonderful dental surgeon and their staff. You made a very scary time a lot more manageable.

My second visit in the year for check up and advice.
Again seen by Shyam patel and Jag and again just a pure no drama friendly helpful visit that's kind on the pocket and the mental wellbeing of patients.
We travel from Tamworth because this is a service is worth it.
I was greeted on reception by Kaitlen and settled the bill with Emily and their attitude and patient satisfaction a priority.
So thank you all

I appreciate being seen due to being in excruciating pain on a weekend and not having a NHS dentist. The treatment I received seemed to solve the initial problem I had with the broken teeth. It maybe a temporary solution though, and I was advised of this, so I may need further treatment in the future. I am grateful of being contacted about my treatment by the practice, and thank you for this.

I was nervous for my treatment as it was an extraction of a wisdom tooth and I’ve never had an extraction before & I was in a lot of pain . I arrived about 10 minutes before my appointment, filled in the required forms and was called in very quickly, checked over, x-rayed, given my options which I chose to have the tooth removed & then the extraction itself were all done within 1hr. My appointment was for 8.10pm I was at home for 9pm. My dentist was Dr Shyam Patel & Demi and Liv assisted, everyone made me feel so at ease and relaxed, I was talked through my whole procedure, asked multiple times if I was ok, reassured if I needed a break that was absolutely fine, but I was put that much at ease it was all done in one go. Numbing injections were gentle and it was all round a lovely experience for a visit to the dentist. It has made me more open to having other wisdom teeth removed if needed rather then trying to live with the pain due to scaremongering from other dentists. The cost for the whole procedure was about £250 and I’d pay it time and time again for the service you receive. I don’t think I’ll go anywhere else for treatment now!
