Underwhelmed

I'd decided to give myself a treat after growing my hair a bit in lockdown. Completely Underwhelmed is the short version of my experience at Scruffs. Despite my providing a photo (which remained on display for the hairdresser to refer to) of the style I was looking for, I still had to talk through what I was looking for during the haircut. I was also utterly perplexed that they were unable to provide protection to my collar to minimise the amount of hair getting down my neck and into my clothes. For a top shelf top rated establishment, this is unacceptable - an amateur would have made the effort. I spent the best part of an hour picking out the hair from my shirt and undershirt. I have been to mens hairdressers that cost a quarter of the price and they have some standard kit which they use that keeps virtually all of the hair out. On the positive side the staff and hairdresser were very pleasant, polite and made for a generally relaxing experience, and secondly the haircut itself was acceptable (but only acceptable as in they didn't make a hash of it). Beyond that I cannot justify a 3 - because its out of 5, so a 3 would mean that I'm ok overall, but I am not.
I'm not bothered though, I'm just not going back. I get the feeling that from a business point of view they're at that stage where they're relying on their reputation and have lost the drive and attention to detail that got them that reputation in the first place.
