Nice hotel but we wouldn’t come back

We travelled with Jet2holidays and stayed at Kiani Beach Hotel in Crete. The holiday was okay overall, but there were quite a few things that made the experience less enjoyable.

Flights: On our way to Greece, the flight attendants were unfortunately a bit rude, which wasn’t the best start to the holiday.

Hotel & Food: The hotel itself is nice, but the food was disappointing. There aren’t many options, and a lot of dishes felt like leftovers with sauces added. Kids’ choices are very limited and mostly just fast food.

All Inclusive vs. All Inclusive Plus: This was the most frustrating part. If you don’t have the All Inclusive Plus (the gold bracelet), you are treated very differently. You even have to pay for basics like coffee or water, and staff make you feel like a second-class guest. For example, one morning at 10AM I asked for a coffee at the bar, knowing I would need to pay for it. I was told I couldn’t buy one until 11AM because I wasn’t a gold member, and instead directed to the free all-inclusive machine coffee — which was honestly terrible. The attitude of the bar staff was also unpleasant.

Noise: Another big downside was the noise. Deliveries started around 5AM with a loud van at the mini market, and by 7AM staff were cutting grass and moving things around outside. It was extremely noisy, and hard for both adults and children to rest in the mornings.

Entertainment: The highlight of the hotel was definitely the entertainment team. They did a fantastic job keeping kids busy and happy throughout the day, and were always friendly and engaging.

Overall, while there were some nice aspects, especially the entertainment team, I wouldn’t choose to return to this hotel.

Great holidays at Kiani Beach Resort

Our recent stay was made extra special thanks to the incredible care and presence of the hotel management team – particularly Modesta and Jelena. From the moment we arrived, their approach stood out as genuinely guest-focused and refreshingly hands-on. Modesta kindly invited us to a management-hosted drinks and snacks event, where she spent over 30 minutes listening attentively to our suggestions for future improvements. Modesta not only listened thoughtfully but also remarked that several of the ideas were excellent and would be genuinely considered. That level of openness and attention is rare and deeply appreciated. Jelena and Modesta also organised a beautiful à la carte dinner for us, another example of how involved and committed the management team is. This is the only hotel we’ve experienced where the management isn’t distant from guests—they are consistently visible, engaging, and genuinely interested in how everything is going. You truly feel heard and valued here. It’s a completely different and much more personal style of hospitality management. A heartfelt thank you to the team—you’re doing a fantastic job.
