Incompetent Immoral Imbeciles.

Incompetent Immoral Imbeciles.
Be aware sequence are a connells company involved directly in the comments below.
The advice is never to use this company for either managing properties or as an estate agent, they are complete Incompetent, Immoral Imbeciles.
As a landlord they have cost me thousands.
They lost the tenancy agreement, the check in inventory and the keys.
Due diligence, care and professionalism are not in the dictionary at connells.
Without your sanction they will sub-contract works they deem necessary to another connells company, who sub- contract to another connells company, who sub contract to a local supplier. You are then advised by a company you have never heard of that you have been charged for the privilege!
People correspond with you from a different company name then claim to work for connells.
Connells have now repaid for the works charged plus legal costs, but only after they gave me the run around and protracted correspondence between different ‘companies’ ending in small claims court.
The only ‘Excellence’ they have is in incompetency, is this what they claim when providing training to employees?
Both the tenant and myself had been lied to by the local branch with the return of the keys resulting in days of delay and additional cost, I am well rid of this company.
Their performance is so bad I have also stopped looking at any properties they market, I would not buy through them if they were the last agent on the planet.
If this is the ‘best possible service’ they all need to retire.
Perhaps they should provide the public with balanced view of the company and include this as ‘Real testimonials from our un-happy customers’.
You have been warned!

Do not use Sequence

Maintenance issue reported 17/08, still outstanding despite many calls into Sequence (note that I make the calls to them).
They don’t call back, they don’t update and they don’t care.
I’m stuck with them because my landlord uses them, I have been stuck with them since 2011, they have never been any different, the names and the voices have changed over the years but they have always managed to maintain that ‘don’t care’ culture. I guess that’s continuity of service....
0/10 I resent the 1 star I have to give them.

Thank you to all for the clear warning about sequence

I was just about Tow send a deposit to sequence, but I had a warning from my bank,
So I looked up Sequence and read the reviews, I am so glad I did,
The five stars is to all the good people who wrote in reviews and gave me a good warning, and saved me over a thousand pounds out of my pension, I have probably lost my temporary flat now as well, which I was going to move into after a car crashed into my Bungalow. Making me homeless

Service was absolutely appalling do not use

Service was absolutely appalling from sale of house - from not turning up to show a potential buyer around the house (I showed them myself), changed case handlers 4 times.
Lack of communication from Blacks direct solicitors.
Charged for app I never used was set up initially, then 4months later sent a link from estate agent then nothing kept up to date on app until completion so was absolutely useless and waste of time.
Would not recommend or use Fox and sons again plus their recommendation of Blacks Direct conveyancers.

As a landlord I can say that this is…

As a landlord I can say that this is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Their staff are unprofessional and lacking in any type of customer care. Rent is never paid correctly and the number of mistakes are so great that I've lost count. Once my tenant leaves, I will dispense with this company immediately. Avoid them!

Why do you need to hold our money so long?

Here's our story. Asked us to wait for 3 - 5 working days to get our deposit back. On 5th day, we did not get it because someone wrote incorrect figure to release. But we were not been informed. We had to call. No one call us back either. We had to go through complaints department to get our money back. Still had to wait for 3-5 working days again.
They have full rights to demand money from tenants but tenants have no right to get their money back in a reasonable time.

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Honestly the worst service I have ever received. Would lie to us and the landlord about what each other had said and would claim to have contacted the landlord but would never do so. Have messed us around with returning our deposit at the end of our tenancy - will happily take your money but are very reluctant to return it.
No communication between the staff because they would CONSTANTLY contradict each other.
We would also have them change our point of contact for our property and not tell us on the regular - leaving emails to just go unread and unresolved.
Tenants and Landlords alike avoid at ALL COSTS

Really pleased and would definitely use again

I just wanted to leave a review to thank the team at Roger Platts Maidenhead, especially to Nicholas and to Philippa who were beyond patient. I purchased a BTL and they were so helpful, friendly and held my hand along the way. I am looking to purchase more flats through them and would definitely recommend as a company. They responded quickly too. Thanks again, Vanessa

I would give Zero stars if I could

I would give Zero stars if I could. If there was an award for abysmal customer service this company would win hands down. As landlords we have faced unbelievable hassle trying to get tenant's deposits returned and trying to get simple maintenance jobs arranged. Honestly, you get less grief all round managing everything yourself. At least that way you don't have sequence screwing things up

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

If I could give less than 1 star, believe me I would. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE! They are rude, unhelpful & lack the basic training & common sense to do anything correctly.

I have finally managed to terminate my agreement with them but they are still not releasing my tenant's deposit - I requested this be released over a month ago. This is not an isolated incident, the same issue happened with our last tenant & it caused problems for him moving on elsewhere.

Sequence also contacted my FATHER thinking he was the electrician THEY appointed, asking him to go to the property & inspect the fault. My father is NOT an electrician. Even after I demanded that my father's details be removed from the file, they could not follow a simple request & continued to contact him under the same capacity.

All Sequence do is shift blame, they never take accountability for their actions or offer a helpful solution. They will rob you blind & make everything about your tenancy more difficult. I cannot stress this enough, do not use this company!

Update 01.10.2021:
Sequence finally released the deposit back to the tenant but this was ONLY AFTER my tenant threatened them with legal action. I am yet to receive a satisfactory response to my complaint.

Really poor just avoid

Feeling very stupid for letting the estate agent we are buying through talk us into appointing this firm - we paid over £350 to them via the estate agent and quickly realised how poor the communication was after our estate agent alerted us - so we cancelled the agreement but are now told we cannot claim the money back due to some gobbledygook rules about ‘on premises’ transactions that was never explained to us at the time and is frankly impossible for a layman to understand. Also disappointed with the estate agent William H Brown for involving us in the first place with their patter about it being better to use the same conveyancer as the seller who it turns out was not doing so! And of course we should always check Trust Pilot first.

I own multiple of properties in the Plymouth area. My overall experience with the company was positive. They have an excellent team who are always there when support required. Whenever the I have had to renew the property they reach out in advance to make sure plenty of time was given to organise the renewal. Also, I recently had a lot of issues with one of my Tenants and they were very quick to resolve these problems.

I am living every day in fear of losing my buyer because you are taking so long you actually know this fact yet as a company you just don’t care if I lose my buyer due to the fact that you are slow in getting things sorted I will be looking into who to make a formal complaint about the company as this is an absolute joke

Absolutely shocking service

Absolutely shocking service. I rarely take time to write a review but on this occasion I had to. We were passed on to Sequence via William.H.Brown and unfortunately didn't read any reviews (wish we had).

As BTL investors we wanted to purchase 5 properties over 18 month. We were appointed a mortgage advisor and had all funds etc in place. To say this advisor made a total mess of things is putting it lightly.

We had to CONSTANTLY chase them up, resubmit documents, repeat information numerous times. The advisor submitted us for mortgages knowing we didn't even meet the lenders criteria!!! (We could have done that damage for free)

We lost two properties in a row, the sellers pulled out due to it taking so long and the final straw was finding out the mortgage advisor has submitted the same property TWICE!!! triggering the request for another search.

We have lost 12 full months of investment time, the market has gone up and our credit rating has plummeted. We are looking at taking things further and want a full investigation into why things went so badly wrong.

I hate writing negative reviews but I wish I'd read these first, I could have saved a lot of money, time and stress.

Used them to buy my first flat

Used them to buy my first flat, they are the most expensive and completely useless solictor. I wish I had gone to someone local but I fell for the mortgage advisor’s tactics (who claimed he has no stake in recommendations..)
Avoid if you can, especially first time buyers. What should have cost me £1,500- quotes from others ended up costing me over £3,000… I’ll never make that mistake again and the fact William h brown associate with them, tells you all you need to know.

BE CAREFUL!!

Initially my experience with sequence was good. Last year I remortgaged and purchased an additional property using their services. It all went smoothly enough.

HOWEVER.... In February this year I recommended Sequence to a family member and was told they offer a £100 referral reward if the person used their services. My referral remortgaged with them but yet the reward was then never mentioned again. I have constantly questioned it for the past 5 months and keep getting told "Really sorry, we'll sort it". Surprise surprise... still nothing.

Personally I don't like liars and in my opinion this company are fraudulently asking people to recommend them and then never paying out the reward as stated.

AVOID! DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE!

Terrible experience for landlord and tenant

We made the terrible decision to rent our property through brown and Merry which is a subsidiary of Sequence homes. They have caused no end of issues, taking months to update a tenancy agreement requested by ourselves and the tenants. Months to change an agreed rent payment date. We have recently learned that they gave our details instead of the tenants to the energy supplier which has ended up with a letter being sent from a debt collection agency. The time I have wasted dealing with these imbeciles is ridiculous. I wish I had looked at trust pilot before using them!

Worthy of absolutely no stars at all

Worthy of absolutely no stars at all. I rent a property from Roger Platt and they use this company for property management- they are substandard and completely devoid of the most basic of communication skills. They do not respond to calls or emails and have a standard go to response of “ I can’t advise” when questioned. They fail on most levels of support to renters and landlords, not acting promptly for even the most urgent of situations. They literally couldn’t care less and in two years I have had multiple people “dealing” with my property. No one returns calls, messages or emails and you have to chase things multiple times. I really don’t understand why am estate agent like Roger Platt use them at all. I would never rent from them again for that very reason.
