Slow, disturbing and greedy

As a tenant they have made renting a living hell! Inexperienced staff, they make renting really expensive, choose the worst contractor and most expensive contractors. Then hold you to ransom when you move out! They are unsettling to live with. I even identified that a contractor had kept keys to the property inappropriately and not a lot was done. Landlords steer clear, tenants if you move and find these people in place, run!

Horrible Business

I would go a long way out of my way to never to do business with these people. They are your best friend until they get your money. Terrible people, and disgusting business ethics.

Avoid this company like the plaque.

Avoid this company like the plaque.
Trying to sell my property started off badly.
Had valuation then phoned to put on the market & have photos taken etc but when estate agent came out he took photos on his iPhone.
As the photos were allegedly no good got conned into have a premium listing for £118.oo which actually I haven't signed the contract for!
1st viewing the agent turned up 20 minutes late!
Had open day & low offers came in for a quick sale 1st.
Spoke to the manager who said viewings aren't in the contract as I said they've broken the contract.
I do not trust this company to sell my property at all.
I asked manager if he could cancel the contract so I wouldn't be tied to them for 20 weeks & his reply was "a contracts a contract".
Sequence goes under the name connells which i believe are property auctioneers.
Told manager to leave my property on the market then which he wasn't happy about but a contracts a contract.
Do not use these people.
My agents go under the name William H Brown. Absolutely useless

I’m not one to write reviews

I’m not one to write reviews, but this time I find it necessary to shout out loud to the whole country : STAY CLEAR OF SEQUENCE! I’m just an ordinary woman who has been reduced to a nervous wreck, having to deal with this inept company, who have damaged my property through negligence. Their contractors are cowboys and their staff are incapable of managing. They consistently lie to cover their tracks. All they are good at is collecting their agent fees. I’ve just had a second stage complaint review and still the company refuse to admit their shortcomings. They are completely inhumane. They should be desqualified from operating. The next step for me is the property ombudsman. I won’t give up, because I want justice. I’m stubborn that way.
Any one out there prepared to sign a petition? Let’s start the ball rolling. Sequence must go.

AWFUL

AWFUL
I’ve rented my property through sequence and in the 2 years I was with them they charged me for a plumber call out when they know my partner is a plumber.

Told me ‘good news your tenant wants to stay now’ well I never got told they were leaving! They handed in there notice 3 weeks prior.

When they FINALLY did a check on my property it was covered in mould I’m surprised the tenant wasn’t carried out in a box.

I gave my notice on sequence and they kicked up because I refused to give them 6 months notice but they agreed after I said I wouldn’t let there trained chimps find a new tenant to put in my flat. Then 3 weeks later I got an email ‘good news we have found you a new tenant. They move into the property in 2 weeks’! When I called they hadn’t processed my notice application.

When discussing that the previous tenant won’t be getting there full deposit back they said they would sort it but I had to call weekly for updates and pretty much chase it myself. 2 months later when I called asking for my money they said It would take 10 days for them to put the £300 deposit money back to my account, all I received was £36 as they had taken there fees out of this and kept £200 for maintenance, should need it in the future on the flat.

I had left sequence 2 months previous, had no property with them to managed! This company just keeps your money, takes fees from you and doesn’t follow through with there mission, don’t reply to emails and can barely string a sentence together when you talk to them. Avoid at all costs unless you like an argument and an empty wallet.

The most appalling customer service…

The most appalling customer service provided. Reported a maintenance issue a month ago, and still this has not been resolved. I have even contacted an engineer to come in and investigate the issue - this was at my own expense, and never expected any costs to be reimbursed - the engineer advised that the apliance would cost more to repair than replace with a new one, being over 10 years old. When finally managed to get through to the Property Management team, I have explained the situation and given them the option to advise the landlord or send their own engineer to resolve the issue. One month down the line and still the issues is unresolved, I have to call and chase up the Property Management team, as they are incapable of providing any updates, although they are well aware the situation is incurring me costs. It is still myself I have to chase updates, every week, and I am getting shouted at, by 3 different people in that team without any customer service skills, because I have had the audacity of asking them to do their job.
A message to the landlords using Sequence - you are wasting your time and monies on a service that it's only purpose is to create confusions and frustration!

Absolute shambles of an estate agent…

Absolute shambles of an estate agent and caused us so much stress when trying to sell our house, despite this being a sellers market. Our house sale very nearly fell through several months after we agreed a sale, specifically because of their incompetence and inability to liaise with any parties during this period.

They sell themselves on making your move stress free and charge more than the basic providers as they are supposed to do the heavy lifting for you – This simply was not the case and my partner and I found they caused more stress then had we done this ourselves (which by and large we did).

The list of calamities was endless; I’ve listed the main issues:
• After selling the house for the third time: after 4/5 months from acceptance of offer when the people we were buying from proposed a competition date, it became apparent that our buyers had not once been chased by Bagshaws. We know this because it transpires that the buyers still hadn’t sorted out a mortgage and we had never once been provided with an update by Bagshaws in the 4/5 months (the estate agent we were buying from – Hannells – chased us and gave us updates on a weekly basis by the way). After pointing this out to Steven or Dane they claimed they had been chasing but never had any of their calls returned – if this was true; why would they not find it suspicious/alarming that no calls were returned in 4/5 months and why would you not advise us?! Bagshaws were clearly lying on this one.
• Initial advert - we had to advise them to edit to include positive sales points.
• Not vetting viewers as promised before booking in viewings, despite promising to (i.e. not establishing agreement in principle).
• Not wanting to carry out viewings, despite this being part of the sales pitch. Felt as though I had to force them in to it when they eventually did (carried out most viewings myself).
• Never had a response when emailing through the app (for call-backs or queries) and never able to speak to anyone when we called and often had to keep calling as wasn’t getting call-back from messages left.
• Complaints from numerous potential buyers about how difficult it is to get through to anyone and never receiving call-backs.
• When we cancelled an evening viewing due to our son showing symptoms of Covid, Bagshaws did not contact them and they made a 45 minute round trip and I had the embarrassing conversation with them as to why we couldn’t let them view.
• Constantly having to chase Bagshaws for updates/feedback, they were NEVER proactive.
• When the accepted offer was made, it took at least 48 hours for us to be told there had been an offer and that was only after us chasing to ask for feedback form the viewings (this was several days after taking place).
• Delays in getting info as they insist on trying to sell their mortgage advisor to potential buyers and this takes priority over your sale.
• Lack of professional/industry knowledge. We found us and our sellers estate agent constantly having to give them advise/info).
• Sale board not erected for several weeks after current sale which meant we kept getting other estate agents contacting us thinking we were struggling to sell.
• Staff blatantly lie. For example they said they chased but couldn’t provide me with the number they chased. Eventually relying on me to give them the buyers advisors number
• After all of this I made a formal complaint to the office manager, Kate. Most of my points were ignored, including advising full payment will not be made on completion due to the shocking service received. This did not resolve anything so we did all of the future chasing ourselves and kept Bagshaws updated off our own back and at our own expense.
• Bagshaws made no effort to resolve the final amount with us and understand our stance and simply passed us straight to debt collectors for the full amount. There was zero responsibility taken for their failings and no sympathy/empathy for us.

These are not all of the problems we faced. If after reading this you still think using Bagshaws then that's on you.

Awful

Awful, my deposit has taken more than 30 days to return since our landlord and us agreed on the deductions. They are utterly useless, the branch in Eastbourne blaming the accounts department in Liverpool and not one iota of an apology.

I was told in writing 7 days ago that payment had been released and I would have it in 3-5 days. Nothing.

Incompetent and massively terrible customer service. Never again.

We are now homeowners and would never use them or recommend them.

The Liverpool office has the most…

The Liverpool office has the most deceitful, incompetent, and wholly unprofessional staff I have EVER had to deal with as a landlord! Don’t even have the decency to tell you that tradesmen are adding commission for them to a landlords invoice!

Incompetent doesn't cover it

I honestly like to see the best in people or companies, but Sequence is one of the worst.

As a tenant, dealing with them is a nightmare. Everything from arranging repairs, to dealing with contracts.

Everything is outsourced; they're nothing but secretaries throughout their entire company (including the local branches, such as William H Brown).

Living in Yorkshire, why do I need to ring someone in Liverpool to tell them a tap is loose, and then wait weeks for a response?
And if that 1 person is off work, no one else can pick up that task?

Why do I have to send multiple emails and make several telephone calls to get answers, and then be badgered by them for "not doing something", or anyone external to their system?
Or the fact that they don't know, nor have access to, their own systems in order to answer any of my questions.

Literal blame shifting to anyone but them.

And I've only dealt with them for 6 months.

Terrible service from start to finish

Terrible service from start to finish. Rarely responded to emails. Had to go to the dispute service to get our deposit returned.

1st, and last, time I’ve ever rented and won’t be using them to manage our rental property that’s for sure !

Shocking !

Shocking !! Took nearly 2 months to get deposit back. After a “cleaning charge” and “removing rubbish charge”. We had a professional cleaner do the house, and the rubbish was the stuff landlord left in the shed. They find any way to keep as much deposit as they can, and there very clingy to that deposit once you have come to an agreement. “5-7 working days”. It took 2 months. Never trust these with your deposit. Look for a 3ed party, or just avoid these daylight robbers full stop!!

Awful

Awful! They only care about taking your money.
My experience as a landlord is that tenants are not vetted properly and they will let to anyone they think can pay the rent. Unfortunately, this can lead to a string of unreliable tenants who show no respect for the home they have rented.
Management is terrible. The check in/out reports were vague and not taken on time so would not stand in adjudication leaving landlords to foot the bill for damage done. Contractors work is not checked. Photos are taken to show work done but shoddy standards are not questioned.
From what I've read they show no more care or consideration to tenants either!

I will NEVER EVER use them again and strongly suggest that you steer clear!!!

Sequence home is terrible

Sequence home is terrible. I moved out of my house in November 2021 and still have not received my security deposit back and it’s April 2022!

I have emailed and called them over 20 times and they keep giving me the run around. Pleas do not use.

one star is too many AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

one star is too many. The worst property management company EVER. avoid them like the plague if you are a tenant or a landlord. If you are a landlord and want your property taken care of then these are not the agent for you. they send cowboys to repair important things like a roof and charge you as if you had a contractor, they ignore tenant requests for repairs to other things such as fences, boilers and leaks under sinks. the house we unfortunately rented from them had a leak in the roof with water pouring in through a ceiling light fitting for TWO YEARS! i reported it every time it rained and nothing was done except a couple of blokes getting a bit of plastic out of their pocket to cover a hole. we left before the ceiling could fall in. Tenants- beware of William H Brown or any other firm that use this as a property management company. we have now finally left and they are STILL trying to rip us off by claiming for things in the house from our deposit that are not our responsibility or are in a better condition than when we moved in. i cant say how bad these have been. thank god we are out of there and with a decent landlord now.

The worst management company ever, avoid

Why you even have to put in 1 star in is beyond me. Sequence do not even deserve that. There should be a minus on here you can submit.

Utterly unprofessional, so slow and customer service is as low as it can get. Weeks before any response from emails or phone calls. Avoid, avoid avoid at all costs.
