Scammers and thieves; deserve to go to jail.

Scammers. That's what they are. Thieves. I don't even know how it's possible to have a few positive reviews. They will charge you WITHOUT your consent. I bought a laptop 3 years ago, it came with an insurance with SFAM. Free for a month or a year. I immediately cancelled, got confirmation of the cancelation, and that's it.
2.5 years later, someone from SFAM calls me. Says they want to send me INFORMATION about the insurance, to see if i want to resubscribe to their services. I said NO, NO, NO, and finally said OK, send me the information, but only information.
Next thing I know, I get an email congratulating me for subscribing to their services. I email them back immediately, saying i have never signed up for any of their services and want whatever this is cancelled immediately.
3 months later, I'm still being charged. And now I see that I'm not alone.

These people deserve to go to jail.

SCAM

SCAM! I cancelled my subscription to SFAM 4 years ago as they do everything they can in order to not replace my laptop that was broken.
AND surprise, after 4 years, they reactivate the direct debits to take 300 euros in my account in several bank direct debits, Around 10of 29.99euros in the last 2 months.

SFAM put through 2 x €29.99 direct…

SFAM put through 2 x €29.99 direct debits on my bank account without authorisation. My bank tells me to cancel the debit order with them but I am not a client and don't have a policy number or client number.
They also did this in 2020 and I did not ever receive a refund.
Complete SCAM of a company.

Do not sign with SFAM or their Partners

Been charged 29.99 3 times in two weeks for something I did not agree to. Called, emailed, filled out forms, sent letters, and no response. What in the actual heck is this? I live in France and signed up to a Sfam insurance for my phone, have been trying to cancel contract for 2 weeks.

Any American coming to france. Do not sign in with SFAM or any of their partners. If they approach you at any Fnac, Bouygues, or Orange after making any purchases just call their sales men clowns and walk. away. Do not even give them a minute of their time if they try pitching some insurance.

Update: They just made another charge today of 29.99. That's a total of 29.99 x 4 in 1 month. My contract doesn't state they can make altercations without consent and I have not received any calls, emails, or letters from them. They are also not responding to any calls or emails, and when I fill out a formulaire from ther website, I get automated response that they will reach out to me as soon as possible. I'm amazed that this is something that is allowed to happen in the Republic of France.

Second Update: In contact with my bank they gave me a form to fill out. FORMULAIRE CONTESTATION PRELEVEMENT SEPA to fill out. I'm going to send it out with copy of my contract, copies of the fraudulent charges, and copy of this website as well as a printed version from an Article from Le Monde highlighting the class action lawsuit against SFAM coming up in 2024. I'm still looking at whom I should contact in order to send forth more evidence toward the courts of France.

Turns out they have not been allowed to make new contracts since 2022. My guess is they are going out of business, have offshore bank accounts, and are trying to make a quick exit before they are shut down in 2024. Im just wondering how the banks and the government are allowing such a blatant abuse of their clients and citizens to happen so openly and so obviously without any form of intervention from police or any authority. We are witnessing a bank heist in real time.

3rd Update: Just got two new charges of 29.99 today December 20, 2023. That makes it a total of 6 charges of 29.99 in one month without any governmental intervention. My bank is now making an official complaint and will be reimbursing me. I suggest anyone victim to SFAM to make official complaints through their banks.

Avoid Celside/SFAM

I purchased a laptop for my master a year ago. I was signed up for Celside/SFAM when I said I didn’t want it but found the insurance was okay.

I cancelled it last august (2022) and charges have stopped on my card. I don’t use the old card as it is mainly for travel (Wise account). So I haven’t used it for any subscriptions since I cancelled my contract. Now, I find out that SFAM is charging me even more money on this account. When I haven’t used it for any subscription or contracts! I’m trying to get in contact with SFAM and tell them to stop but I will also consider legal action.

This company is shady from the other comments I read so please avoid anything with this company.

Fraud - Unauthorized Transactions - Stealing Money

After a grueling process of cancelling my subscription for services I never wanted and never signed up for, Celside / SFAM started to charge me again in the same unreasonable manner as they were doing before. I realized the charges just in time and was able to cancel these unauthorized transactions and I now will take legal actions.

illegal direct debit = fraude = theft

SFAM / Celside / Hubside are commiting illegal actions and charging customers, including myself for insurances that we did not sign for. My contract ended in Februari this year 2023 and kept on charging my bank account since then and have been increasing the charges with a factor 20 to what my normal fee was monthly. Like described below these happen in small charges, which don't attract a lot of attention, till it is to late. I hold Vanden Borre also accountable, where I signed the contract, since they knew about the suspicios activities coming 3 years ago and did not warn their customers, they saw an increase even in april 2023. They do recognise the issue and give standard advise of contacting your bank etc. I contacted the right authorities for this crime and also took direct contact with the companies for giving me my money back, which is over 900 euros only for the last months. If SFAM or Celside wishes to contact me, through this channel, I'm open for dialogue, since they don't want to do this through the phone and I have to wait for weeks till they answer on their own mailbox. PS: evidance I have through my own contract and the debit charges

Steeling money company

It’s more than 6 months I’m trying to contact them and close my contract, they’ve been charging me the same amount more then once a month and keep taking money without my permission.
Never answer when I call them, the line are always “busy” and they hang down.
Only once they answer and told me I had to wait for my birthday contract to be alble to close it and that they never got email or calls from me. False.
I told them to close it immediately. They didn’t and keep taking my money.

Fraud alert

I put end to my contract for the first time in may 2022 and several times ever since. Every time, I received a confirmation by email. Still, debit continued every month. This month, SFAM debited two times deliberately ( 85 CHF) so I had to finally delete the debit authorisation from my bank account. Pretty sure they will contact me pretty soon after never reacting to any of my letters or email requests and menace with debt collection. My legal cost insurance is looking forward and ready to rumble.

Avoid any relationship with SFAM/CELSIDE

It is imperative that you avoid any relationship with SFAM/CELSIDE, which was condemned in 2019 for scandalous practices of automatic subscription to unwanted services with undue bank debits at the end (see the 60 millions de consommateurs article of June 2019: Exceptional fine for the insurer Sfam).
Seeking to regain commercial virginity, the company has changed its brand name to CELSIDE and continues its dubious practices, of which I was recently a victim. Despite multiple requests for reimbursement and recourse to the mediation company indicated in the contractual documentation, I have not yet managed to obtain reimbursement of nearly €2,000 after 10 months of fruitless efforts.
SFAM/CELSIDE's response below is exemplary of their practices: although I appear by name in this notice with a verified identity, and we have exchanged multiple messages for several months, they fail to "identify" me. So far, I have only received this type of response, which is clearly dilatory, given the total lack of concrete follow-up.
SFAM/CELSIDE target either people wealthy enough to buy an expensive smartphone, who may not detect abusive direct debits immediatly or deprived people who will not have the resource to fight against their abuses. I know of an elderly who has been stripped of 13 000 € !
A community of several thousand members has formed on the internet: class action in prospect!
