Disgusting behaviour
Disgusting behaviour, this is a joke of an estate agency all they do is copy and paste, they’ve recently copied and pasted a description from a nearby property simply because they couldn’t be bothered to write content properly, previously they had 4 bullet points, on top of that the picture quality is so poor it looks as though it’s been done with a phone, they left a house alarm going off for hours and the icing on the cake they told the vender to drop the sale of their property by 20k as they’ve had no interest, perhaps if they’d taken the photos and done a description the vender would have more interest. So what exactly they are being paid for other than to copy and paste and take some shoddy pictures is well beyond me. Save your money and headache go elsewhere there are plenty of decent agencies that will look after you in such a stressful time.

Incompetent, Lazy and good at passing the book
A very generous 1 star, I am the landlord of a property. which I employ Sharman Quinney and as soon as I signed the contract the incompetence came to the surface, within a month the laziness showed and by the end of month 2 the term "passing the book" would be a good description.
Dealing with the Great shelford branch…
Dealing with the Great shelford branch for selling . Up to last week they had such a large turnover of staff and a lot of our paperwork and photos have gone missing of ours . Not happy at all with them . They apparently now have a whole new team so Im hoping that things will improve we wait and see . Since a young lady named Alice joined them 3months ago things seem to improve . She paid a visit to our home on the market again due to the present economic current climate of mortgage rates increasing and she had done more in one week than any of the others in the past . So well done Alice you deserve a quick promotion for trying to make things better and restore my faith in the company .

Avoid letting from them!
Avoid! I am renting from them the property is infested with mould they told me to ventilate the mould out! I have autoimmune disease I can’t live in those conditions they refuse to give me landlord details to speak to them directly. They rude and unprofessional. No repairs nothing is being done. I have 5 months of lease left and I lost all my belongings to mould. They by far the worse letting agents in Peterborough! Avoid at all cost !
This is about your werrington branch…
This is about your werrington branch pe4 the team lead by Kelly kahn my whole experience was brilliant from the minute I walked in to the office to have a chat about selling my house that is all complete first class sharman & Quinny esp Kelly and Renate .
The Cambridge team at Sharman Quinney…
The Cambridge team at Sharman Quinney have just sold our house, great work all the way. We did have a rough start as our buyers buyer fell through twice which delayed things but the team kept me informed, agreed to remarketing to reach a sale.
Big thanks to Jack, Katie & all involved.
Highly recommend
The team at Sharman Quinney - Thrapston have been fantastic in the process of us purchasing our first home!
They provided us all the information we needed from day 1 and have been amazing at answering all our questions!
Unethical Practices.
Tried to buy a house with these guys. They pulled every dodgy trick in the book.
After my offer was accepted. They told me it was a vital part of the process that I drive to their office in Peterborough to attend an in person meeting.
This meeting had nothing to do with my purchase, instead they tried to pressure me into buying various products - including life insurance. Not something I need, and certainly not something I'd buy from an estate agent.
That was a 2 Hour round trip to have someone attempt to sell me financial products I didn't ask for, and clearly didn't need. They clearly thought that just because I'm a first time buyer - that I was born yesterday.
Everything they do takes weeks. Communication was awful, my main point of contact left the business - but I wasn't told, leaving me completely in the dark. They didn't even put an out office on.
I was fully prepared with a deposit and mortgage offer, and had no chain it should have been a simple purchase.
In the end it was almost 6 months between me having an offer accepted and getting the keys.
Distasteful service turned around by Fay Wilson
My 5-star rating belongs to employee - FAY WILSON only. My family had to leave a property manager by SQ early (before the end of our contract) as we suddenly had to move to another city. Graciously, our direct letting agent - Rebecca Clarke was able to sort this out with our landlord on the terms we continue to pay the rents and bills until a new tenant moves in and also pay a one-off fee of £730 to scout for a new tenant. This was fair enough as we were the ones who had breached the initial contract and we had no complaints. We paid rents and bills for 1.5months after we had vacated the property and the search for a new tenant was ongoing. Luckily, a new tenant moved in 8days before the expiration of the rent we had paid and we asked SQ to kindly refund us 8days of rent. For four months, countless phone calls and several emails, I continued to speak with Rebecca Clarke about this. Rebecca responded to just a few of my emails, would promise to get back with an update but hardly ever did. I became really frustrated. So one day, I rang the office line again (1 week after my newest follow up email to Rebecca was not responded to) expecting to speak with Rebecca and get the usual empty promises, Fay Wilson answered the phone and said Rebecca wasn't in the office but asked how she could help. Reluctantly, I narrated my four months ordeal. Fay took ownership of the issue, apologized, asked for time to investigate and promised to ring back. Then she rang back. I mean she actually rang back multiple times.I thought this was a taboo at SQ. Even when I was unreachable, she updated me via emails. Long story short, we got refunded the owed sum 2 working days after my first contact with her. Thank you Fay. If only every staff at SQ was half as kind and customer centric as you are, they wouldn't be any negative reviews. I believe Fay is working in a dysfunctional system at SQ because I was appalled by the fact that all my several emails (though addressed to Rebecca Clarke) were sent to a team/ group email address. Someone else, a supervisor ought to have seen at least 1 email and asked Rebecca what was going on here. Fay, you are the Star of my review and the only reason I could still consider recommending SQ to anyone or look forward to working with them in the future. I wish you Fay, all the best in your future endeavors. TAIWO
Well done Matt and crew!
The market Deeping crew especially Matt made us feel like we mattered. They listened to us unlike others who dictated, meaning we felt supported but in control.
Obviously at the start you have lots of contact then a period of calm but towards the last push Matt was instrumental in making sure everyone was working hard to achieve the completion date.
When I handed the keys in they gave me a box of random things like alcohol free beer and hair conditioner. It’s a nice gesture and I’m now looking like Michael Myers’s in the free face mask 🙈
HIghly recommended
We have had dealings with SQ over several years and would have no hesitation in recommending them. They have always provided a very professional and personalised service which makes youfeel wellsupported throughout the buying and selling process. A special thank you to Lucy at the Thrapston branch who went the extra mile and always conveyed the feeling that she cared about us. Thank you all.
Very poor
Very poor, no response and no contact. Is this an actual company! How anyone would use this company is beyond me.
Impressed with the service so far
Had a few teething problems since moving into my new property but Fay Wilson has always been efficient at getting someone out to help me and follows up to make sure thing are sorted helpful friendly and professional thanks Fay
I wouldn’t give them a star
I wouldn’t give them a star. Service for rental appalling. No communication no reports sent till end of tenancy. House was left disgusting. They didn’t do reports or follow up on anything. Jay sat on mobile all time while Valentino made excuses for everything they got paid to manage!!!! JOKE
Avoid Avoid Avoid at all cost
Avoid Avoid Avoid at all cost! Put our property up for sale, loads of promises what they were going to do, how many people they had waiting to view our property. Talked into a sole agency, got all signed up then NOTHING not one view in months. Tried to talk to them to progress things and just received arrogant responses. No Not Use!
Good service….but accounts team struggle to account.
Branch staff helpful and communicative, but the central accounts team do appear to consistently make errors on statements which regularly need follow up and correction.
AVOID SHARMAN QUINNEY
Sharman Quinney should be avoided at all costs.
I used the PETERBOROUGH OFFICE and this review is based on the many staff that I have dealt with over the years - Their staff turnover seems to be immense.
They get their 1 star for selling their services very effectively and for efficiently taking your money but when it comes to providing a service, they are shocking.
We have used them as a property management company and have had two tenants. Our tenants actually had to find me on social media to let me know what was happening and to get things sorted in the house as Sharman Quinney hadn’t done their job.
In my experience, over 4 years, they never carried out any requests that we had without a very long winded fight. They have over charged us, taken tax when they shouldn’t have have caused us countless sleepless nights and have cost us thousands of pounds that we needn’t have paid ( which we are still trying to get back) They will take any money that they feel that they are owed out of the rent that they take so you cannot hold anything back from them and even when the tenants don’t pay the rent that they owe, the still aren’t that bothered to sort it out for you.
I could keep going for pages about the unbelievable incompetences that we have experienced, but instead I can only urge you to go with any other Estate agents. Having read some other reviews, it would appear that my experience is not unusual.
Poor communication
Very poor communication. I used the Stanground branch. I had some one come to my house and we agreed how much they would advertise the house for and agreed a commission, based on a % of the sale price. Then to my surprise he asked if I was willing to pay an extra bonus if the house sold for above the asking price. I declined. Once the house was sold and a price was agreed, it took over 5 months to complete. I was always ringing them up to get an update. I gave up in the end. In the final weeks when things started to happen, I never had one call from Sharmans. Nothing to tell me contracts were exchanged, nothing to tell me the completion date, nothing to tell me when the house had to be vacated by. I had to get all this information from a third party. When I complained, they said they didnt have my phone number. But they rang me to confirm the sale price, so they ddid have it.
Amazing Service - 5 stars
Helpful, friendly & knowledgeable.
Amazing service from Kelly Kan at the Werrington Branch - helpful & friendly throughout! Dealt with all my concerns & ensured communication between buyer/seller/solicitor.
Truly went above & beyond.
Thank you!
