They constantly try to upsell their private subscription. I got a filling from them that was done poorly. They said I needed more fillings, so I went for a second opinion, and the other dentist said I didn't need any. I am pretty annoyed and feel like they are doing unnecessary work and ripping people off.

Great efficient service
Great efficient service. Very friendly staff. Ross is a superstar dentist. Puts this nervous patient at ease with excellent results.
Excellent Dentist
Just before Covid I had a very bad experience at my dentist, after Covid I couldn’t get an appointment to see any dentist, my mum & dad had been to Shawlands Dental and both had excellent things to say about it. I decided to try it, the wait for an NHS Dentist was unacceptable at the time and I’m a very nervous dentist user, I phoned not expecting much but immediately I felt at ease. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful and offered me a consultation straight away. I’ve never looked back, the whole experience has been one of positivity, from
The reception staff, the Hygienist and the excellent dentists themselves. I’m so happy I’ve found Shawlands Dental
Pamela is the best
I have been going to Pamela with my treatments for years. Pamela is the nicest, most gentle lovely person who listens to what I need and does exactly that. I wouldn’t go anywhere else ❤️

They are more of a retail group rather than a heath service.
Counter staff give advice via their own opinion contradicting the dentists advice.
Money is king over customers.
Upsell upsell upsell! Ashley seems to be a highstreet shop manager rather than a health care clinic manger.

The doctors and nurses are lovely and are always happy to help answer any questions.
Money first - patients a distant second.
I had been a patient of this practice as an NHS patient, since it opened, and entered into their private plan around a year ago. Suddenly, after never needing more that a single filling, I was told I urgently needed three, at a cost of over £300. Only after I spoke to the practice manager did they admit these were purely cosmetic, and not needed.
Six months later I saw a different dentist, who was aware of this incident, and committed to recommending only essential work. He found seven items needing urgent attention at a cost of £1700. (admittedly, I had chipped a tooth, so I knew there would be SOME cost).
I managed to find an NHS dentist, who told me that NONE of the treatment recommended was actually necessary. Worse than that, he found one tooth which DID need some attention, which had been completely missed previously.
I can only advise that you avoid this place. Similar experiences with two different dentists suggest it is a problem with the practice.
Best dental visit ever
I visited Dr Umara Tariq for my check up and x rays. She treated me for a few things to keep my teeth in good form. She is so knowledgeable, put me at ease and explained every step of my treatment.
She was so gentle and really through with my treatment so I felt in very good hands. I would highly recommend booking with her.

For safe, relaxing treatment, book with Dr Campbell
The technology available here and the excellent clinical standards from Dr Campbell and his nurse are always beyond expectations. Truly relaxing experience and fantastic results for same day dental restorations.
The new staff at the front desk are polite and professional, however as with other reviews, matters of money should not really be discussed in front of a full waiting room.
That said, the clinical experience overwhelmingly compensates for these niggles.
My experience is that of a private patient. I am sorry to read about the issues relating to NHS treatments, because I’m sure that the dental surgeons will surely wish, as a matter of ethics, to treat all patients, irrespective of personal circumstances.
Highly recommended. If you are in need of a safe, relaxing and professional dental experience, book an appointment with Dr Campbell.

Care more about money than patients
From the bizarre set-up of three standing receptionists who loudly discuss your business, to the relentless sales pitch insisting you need very expensive treatments - this practice was awful. If you are nervous or anxious at all - avoid. The only person i encountered who had any sense of patient-care was the hygienist, who was lovely. The dental treatment I received (and paid a small fortune for) was so bad I had to go to another dentist to fix it. My replacement crowns are the wrong colour, shape AND size. I wouldn’t go back even if they offered to remedy it for free.

Shocked at recent changes
Have been with the practice for many years as a NHS patient but had a couple of white fillings privately. Staff have generally been very pleasant and I've been happy with treatment.
However, there has been a major change recently. They are more money orientated and it feels like I have been pick pocketed unnecessarily. They drag out the treatment into 2 or 3 visits even if you have very little wrong with your teeth. Now if need a little teeth cleaning (no fillings required) - first visit is £109 including air polish but no longer clean into gums like did in past. Second visit about £120 if doing a deep clean of section of gum. Then want a third visit at heaven knows what cost! Also have to pay £11 for X-ray now. Beware.
Excellent Dentist
Had another excellent visit to my dentist Ross today to have an old amalgam filling replaced by a lovely white one. Ross is a very calming influence, excellent at numbing up (I felt nothing) and the quality of work is second to none. Really good dentist and the dental practice is great overall, nice people and great service. Would highly recommend.

Brill
The care and attention to detail the best, they are entertaining and their ability to relax their patients is amazing. I have recommended them to many of my friends
Had an appontment booked in for weeks…
Had an appontment booked in for weeks now for July when i am off work and able to attend. Since making the appt, i have had the incorrect time given to me over the phone, a phone call to change the time and now today a phone call to cancel as the dentist isnt going to be in. Really poor service and told wouldnt get another appt for a few weeks after that. Makes it difficult with work to attend appts aa it is. They are making it as akward as possible to push NHS patients out and only accomodate private patients.
Edited: received a call this morning 23rd June to get booked in with another dentist instead for my check up that was originally scheduled. Glad they made the effort to make it right. This option should have been given to me on the phone yesterday. Just glad to get booked in.
Low quality care and service
I see a lot of review replies where the old management was blamed for bad service/practice. The only good service I had from Shawlands Dental Care was pre-lockdown and pre this changeover.
Some care seems to be taken with non NHS patients but any work done for myself has never lasted and I have been both NHS and private.
Too expensive, low quality care. Non empathetic reception staff with terrible customer service skills when faced with any complaints.
Avoid. Chose a smaller, more patient oriented dental practice.
