Unacceptable Order Cancellation and Account Deactivation Process

I placed an order with Shopbop yesterday, and they promptly confirmed my order via email. However, just a few hours later, I received a message stating that my order had been cancelled because it "did not pass the preliminary inspection criteria."

To make matters worse, when I tried to access my Shopbop account, I found that it had been completely disabled. I have no idea why my order was cancelled or why my account was deactivated, and the limited information provided in their email was completely unhelpful.

Searching other reviews, it seems I'm not the only customer who has experienced this problematic order cancellation and account deactivation process with Shopbop. It's unacceptable that a reputable retailer would handle customer orders and accounts in such an opaque and unsatisfactory manner.

I am extremely disappointed with Shopbop's handling of this situation. They provided no clear explanation, offered no opportunity to rectify the issue, and essentially shut me out of my account without warning. This has shaken my trust in the company and I would caution others about potential issues when ordering from Shopbop.

Overall, a very poor customer experience that has left me frustrated and dissatisfied. I hope Shopbop reviews their policies and procedures to avoid similar problems for other customers in the future.

Horrible customer service

I ordered a backpack and after a few hours I recieved an email saying that "after review of my account" they decided to cancel my order. The customer service is horrible, as I recieve the same automated message every time I asked for clarification. This website is a waste of time

Order Account and Disabling

I was a loyal gold member of this shop until yesterday they disabled my account and have no longer access to my order history. They will not inform you reason why and they will not respond as well

Despite the high taxes, everything was fine!

Honestly, after my purschase I decided to read all the reviews and I got kinda scared.
Everything went well. The order arrived pretty fast actually.
It took 10 days from America to Portugal.
The problem was the price I paid for the taxes... almost 100€, but rest of the experience was ok.
I can confirm this is a legit website.

An absolute dreadful experience with…

An absolute dreadful experience with this dreadful web site , extremely dishonest & should be put out of business ! They are absolute Theifs! My purchase cost me 250$ more than it should have & I was unable to cancel the purchase after I ordered the item the extra costs only appeared after I paid ! I could have purchased the exact same item from Saks5th avenue ! For $250 less ! Too make maters worse I had to return the item because the size was wrong & when I received my refund they then deducted an extra 45$ for return postage ! In total I spent $560 with Shopbop & they refunded me $ 298 ! This is morally wrong ! This website should be shut down ! Please please do not order a thing from this Cowboy web site ! Children are starving in the world & I would have gladly donated this money to them ! Shopbop & anyone who works for them you should be ashamed of yourself ! You have stole my Money under huge false pretentious

Never shop from them

Bought a pair of shoes, my purchase went through and received a confirmation email. After a week, I decided to check the website to see if the order was shipped. I couldn’t login to my account - preventing me from accessing any information or tracking my order!!

Order Cancellation and Account Disabling

I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with Shopbop that has left me thoroughly disappointed. I placed an order for a dress for my brother's wedding, only to find out that my order was canceled without any notification or explanation. To make matters worse, my account was disabled, preventing me from accessing any information or tracking my refund.

Despite reaching out to their customer service multiple times, I received no clear explanation for the cancellation. Even more alarming, my refund has not been processed, leaving me without the funds needed to purchase another dress for this important event.

I understand that Shopbop reserves the right to cancel orders and disable accounts, but failing to inform customers and not processing refunds promptly is unacceptable and, frankly, seems legally questionable. This experience has caused me a great deal of stress and inconvenience, and I am now considering seeking legal counsel to resolve this issue.

I strongly advise anyone considering a purchase from Shopbop to think twice. Their lack of communication and poor customer service is not worth the hassle. Customers deserve transparency and timely resolutions, neither of which I received in this case.

Scam Website, stay away

Bought a dress for my GF for our anniversary, my purchase went through and received a confirmation email. After a week, I decided to check website to see if the order was shipped. I couldn’t login due to suspicious activity, and contacted support in hopes of getting an explanation. They said my order was cancelled and my account was blocked for no reason. Spoke with my bank and they are telling me the money has gone through. This website is a scam website, stay away.

I ordered a dress from Shopbop

I ordered a dress from Shopbop. It is sent, 3 days after dispatch, before it has arrived I receive an email from Shopbop advising me it is being returned to the sender (Shopbop) with no explanation as to why. I receive a second email advising me I have been issued a gift certificate to the value of the dress. Shopbop's assumption that I would wish to receive a store credit instead of a refund is very bad customer service. I send an email asking why the dress is no longer being sent, and a request for a refund. The refund is provided (why did I have to ask?) and my question about why the dress being sent back is completely ignored. I will not rely upon them sending items in the future. Shopbop contacted to me to offer to re-purchase the item at the sale price. I did this, within 2 days the same thing happened, I received an email advising the item is being sent back and a credit note issued. I now have multiple currency charges on my credit card and multiple emails between myself and Shopbop trying to sort this out. Shopbop are now refusing to provide a refund and forcing me to accept a store credit even though I never received the dress. Terrible customer service.

Great experience overall

I found a dress I liked, which was a steal. I was weary at first because all of the reviews, but I went for it. It arrived in 3 days, even though I live half-way around the world. Its perfect ❤️ I do want to note that you need to know your tax laws. My package wasn’t taxed as it didn’t meet the minimum amount.

Shame for that platform

Don't bother trying to order from Shopbop, it's a waste of time. I initially chose some clothes and asked my brother to place an order for me. On the delivery day, he found he couldn't log into his account. Customer support informed him that he was permanently banned and that Shopbop would no longer serve him, without providing any reason. I then asked my brother's girlfriend to place an order, but the same thing happened to her account. The next day, I decided to place an order myself over the phone with an operator, but an hour later, my order was canceled, and my account was blocked. Customer support refused to explain. It's disgraceful that Amazon owns this company.

Import duties do not make it worth it when purchasing to Canada

I like the products at Shopbop, But I don't like the import fee's I am paying. For example, if I buy from Marc Jacobs online or Skims, I don't have to pay duties on any of the items. Shopbop import fee's are quite excessive they are over a quarter of what the item's cost is. So if the total comes to just under $400 you are paying $70 for import fees? I can get a better deal in England from Selfridges. Duties are already included in the prices.

I recently purchased a Louis Vuitton bag from Shopbop, an Amazon company. I paid $1500 for the What Goes Around Comes Around bag. Given the price and the company's reputation, I expected an authentic, high-quality product. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of appalling.

Upon receiving the bag, I immediately noticed several issues. The leather had visible rips and tears, and glue marks were evident in multiple places. The quality was far from what one would expect from a genuine Louis Vuitton item. After closer inspection, it became clear that the bag was a fake.

The fact that a reputable platform like Shopbop would sell counterfeit products is incredibly disappointing. I feel deceived and am highly dissatisfied with this purchase. I strongly advise others to be cautious and reconsider buying luxury items from Shopbop. This experience has been a costly and frustrating lesson.

Shopbop refuses to refund for missing package that they received a refund from UPS Claims and back to me

I placed an order with Shopbop and did not receive the package. They opened a claim with UPS, tracking number 1Z8FY3300373711040. UPS has issued a claim to them and they are refusing to refund me. They are thieves and I better get my money back for order 127667724. I've contacted the FTC as well as the Attorney General. This is absolute theft and I am extremely upset.

very bad customer service

I used to be a loyal customer of shopbop, I have ordered a lot of things through their website, but the customer service is shocking, the amount of emails I have sent regarding an order that has not been sent, or states it is still processing and shipped at the same time is ridicules, you cannot get any proper answers to your questions, and I am still waiting for my items. Revolve is a much better company and the customer service is fabulous, so still waiting to resolve my issue but this will be my last shopping experience with this company.

I would leave 0 stars, if I could.

So, here’s the deal. I’m not one to throw shade, and I have never left a negative review before. But after my recent ordeal with Shopbop, I felt compelled to write one to save others from a similar fate. Yeah, it was that bad.

I was on a mission to get my friend the perfect birthday present. I spent hours scouring through the internet, finally finding THE thing on Shopbop's site and placing the order six days before her big day. Smooth sailing, right? Wrong.

Two days later, still no shipping confirmation. So, I logged into my account - only to find out I couldn't - it has been deactivated. No heads-up, nothing. Cue the frustration.

A call to Customer Service revealed that not only was my account deactivated, but my order was cancelled without any communication from Shopbop. For this, they blame my bank. Classic.

I check with my bank, and surprise, surprise - all is fine on their side. In fact, they are puzzled as to why, after authorisation and processing, my orders were cancelled by Shopbop without any apparent reason. So, I’m back on the line with Shopbop, enduring endless hold music and repetitive dialogues with different departments. The result? I am advised to wait for an email from the "Order Review" department with an explanation and further instructions.

Later that day, I got an email saying my order didn’t pass some mysterious “preliminary inspection criteria.” What even is that? No explanation. So here I am, calling Shopbop again (Keep in mind, I’m calling them from Switzerland, and let me tell you, it ain’t cheap. But I need answers.) and asking about the criteria above only to hear "We can not help you".

Undeterred, I set up a new account with a new email (which I created for this purpose only) and a new credit card. Guess what happens? You got it. Cancelled. Again. And Shopbop’s brilliant solution? Try answering their “Order Review” department upon reception of yet another "Sorry your order has been cancelled"email.

So, I sit down and compose a heartfelt email, tactfully conveying my frustration and inquiring to work things out together. Know what I get in return? A copy-paste email from someone named Robert. Word-for-word. Seriously? Thanks for nothing, Robert! I answered again asking for an explanation, and at this point Robert made an executive decision that this issue was solved and ghosted me.

Long story short, Shopbop’s lack of communication, transparency and just basic human decency cost me time, money, and a whole lot of nerve cells. To anyone considering shopping with Shopbop, I urge you "Don't!" They aren't worth the hassle, trust me on this one.

P.S. Oddly, despite everything, my inbox is still flooded with Shopbop's marketing emails: "Buy this...", "Save X percent", "Shop now"... Believe me, I gave it my best shot, Shopbop! Unsubscribe!

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY! I DON'T DO MANY REVIEWS BUT THIS COMPANY IS THE ABSOLUTE, UNEQUIVOCAL WORST I'VE EVER SEEN!

I NEVER buy anything online but my wife asked for a bag from Shopbop. I ordered and paid for the bag to arrive before Mothers Day. I went back to check the order the following day and rec'd a message that there was suspicious activity. I called the customer service and they advised that they could not tell me what activity happened and then hung up on me. This is part of the reason I don't buy things online, because when you have an issue the online retailer has FULL control.

They NEVER sent me anything saying my order was canceled. I suspect that they didn't have the product I purchased or couldn't deliver in time. Either way, I will never spend a dime with this DISGUSTING company.

TERRIBLE customer service

TERRIBLE customer service. THE WORST! I waited on hold for about 45 minutes, got disconnected a couple of times, finally when I got a hold of someone she was so rude I can’t even believe that I ever spent money with a company like this. Never again, yuck.

Is there anything more frustrating than discovering a Cult Gaia bag purchased from Shopbop 7 years ago is confirmed FAKE by the brand’s team? I trusted Shopbop for authenticity. I’ve reached out to your customer service team, but I haven’t received a satisfactory resolution.
