Responsive time was good. However we paid for 1 week heated pool. The pool utilized a heating pump which takes 2 days to achieve its goal. Heat was not turned on until Monday therefore we received less then what we paid for. No compensation offered.

Equipment was at our house when we arrived. Everything was in good condition and we were so thankful for the cart to carry all of our equipment to the beach! Would definitely rent from them again!

I had a very bad experience with Shoreline's management team after renting a house that had been misrepresented online and was super dirty. Kenny, the owner, refused to give a credit or refund due to a line in the lease saying that there will not be a refund for properties that are unclean. Isn't it a property management company's job to ensure cleanliness of rentals? Jennifer, the manager, was extremely unprofessional and noncommunicative via email. Jennifer noted that she wouldn't provide a refund because I had already submitted a negative VRBO review about the property (not Shoreline), which tells me that they would have given me a review had I agreed to lie. I will not rent from Shoreline again, and I would not recommend that anyone else do so. I will say that Tammy was amazing--she sent staff out right away to get TVs hooked up and take care of some mold on a bathroom wall. Braxton, the service technician, was super nice.

We do not usually have to go by the rental company to pick up codes to the gate or house, it is emailed to us, so that was a hassle. When we finally arrived to the house, the code provided would not unlock the door. Multiple calls were made before someone finally answered the phone and gave us a generic code that would let us in the house. Of course the air conditioning was not working. It was the next morning before someone could come out to fix the problem.The house was beautiful and clean for the most part. The stove had burned food all over it and there were little children's hand prints all over the glass tables,doors and furniture. Made me wonder if the other surfaces were clean so we cleaned them. Found trash behind the trashcans in the bathrooms so I question if the floors were cleaned. Otherwise everything went well and we had a wonderful time. Appreciate the bag with some essential items inside.

We were given incorrect info regarding the use of work out facilities. Also, the property we used wasn't open due to employee help (lack of) I do not plan to use Monterrey Shores again!

This is the second time we stayed here! This is now our “go to” house to stay in Corolla! We had a family member with us that uses a walker so the elevator was extremely handy!

Wonderful staying in the house. We wish we could stay in a house like this year round. Shoreline was great to work with. The weather was nice for walking on the beach and even got in a bicycle ride.

We were checked into a property that was mostly flooded out, without warning. At check in at 9 am at their offices in Kitty Hawk, they let us know that the first level of the home had taken on some water in the heavy rain a few days prior, but it was dry and cleaned. Upon arrival to the home at 4 pm in Corolla, the property was flooded out, the pool didn't have an operational pump for several days, we had to walk through brown water to access the pool area and the volleyball court was also under brown water. None of this was communicated to us at the time of check in. We spent the rest of the afternoon and the next day communicating with Shoreline OBX and the pool guy that showed up about the state of the property, and Shoreline had asked us to be patient with the receding water and pool situation. It rained again Sunday and we called Shoreline on Monday am asking what our options were to move to another property. They said they only had 1 place we could move to but was not comparable to what we had for size and amenities, but was all they had. We stuck it out in order to walk to the beach across the street. It rained again and the property flooding worsened and the first level took on water again. Finally by Wednesday we had to move to that alternative property. Shoreline offered us, in writing, a 50% refund for the nights we stayed at the original property. BUT, they then tried to charge us double the nightly rate for the new place, in order for them to not lose any money. We would not agree to that, asked them to come to the property to discuss in person, which they said no. Then, the morning we were leaving (2 days later) sent us an email saying they decided not to refund us the money. So not only would they not refund us what they offered in writing, but they charged us double the nightly rate for the 2nd home. We refused to sign the contract for the new home based on the rate, and never did. They will not refund us to this day, and our trip was Aug 2018. I would NOT use Shoreline OBX again based on their business practices and certainly will NOT recommend.

Shoreline has been our rental management company since 2015. Their level of attention to their properties is unparalleled and I would never consider changing. They treat you like you are their only client!

The property I rented was in very poor condition: broken furniture littered the grounds right near the entry doors, interior was very dirty, a lot of issues. Would never rent again. I logged complaints which only some of those were addressed and most went unanswered

we've rented the same cottage for ~ 8 years, and we thought we had a fairly good rapport w/shoreline obx. we always tried to be considerate and leave the cottage in good shape for the next renters. unfortunately, we now understand that shoreline does NOT have our care and comfort in mind when they refer to us as "guests." this year, we not only signed a lease, but we had to sign another document at check-in, guaranteeing that we would obey all of the same rules in the lease. in addition, the number of e-mails from them greatly increased: before, during, and after our rental. these instructions are designed to "make our stay more enjoyable," but it soon becomes apparent that this isn't your vacation, you're now their caretaker---and you paid for the privilege. there were duplicate e-mails, erroneous e-mails, and strange e-mails telling you to use only one door to exit and enter the cottage to conserve the a.c. what was truly bizarre was that, in my communications w/shoreline before the rental date, they never felt the need to warn me that there was a raging construction site directly across the street, nor did they offer to rent us a different cottage. recently, we rec'd. yet another e-mail from them: they just wanted to let us know about all of the upcoming festivals and to urge us to get our cottage reservations in early. well, that's very thoughtful of them, just like when they passed us a tote bag at check-in, "to make our stay more enjoyable." after seven unmitigated days of construction noise guaranteed to break you down, we quietly returned the tote bag at check-out and fled.
