I would recommend SimplyVat to any Amazon seller who wants to expand their UK/US business into the EU.
To hold inventory in EU FBA marketplaces and then sell to EU customers, sellers must first become VAT registered in each EU marketplace.
SimplyVat as the name states made the whole process Simple! As an Amazon business owner I had to wear many hats to become successful, but, setting up and registering for VAT in each marketplace, and then ensuring I was compliant and submitting my VAT returns correctly and on time was a step too far for me.
SimplyVat made the whole process very Simple, leaving me to concentrate on what I was good at, building my business.

We have been with simply VAT for many years. Pre-Brexit things were quite routine however post-Brexit things changed for the worst. Germany wouldn't let us deregister from VAT and sent us hundreds of thousands of pounds in estimated demands despite the fact that VAT was being paid by our customers on importing. In short, Simply VAT helped us fight our case, which we won, and got us out of a very stressful situation. They were incredibly helpful and efficient and I would highly recommend them.

Dont trust them. They said they handle EU VAT but they do it though an agent which they didnt mention. As my experience with UK VAT companies using EU agents and not their own offices - has been fraught with problems, I paid before this and other information on their service was disclosed. Still trying to get my money back after no service as been provided. When there is a problem with money, they dont like responding or giving it back.

They are not transparent with their charges and they take the advantage with the people who are far away from Europe to over charge for everything.
I hired SimplyVat to do the process of the registration of the VAT for Germany and England. However, I had no sales in both countries and my business did not go forward, so I had to deregister.
After paying 800 pounds to register and had no sales in both countries, they wanted to charge me 500 pounds to deregister, plus 250 dollars to send null returns.
I realised they were not trustfull and were taking advantage of my situation. So, I researched and could do both deregistration by myself, which was not that difficult and were for free.
Don´t trust on them.
They are the typical company who will disappear with the money of your company and you will not hear back from them anymore.
I felt morally assaulted and I wish I could have make many questions before starting the relation with SimplyVAt.
The good part is that I learned quite a lot and now I am much more malicious and will not trust in any company anymore.

I am yet to be allocated a contact person and process for my quarterly VAT returns but I'm hoping the service will be equally great.

We are with Simply VAT since about a year and unfortunately have not had a good experience thus far. They market themselves to overseas online sellers so I assumed they would know the basics of this arena. Unfortunately when I came on board I was given bad advice: when first applying for VAT registration through Simply VAT I had a pre-existing EORI - they did not advise that I get a new EORI to be linked to my VAT registration number. This was not cleared up and worked out for for multiple quarters of filings, and as such we were not able to claim back thousands of pounds or import duties. Their response early on in working this out was was to the tune of "we're not import specialists". To me what that meant was they are not knowledgeable in the basic workings of online selling.
Once realising the issue I wrote my account contact to express my disappointment on how this was handled and that this mistake in their advice given to me cost us thousands of pounds, and the reply back answered other questions but didn't even acknowledge my complaint whatsoever.
So I'm not only disappointed with the level of expertise, but also now at the level of care service they provide their customers.
It looks like the CEO replies to some of these reviews, who knows, maybe I'll actually get an acknowledgement of the issue, but I won't hold my breath. I'm still with this company purely because it's a big undertaking (time and cost) to switch, but I definitely wouldn't recommend Simply VAT.

My business has been working with SimplyVAT for about 3 years. We've been very impressed with their customer service. One item to call out in particular - we had a substantial VAT refund due to us from UK HMRC. The SimplyVAT team helped identify that we could obtain this refund. Then, over the subsequent six months, they repeatedly interfaced with Tax Authorities to push to get this processed and refunded. It was an exceptional effort on their part to regularly call and push to get this handled. I'm grateful for their hard work and effort.

During that time they have helped us work out our vat liabilities in Europe, Australia and the US and make sure we are compliant.
As we have grown as a business they have provided us feedback and guidance as we go.
They have provided invaluable services through the difficulties of Brexit, helping us navigate everything from IOSS, OSS and a European warehouse.
You get a lot of added value with them. They provide great advice as part of your agreed charges. I find their prices reasonable for everything they do for us.
Their communication has always been excellent. We have always been able to 100% count on them for their support. I don't know what we would do without them.

I'm a bit puzzled as I write this because the reviews on here are a lot higher than what I have experienced. SimplyVAT was professional and prompt in the beginning and also, upon reading the reviews I decided to move forward. After payment was complete, everything went downhill from there. Response times went from max 24 hours to days and even weeks. There are no communication regarding timeline as I simple don't hear back from them. When I do get a response, it's short and brief and usually does not answer the question I have asked. Extremely disappointed. You will continually hear the excuse of "due to high demand, we are running slower than usual" I understand it is busy times with regulations changing but it would be nice to get an update more frequently than once every several weeks. I would not recommend this company as I regret my decision greatly.

When Some Cruise ships decided to have UK domestic Voyages, which required our stores inside cruise ships to obtain UK VAT, my Boss asked me to contact Deloitte to obtain UK VAT. I decided to go with SimplyVAT. Not only I saved my boss tens of thousands of dollars, I had an amazing experience with Simply VAT. When I told Anna Lodge that we are in a rush because Royal Caribbean will have a voyage very soon, she did everything possible to get our VAT ID number in record time.

End up overpaying VAT. So B2B transactions on Amazon in Italy that Amazon has charged no VAT for, SimplyVAT tell me some of the customer VAT IDs are invalid and I must pay VAT. On further investigation, I find out SimplyVAT only checks valid VAT IDs against VIES - so if the Italian business has never registered in VIES and it is a domestic B2B sale in Italy then SimpyVAT is incorrectly flagging up invalid VAT IDs. On reporting this to them, they confirm that is the case - but if I want them to check the valid VAT IDs against the Italian domestic database then I will have to pay extra, or I can just carry on paying VAT on transactions the customer hasn't been charged VAT (and therefore sell at a lose).
So SimplyVAT have 1. Poor systems that can't correctly calculate the VAT. 2. Poor customer service after reporting the issue, that they want to charge you more, rather than fixing their systems.
So maybe their T&Cs should say we will do our best to roughly calculate your VAT, but you may actually be overpaying! I hate to think how much extra the Italian government has got from SimplyVAT customers who do not realise they are paying too much.
Considering the premium prices you pay for this service, it was disappointing.
